Investment Gaurantee Growth bonds are possibly best for those with the full £3000 to invest at the start who then don't think they will need to touch the money for 3 years.
    - its still a far better rate than these 5 year fixed rate ISAs paying 2%

It might suit someone who has just had a regular saver mature and has a lump sum

    Only onsale unti April 10th

Are you able to access the funds early and if so will the rate decrease?

I've got Nationwide RS's maturing tomorrow, Saturday. They usually pay interest on a weekend, so wonder if it'll get credited tomorrow.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

The NS&I 3 year bond offers 2.20% for the full term and does allow early withdrawal but incurs a penalty of 90 days interest on the amount withdrawn.

This equates to an approximate net rate for the following time periods:

    1 year 1.68%
    2 years 1.98%
    2.5 years 2.04%

However, I do not believe that the penalty payment could be offset for tax purposes.

Not in the right ISA area but This Nottingham ISA 8 might be of interest as up to the full £20000 can be deposited over the full year at 2.25% tax free

To open this account: !!!8226; Visit any branch of The Nottingham. !!!8226; You must be a UK resident and at least 16 years old. !!!8226; You will need to fill in an application form and provide proof of your identity and permanent address. !!!8226; You will need a minimum of £10 and can open your account with up to £2,400. !!!8226; You can open the account in your sole name only. Thank you, that's interesting. This may be useful:

'After you’ve opened the account with up to £2,400, you can pay in up to £1,600 in new ISA subscriptions per calendar month.
If you miss any monthly payments your account balance can be made up to £20,000 in March 2019.
    • Our Faster Payment sort code is: 60-95-93. Once you have opened your account this sort code should be used with the 8 digit
account number for all Faster Payments, BACS and standing orders. You will not be able to send payments via CHAPS.'

Saves about £50 of tax if you are liable, compared with the general RSs. This will compete with whatever Virgin throws at us in the coming months. Time for Branson to up his interest rate!

SS has already stated they won't be adding it on here as it's an ISA.

It's the same offering as Notts had last year. 20k at that rate (albeit for only a month) was nice on closure today!

I've never had to queue at my local branch before.... but today there was a longish wait. They said at one point they closed the door to give themselves a break. Clearly a popular product. (both old and new) :)

I did wonder if any MSE'rs were in the queue with me.
