Can I join in again? Going to try for £200 again
Some people are so poor all they have is money ;)
    Jan 2018 GC £165.74/£200 = £34.26 left
    Feb 2018 GC £54/£200 = £146 left
  • Thanks for the new thread. I wnet over budget by £9 in January but I think I know where I went wrong there.
I'm going for £400 again. This is for two adults and four children under age 9.
I'm also going to include alcohol (last month I kept it seperate) but I'm trying to buy it less and think it should really be included to stop me over spending.
My biggest challenge is also kids snacks I think. I bake a lot and have recently switched to cheaper fruit (apples, pears, cucumber, Clementine, raisins). Its things like breadsticks and crisps etc.
I need to start making my own popcorn again and try baking savoury snacks instead of cupcakes all the time.
    Will persevere!
  • Hi,

Please, may I join again? My spend is edging up again so I would like to commit to £120. This will include all food. cleaning materials etc.

  • HI, please can I be added, I’m including only groceries for myself, do, and our two teens as I’m trying to cut back on food spending and waste. My target is £100 a week including any takeaways eaten out and kids lunch money.

    Thanks x

  • Hiya.

$900 for February for me please. This is the lowest I've aimed for yet, partly because it's a short month but partly because I am trying out a plan of meal planning for the entire month and being ruthless about snacks.

Hi All. I'm still in the January thread till the bitter end but want to sign up ready to go on Thursday. Family of 5, all food, cleaning and toiletries. I aim for £100 a week, so £400 for February please.

I have been trying to bake more but I need to tweak my family baking to all vegan, easy to cook, no fancy ingredients which will blow a budget! Anyone help me out? I have a couple of recipes already. Ideally I could do with cupcakes and microwave sponge pudding. Xxx
  • Please can I continue with an Annual spend of £1040.

This is just for me most of the time and DS3 when he comes home from uni. I am including food, everyday cleaners and toiletries, but not pet food or cat litter.

I went over a bit last month but the freezer is now full and I am hoping to spend less in February. Well, it is a challenge.
