Regular Saver Thread **New and Restarted**

It was quite clear in the terms and conditions the account matured the 30th... maybe you sould read these before complaining.
Would you mind sharing what terms are you looking at?
Before phoning, I looked at the Regular Saver (Issue 10) Summary, which saidInterest is calculated daily and paid on maturity (29 November 2018).The account will mature at midnight on 29 November 2018.On the day after maturity (30 November 2018), your funds (including interest) will be
transferred to an instant access maturity account.
All of which led me to believe the account would mature on the 29th.0 -

For your initial £250 deposit use Faster payments with the sort code 08-61-19 and your account number which is the first 8 digits of the 10 digit account number which you were given. Then 11 £250 standing orders starting on the first of the following month from your deposit month.
Many thanks. That's the sort code they gave me on the phone. I didn't want to print it here in case it related to a specific branch.
I made the initial deposit by debit card, and just assumed I would be able to pay in the same way once the account was running.
I did a thorough search on line but couldn't anything on their website about how to make a deposit.
Oddly, the person that helped me in the phone asked for three digits from my password so he could access my account! Slightly odd.0 -
where_are_we wrote: »Each Penny -Doesn't the fixed maturity date of 04 November 2019 rather negate the benefit? The first two £250 deposits will be in the account for only slightly more than 11 months now, and the 12th deposit would only earn 4 days interest. In effect you 'lost' the opportunity to earn interest in the first month of the term.
Where I said '12th' deposit I meant 13th. Which the Leeds T&C's probably won't allow anyway as the account has a maximum balance of £3000.
The restriction on the account is actually a monthly balance limit which increments by £250 per month. You can make as many deposits per calendar month (or none) as you wish, provided you don't exceed the maximum balance for that month. Therefore as you say, you can deposit £250 per month up to and including October 2019.
But if I understand correctly, you could also open the account today and deposit £500 this month.
I think the rest of my post was correct in that starting a fixed end-date RS account just over 11 months before the maturity date means you have lost one month's interest earning potential for that account."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -
Apologies I have lost the plot!
I have two issues of the Leeds Reg Saver, issue 4 and issue 17.
Can I open issue 21?
thanks0 -

You can apply for the 2% TSB Monthly Saver online now.
I tried applying moments ago but it fell over at the last step. Now I don't have the account visible on my Internet banking and I can't reapply because it says I already have one. Hopefully it'll show up tomorrow so that I don't need to contact them.0 -

Thanks for the heads up.
Hopefully they'll have sorted the process so it's successful soon!0 -

Finally - have been waiting for this account to make an appearance online for several months!
On a side note - their classic plus is also available online. I may have to go and experiment.:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member
