OK .... pause breath .... and repeat .......
Do searches to see how many people have been taken to court re JLA .....
hint = 0
(I think I hold the record of 8 seconds stop ... documented on the BBC)
there is a rumour going round that the Albert Hall has been booked for any small claims re JLA do to the interest :eek:
do you understand the industry you have had the misfortune to fall into ?
the comments below where made by our MP's
''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop''; unfair treatment; signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued; ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''; bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank''; extortionate fines; rogue operators; ''sense of injustice''; unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead; ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers''; unreasonable; a curse; harassing; operating in a disgusting way; appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing; loathed; outrageous scam; dodgy practice; outrageous abuse; unscrupulous practices; ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert''; and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.

...and all he got was debt collector letters after that, so this letter is just part of that chain!
This reply didn't really show me how to respond, I didn't know whether you were saying as it was 'just part of that chain' of debt collector letters, which I think you'd advise on here not to reply to, that I should treat it as part of that chain and not respond.
On reading the thread (there's so much to read and far too much to take in on this subject without having to ask lots of questions when I have no previous knowledge on the subject) I'm not sure I have the understanding of things to actually reword the letter, nor dare I ask how I respond (by email, post - recorded or whatever) as I seem to be testing quite a few people's patience with my need for help on this.
So thanks all for the initial help but unfortunately it's probably going to be a step too far for me to get past this point. I don't have much time in the Evening to spend on this and deadlines to respond are looming.
Apologies for having taken up people's time without the end success.0 -
not sure if you are getting the message .....
you will NOT be taken to court
they will not dare ....
why ?
because it will spoil their little game
frightening people .... just like you into paying :eek:
they would sooner loose 5 out of 10 'fake fines' (Hansard) to mug the other 5
in most likelihood the scam (Hansard) will end later this year when MP's debate this again.
You should really re think this .... please

Ignore it then, no worries as long as you don't ignore court papers.

not sure if you are getting the message .....
I'm really not Ralph-y... I've made it clear right from the start that I've struggled with it. It's something that I have no prior knowledge or understanding of and whilst at the start people here seemed happy to answer questions I had, their patience seems to have run out. I really do appreciate everyone's time but some of us need a little more help than being told to google things and being given pages and pages to read through and the assumption that we will be able to pick out cases like ours and copy or even reword things to apply to our specific situation. I do feel that it could have been made more clear at the beginning of the thread that this would be something I would have to put a hell of a lot of time into and that I would need to develop a good understanding of the laws, because I just feel now like I've wasted everyone's time who's been kind enough to respond, as well as my own.Coupon-mad wrote: »Don't actually PAY MONEY to this industry, or you are sponsoring the next PCNs against more vulnerable people and joining/funding this 'outrageous scam' (Hansard)
Thank you for the reply.
I'm actually doing worse than sponsoring the industry - I'm giving them an extra £40 sponsorship on top of what the original charge was. I really do appreciate yours and everyone else's time early in the thread, but as it's progressed that help has been quite vague and there's a definite 'thrown to the wolves' feeling about it. I'm not an educated man, I have a solitary GCSE to my name. I work long days, early starts, a physically demanding job and to enter into this was too big an ask without people who are being kind enough to respond to actually be more specific and, as obvious as my questions might seem to them, just give me that little extra nudge in the right direction.
I know this is likely to come across in many other tones than the one it's intended but please just take it as me telling you how this is from my perspective. I won't miss the £40. The £100 I'd rather was in my pocket than theirs, but it won't put me in the poor house. Others who come here looking for help might be better advised to accept the fine while it's at it's reduced rate rather than embarking on something that they're going to get halfway through and find themselves out of their depth and at times without receiving a straight answer to a straight question. Whilst you people here are very passionate about not the cowboys not getting their hands on peoples money, you really do need to bear in mind that it's other people's money at stake here.
Thanks again for everyone's time and good luck in your quest to rid us of these companies.0 -
I really can not believe that you prefer to pay rather than doing nothing

so if you have decided to .... stuck for words ......... pay, then the least you can do is repay the time spent on this forum by watching the video I linked to a few posts back and then complain to your MP using your self as an example as to how these
''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys '
''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''
bloodsuckers;
rogue operators;
outrageous scam;
dodgy practice;
we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.
get away with it .....

I have not lost patience with you. I know it appears that some people have but they keep saying the same things every day. I understand how you are feeling because I was just where you are now a while back.
Please don't just pay up now. If it makes you feel any better you could keep this going for a couple of years and still only owe them what you owe now. All you have to do is reply to their letters saying you won't pay the invoice. It doesn't have to be fancy. Just keep posting what you receive and I will try and give you a simple reply.0 -
I have not lost patience with you.
A valid option is certainly to ignore them. NEVER to pay them.

Our recommendation for this operator: We have an ongoing interest in this company's activities including any court paperwork. Drop us a line at support@bmpa.eu. We'll see what we can give you on this company and their approach.. Or check using our Parking Ticket Wizard link...

I really can not believe that you prefer to pay rather than doing nothing

Thanks for taking the time to reply Ralph. 'Doing nothing' isn't actually doing nothing.. it's spending more time worrying and having this hanging over me. It's being involved in an argument that I'm told I can win, without being told specifically how I can win it. I appreciate that from your perspective you might think I've just thrown in the towel, but if you read the thread back you will see I asked on numerous occasions for clarification and that wasn't forthcoming - I really don't want to be asking questions about an impending court case (however unlikely you think that might be) and being blanked because people here think I should be able to identify the answers in the information they provide me with.I have not lost patience with you. I know it appears that some people have but they keep saying the same things every day. I understand how you are feeling because I was just where you are now a while back.
Thank you for taking the time to reply Fixtrace. I'm glad you too can see others seem to have lost patience, and I really can see why they would. The same questions day in, day out. But is it really so hard just to give the clarification that people ask for? Some posters who were really helpful at the beginning of the thread even picked out part of a question I asked, telling me bailiffs wouldn't be coming to my door, without answering the 'do I need to respond to this' part which would have told me precisely what I needed to read up on next. It would have taken him literally seconds to point out that I did need to respond and that Coupon-mad had linked an example that I could follow, but for whatever reason, he chose not to.
I can't help but think there are many, many people who get the initial help they require but then get left in the lurch and actually end up bailing out and paying more than the initial charge, and that's something those who offer the advice really do need to bear in mind as that's something some people really can't afford to do. No doubt this thread will sink into the depths of the forum and we'll continue to read great promises of fighting funds and 99% success rates but I feel I must place here on record, there's another outcome to this, and it does everything the people here are purporting to try to avoid by putting more money than is necessary into these company's coffers.0 -
I doubt very much that more than a handful of people who post here, pay in a year.
We get about one person every 4 months say they will pay. People are happy to ignore, always were, always will be; I've ignored PPCs myself before POPLA existed and the letters have been a source of forum amusement for as long as I've posted here:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3829727
No, that was your choice and it's absolutely without question, a wrong choice.it does everything the people here are purporting to try to avoid by putting more money than is necessary into these company's coffers.
The BMPA give free advice too and say the same as us.
I evidenced (with usernames of the two cases lost) the 99% win rate last year when challenged by someone with too much time on their hands, who still couldn't find any more than the cases lost I had recorded in my own MSE wins/losses records, out of hundreds. They looked hard then gave up.we'll continue to read great promises of fighting funds and 99% success rates
Your money though. You are very rare here, believe me.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
