I am a bit put off using Aldi for TV's I have had a few people I know take them back due to being faulty (not this model) 2 different models. It looks a good buy from the spec though.
To Aldi's credit though, no problems getting money back0 -
we have the early model last year and its fine so perhaps just unlucky?my bark is worse than my bite!!!!!!!!0

Being an avid Aldi/Tevion TV enthusiast, I think the "fault" mentioned was in regard to the freeview video-sound out of sync problem.
I assume Tevion have fixed the problem and future models (such as this one) will be fine.
And even if it's not - as said previously, Aldi are excellent for returning goods within 30 days and getting your money back.
Seems to me like a good deal - before the price was announced I estimated £600, so a nice £30 off the good-deal expectation.
In regards to the specification, I believe the contrast ratio / brightness to be "standard" for a 32" TV, so in comparison to high-profile models of 40" TVs, it may be less than standard.
Having said that, my opinion is that any higher than the specification for this Aldi TV is pretty useless unless you're a television-set critic or keen on your 1080p HD DVDs (if you don't understand, it just means "the best" HD which is incredibly rare) - this model is 1080i, the next one down.
Am I waffling? I have a habit of doing so0 -
Better buying a known brand - like a 37'' LG HD LCD tv with built in freeview from PCWORLD for £499.99 - hurry while stocks last only available online0

I also disagree, Tevion sets typically use the same components as well known brands such as Samsung screens and LG tuners (though I don't know if this particular set does).
This set seems better vfm than the PC world one; it has 2 HDMI sockets so you can conect both sky hd and a HD DVD player, and the 3 years warranty is worth quite a few quid as well.From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

I have just received the latest magazine in the post and the advert states that it also includes quote
"free wall backet"
"Free 5 in 1 Universal Remote Control"
"Free 3 year warranty and helpline"

Tevion?
Really, do Tevion really use Samsung screens, Panasonic components and designed by B & O?
Rubbish ! B&Q more like, they use really rubbishy components. It's like comparing a Ford/Vauxhall to a Lexus/Rolls Royce0 -

I think the one Jarrod is referring to is this one;

which is 3" smaller and only has one HDMI socket, but the contrast ratio is better and LG's 'XD Engine' image processing technology is well reviewed - if it were a choice between the two I'd choose this one over the Tevion.
But then I saw this baby;

All this for another £30? It's a no brainer!
The Tevion doesn't look such a good deal now does it?!0
