What about that KFC advert with the three women in a call centre singing with their mouths full? A fine example to the kids.
And any ad with Michael Winner. Pretentious idiot, who is too full of himself. Does anyone read his restaurant feature in the Sunday Times? He regularly boasts about spending £200 on a bottle of wine and £2000 a night at some crappy resort in Barbados. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Being nearly 8 months pregnant, I seem to have developed a very unfortunate and sad knowlegde of day time TV. It's all diabolical, and I can't stress enough that I do switch over/off if required. The worst of the worst includes:
1. Cash in the attic/Boot sale challenge/Car Booty/that other one that used to have David Dickenson in, but now it's that other guy who I think may wear a monacle? (you get the idea - it's all the same old drivel)
2. This Morning, "And today we'll be talking to Mum's who breastfeed their 5 year olds" - or "and today, we'll be discussing all your medical problems that you are too embarrassed to go to the doctor's about" - no thanks!
3. Loose women - a load of nobodies spouting opinions that nobody cares about anyway.
4. People's Court - one of the chaviest programs on TV these days, and they've thrown in Carol Smilie for good measure.
5. ANY program with a phone-in poll. (All of the above probably have these).
And then when you do get to evening/prime time slots, they fill it up with Soaps that just recycle the same old plots again and again (how many different times do people actually get married in these bloomin soaps?), or makeover shows, or blimmin talent shows (X Factor, American Idol, Pop Idol, Pop Stars the Rivals, Junior Eurovision, Eurovision, World Idol, Fame Academy, Celebrity Fame Academy, Dance Fever, Strictly Come Dancing, yada yada yada - it's boring even typing it!), or Bond Movie repeats.
Things I do like... League of Gentlemen, Little Britain, Question Time, any Poirot/Cracker type dramas - it's just the rest of the cheap drivel thatgets my goat."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

Don't have a telly any more but could never understand why so much air time is devoted to football, cricket, rugby, snooker, darts, formula1, athletics, horse racing, golf, tennis etc etc etc... Just as bad is the endless hot air commentary after the game, tournament, round etc etc etc...
It used to make me wonder when some event or other was screened live on both BBC and ITV...why???0 -
Tee hee. You got all my favs on this thread - still they do say it takes all sorts. what do I hate:
football clashing with my fav soaps
Hollyoaks (see some i dislike)
Farming and religion programmes on a sunday
Heartbeat
anything to do with space travel (blakes seven star trek - now that really is sad)
snooker0 -
I hate celebs
reality
soaps (now inc. The Bill)
makeovers, whether they are of houses, gardens or people
films (except some old British ones -- mainly war films or comedies)
nearly anything American or, worse still, Australian
many sitcoms, esp. middle class ones and "men behaving boorishly" types
breakfast TV
chat shows, esp. if hosted by that sycophant, Michael Parkinson
most drama, esp. medical
motoring programmes (in spite of my job)
horse racing and show jumping
almost all adverts (exc. some humorous, self-deprecating ones), esp.for hair care and other cosmetic products
etc.0 -

Those Test the Nation quizzes. One of the worst cases of flogging a dead horse ever.
Just about anything on ITV and BBC1 on Saturday evenings.
Or should that be just about anything on ITV and BBC1 on any evening.
The Weakest Link and most other dumb quiz shows.0
