I guess it must be very dependent on what demographics you fit into; I set up an account on Opinion Outpost and filled in all the profile questions, only to find that they have absolutely no surveys for me at all.allison445 said:The best site for me is opinion outpost I always top the £60 per month with them since lockdown its been more as the product testing and focus groups have increased.

I had both the Google and Microsoft surveys as well. The Google denied me access. And later it worked but I was timed out by them. The Microsoft one refused to take my email address saying it wouldn’t accept personal emails only student ones! Hope they don’t have any more like these in the future!0

I think I took this one too - it was designed using MS Forms. The researcher sent me a link, but of course by the time I got round to it my reservation had timed out and the study was marked as returned.MollyR said:I had one of those yesterday; the researcher apologised and sent me a link to have another go at the study. It worked - but of course it didn't credit, since Prolific had it marked as Returned. I've asked the researcher to credit me manually, but I have no idea how she will achieve it!
Researchers are able to award you payment on a "Returned" submission as a bonus, so provided they got the data (and even if they didn't actually), and you completed the study, you should get paid.1 -
I hadn't thought of asking them - I've sent messages now but couldn't quite bring myself to say "and please will you pay me" I am just not pushy enough for this job! I actually got a survey that worked this morning. I get up early, and it was starting to feel like I was just testing the surveys out for the researchers to put things right before the rest of the participants get out of bed!ndf9876 said:

That’s a great amount to have earned alongside your job. I’d be very happy at that! Find most of them really enjoyable too.mikep22 said:
Ive been using Prolific for 5 years, I think £1 a day is a fair goal. Its basically 1 survey a day. I have managed to earn £2.6k through the site during that time, alongside my full time job.ldee2111 said:I’m new to Prolific. Really enjoying the studies and I set myself a goal to earn £1 a day. Then I came across this thread and my £1 a day seems a little embarrassing 😂NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸0 -
Heh I know what you mean on both counts! I don't think there's anything wrong with being direct and asking for payment - after all, you spent the time completing the study, and Prolific are pretty clear about the situations in which participants have to be paid.Sapindus said:

The only contact I've had with a researcher was when they rejected my contribution of choosing the same response - 'no difference' - to each question in a survey which presented pictures of people and asked how trustworthy/criminal each one looked. I explained that I deliberately chose this response because it's impossible to tell from just a photograph, and I got my £3 in the end.2

Just did a survey about hedgehogs and organisational behaviour - you are supposed to reflect on a story about hedgehogs and describe when colleagues behaved in a similar way. In all good faith I told them I couldn't because the story and metaphor were cobblers - let's see if I get the money!4

Ha ha I just did that one, very strangeGingerTim said:Just did a survey about hedgehogs and organisational behaviour - you are supposed to reflect on a story about hedgehogs and describe when colleagues behaved in a similar way. Very few surveys coming up for me the past couple of weeks. I’m new to the platform and wonder if this is just my account or are surveys slower in coming at this time?NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸0
