    Hi Bluedove

May I ask why you wish to do Avon?...

    1) Is it for financial gain?
    or
    2) Another reason?

This above is a serious question.
    for financial gain of course.
Though the vision may not be the true future of man but it can't be completely beyond his control.

I wouldn't bother in that case. Sorry to be so blunt.
  • On the other hand, a friend of mine is an Avon rep and makes a nice sum each month. She's also made a few new friends along the way too, so it's not all bad!

Me, I couldn't motivate myself to go out and collect the catalogues, i'm far too lazy on a rainy night......
My mind not only wanders .......... sometimes it leaves completely
  • so so so tempted by this but something is ringing in my head. I dont ever really fall for sales pitches, from ym work experiences i spot them a mile off but something about the one i've just come across is sounding okay. More research is needed on my behalf I think.
  • Hi.

Me and my wife do Avon and I say Go gor it.

It really depends on the area you have but you will quickly find that out in the first two campaigns if you do it right.

We now have a tidy little customer base bringing in this campaign nearly £800. Yes that right, that makes us 25% and that means £200 for us.

The work is really easy as you only drop the books off and pick them up a few days later. You can easily ask them if they would like a book again and then you dont waste your time delivering books to people for nothing.

    Hope this is ok.

  • My Avon rep leaves me two books so cuts down the time she is out and about and i get to see if something i'm ordering is going to be cheaper in the next book.
We love what we are doing and we love why we're doing it!!
  • I would also say 'go for it' if you are considering Avon for some extra cash. You don't have to do the NM side if you don't want to either.
  • For as long as I can remember I've always wanted to have my own business, earn a 'proper' income, working from home and choose the hours I wanted work. However, due to the fact the I had no particular talent or meaningful qualifications or even disposable cash to buy a business, needles to say I ended up with a 9-5 job lining somebody else’s pocket with not much recognition.

Over the years I had tried things like mystery shopping and whilst you can choose your own hours, the money isn't really anything fantastic and you don't get paid for your travelling time. I tried one or two other things but without any success.

A friend suggested I look at network marketing, but I'm not a salesy type person and thought that it was a form of pyramid selling, which I had had my fingers burnt with several years ago!

However, I watched my friend's network marketing business with some interest as well as alot of scepticism and noticed that she was earning good money around her four children and other commitments.

I asked her how it worked, after all I hate anything to do with sales and had no previous experience in that sort of thing, and in the process learnt that pyramid selling is illegal.

But this was really interesting; here was a way I could earn some serious extra money, around my full time job (with a view to giving it up) with all the support and training I needed.

I did look at other ‘schemes’, but eventually settled on joining an amazing company. I am now earning an additional income around my full time job, working very flexible hours from home as and when I want to.

This is something I would not previously have considered, but would urge other people who are looking to earn some extra money either working full or flexible part time hours to give network marketing serious consideration.

Don’t fall into the trap that I did of forming an opinion without having all the information; but do your homework, there are some very dubious ‘schemes’ around.
