Is it possible to switch credit card to 0% with current bank or do I have to switch?

I currently have around £2500 on a Barclays credit card and the 0% period has now run out, it is possible to ask my current bank to switch to 0% or do I have to switch to another bank?

Do you mean will Barclays allow you to transfer your current 0% to another 0% card with them?

No - Barclays won’t make any money out of you. They make money from people reverting to standard rate and not switching.
  • Yes that’s what I meant. I keep recieving letters from Barclays offering balance transfers to a 0% card but I am assuming this means from another credit card company? So I could switch my current Barclays debt to one of these offers?

You need to look for a 0% BT deal elsewhere or pay off ASAP.

Have they offered you a money transfer as well?

If so, you could take that and then pay off the current balance leaving you with just the money transfer (and fee) to pay off.
