  • What about a little bath toy like a rubber ducky, boat or foam letters?

You could make your own play doh and run off a few personlized labels. I got some mini self seal bags from WHSmith and designed some tags on the computer to stick on them.

You could add any colour you fancy and even some glitter.

Oh FAB idea, I really like this one :T
    WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbs
    Weight today = 17st 6.5lbs
    Loss to date 32.5lbs!!!
  • When I saw the title of this discussion, my immediate thought was "very little". I have found in both giving and receiving party bags, that they are full of little plastic thingies that get flung in the bin as soon as the kids are not looking. BUT - I was thinking of older kids. With little ones, I think you have got it sussed! Raisins and bubbles would be ace. (Personally I wouldnt go over the top with stickers and stuff, as they dont get used. )

    Have a lovely party!

i know, thats why i'm trying to think of useful things, that i wouldnt mind my children to receive.

i think with the older kids, they'd be happy with a 50 pence piece!!

This site sells party bags and toys for them, used them recently and delivery was very quick.

They have things like little pirate figures, animals, bangles, note-books, musical stuff, quite a good selection.

I know a while back I read a thread all about the different types of parties people had held for their childrens birthdays( some moneysaving, others not) and I've tried a search but can't find anything on the subject.
Does anyone know of any relevant threads?
If not, I'd be interested to know what type of parties school age children are having these days. Its my son's in February so I thought I'd start planning soon.
So far, He has been invited to bouncy castle at sports centre ones, Indoor adventure play area with private room after ones, and a disco which wasn't popular with all as they are only 5 and it got a bit loud for them all.
    Any ideas please!

Playbarns are a good bet, they seem to be springing up all over the place Usually 2 hours, include play and food. Brewsters have a similar thing too
    I haven't got one!
