'course, the irony is that the OP almost certainly can drive a <16 passenger seat minibus on his current licence. What he can't do is drive a >3.5t vehicle, but there's plenty of 12-passenger minibuses that aren't over 3.5t.

And if the passengers are paying - even contributing towards the fuel and rental cost alone - then the mate can't drive anything 9+ passengers legally, either.

If the OP knew how simple the test was in the 60s he'd be even more annoyed!

:rotfl: I’m going to get my licence out, give it a polish and revel in all those outrageous categories it lists. Mmmm.

Gotta go, there’s a box van and trailer with my name on it that’s just begging to be shown a good time in the lanes round here. Toodle-pip, youngsters! :p

In deed, I'm thinking of hiring a mini bus and trailer, then I'm going to figure out what all those extra letters at the bottom of my licence (fklnp) mean and drive those too.

Don't get too excited - it's things like tractors, and walk-behind mowers and pallet trucks...

It's the way of the world, standards change but are not retrospective.
Imagine if every time the building regs changed we all had to update our houses?

Damn it, I actually did my CBT many (far to many to remember) years ago and then never did anything with it anyway. Now I discover I didn't even need to bother!
