Thank you, Now that is a bonus
I didn't receive the bonus either so I sent a message to the resercher.
This is her reply on 31 Oct.
Dear Participant,
I am sorry for a delayed response. The bonuses were assigned on the base of a lottery. We have already sent all the bonuses.
Best,
Karolina
I feel cheated as Player 1 decided to pass £10 to me and my roll of dice 6 should have given me £30 bonus.
Thank you, I feel cheated too. I was expecting £18

Sometimes there are studies where the bonus amount is determined by what happened in the study, but they state something like "1 in 10 participants will be randomly selected to receive the bonus," so you're not guaranteed to get it. I'm guessing this was one of those, but perhaps didn't make the lottery aspect as clear as it could have done.
I don't think I've ever had the bonus from a study where there was this sort of lottery to determine who got them.0 -

Absolutely, the lottery aspect was not explained. There may only have been 2 winners from the several hundred participants, but I didn't see that explained anywhere.
The study included a table of possible winnings and a link to a website that 'rolled a dice'. I believed that the winnings were the amount shown in the table, dependant on what the dice roll produced.
I did think it was a very generous study
. I think the old 'if it sounds too good to be true' needs to be applied hereYou are invited to this study because you participated in the 'Survey and decision making' study that took place between 4th and 6th of September 2019.
This is the second part of the previous study. It includes a decision making task. You will have a chance to win an incentive of up to £30.
The study involves control questions. Please read the instructions carefully.Saving a house deposit. Member no.7 100% of target

I did the same one, assuming it was 'News Event Reaction Study'. As the news event was hypothetical and no actual charity organisation was named , the question was probably just to see how willing you'd be to support such a cause rather than an actual payment request. I have had studies in the past though which asked if I'm willing to donate part of my reward to a particular charity or sign a petition - I usually decline unless it's something I support. Sometimes you get told at the end that the question was just to see how concerned you are about the particular issue and that you won't need to really pay/sign anything.
Yes I get that it was theoretical, but why not ask how much you'd be willing to donate and maybe how much you donate per month/year to charity rather than what percentage of the fee you are getting for doing something specific. I mean any percentage of 60p is going to be pretty stingy in absolute terms and not really show how people would donate in reality.0 -
Not doing so well with prolific this month...getting immediate alerts but constantly finding survey places are taken no matter how quickly I attempt to reserve........perhaps not winning the battle against the desk pilots on faster/ modern IT equipment & faster connections. Plus of course Generation Z on latest smartphones.
Thoughts / advice anyone?0 -

I've just joined this site. How long should I expect to wait to see a survey? The "registration" process with all personal questions is quite exhaustive!0

It's all about being there at the right time. You will typically get a few a day if you are there at the right time. It's a have the tab open at all times kind of place rather than a check every so often. There's also the "Prolific Assistant" extension for chrome which can also help alert you to surveys, but sometimes that can be a tease as it might not have places left by time you click through.0
