Had the choice, 15.30 today or next week. Guess which I went for :)

Thanks for this. I would never have imagined them launching a new issue at 2pm on the 31st of the month, thus allowing another payment tomorrow, so I wouldn't have checked the website if you hadn't posted.

I opened my Issue 17 account this afternoon.

I know, it is odd! But it's an extra £7.50 for being lucky - near a store and getting an appointment today. I have long felt sympathy for people out of reach of a store, and usually plead their case each time I get the chance. I usually hear that 'they are considering it' or 'it's complicated with the link up with Clydesdale'.

I live very near a store but no appointments today, tomorrow or Monday and will be out and about for a few days so it's Friday for me....

I am old enough to remember the days when for a branch based account with a building society/bank, you just filled in a form, took it to the counter with your initial deposit and the clerk took the cash and issued a passbook - the lord only knows why we need all this appointments malarkey!

It's the amount of security and protection against life's ills that requires the time. Just modern ways against the old times' freedom from crooks, fraudsters, stealing PINs, cloning CCs, etc.

I opened my account this afternoon and did an online payment for today but it is showing on my bank account as being taken on 1/6.

I set up a standing order at the same time but that is showing as 3/6 as are all of my Virgin standing orders.

I expect if the first payment does not go through until tomorrow I will get the second payment back.

I'm in the area tomorrow morning on a different mission, so I'll pay in the second £250 in cash and sort the SO at my leisure :)

I wish it was always so easy!

My Virgin store is a cashless one or I could have done that
