Thank you. Just the info I wanted.0 -
Yes my mistake! - you are correct - there is no point in periodically opening a new RS (I did mean with a different provider). For those with small savings you could open a Coventry BS RS at 2.5% and fund £500 for the first few months and set up a £1monthly standing order for the remaining months.0

I have been very happy with KRBS branch saver - I have relations living near a branch and within an easy drive, so combine a visit to them with opening and closing day, contributing by SO between the two.
I am on my second Saffron and only had to visit the branch in connection with the first one I happened to be driving north so visited on the way.0 -
Unless you are lucky enough to live near a KRBS or Saffron branch, or in the Swansea BS, Ipswich BS area. Or if you are a child, or a FTB.
You only need to pop over to a Saffron Branch to open a RS if you don't have any accounts with them. I applied for an E Saver, as it can be opened online, and then apply for the RS with no issues.
Also, Saffron has now a rewards scheme to get discounts and perks: i.e. 3-4% on Sainsbury's and Tesco0 -

Also, on many non-food items, Quidco and Topcashback will often beat those reward schemes - and have cashback exclusives. Once in a while, HotUKdeals beats all of them. It pays to shop around :cool:0 -

This is good if you haven't got access to a better scheme already. Many employers (e.g. NHS) have those sort of schemes, and usually with better discounts. E.g. 6% for Sainsbury's, 5% on Waitrose/John Lewis, 7% Argos and Curry's on mine atm.

I used to have them with my previous employer (better ones as you said), but not with my current employer. It was a nice addition to their Regular Saver0 -
Just received my cheque for balance of maturity and a passbook for my new regular saver with them which matures 31/01/2021. They have kept the same account number as the maturing one which means no need to change standing order details"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0
