Havn't been on for ages but I did drop off the CS bag today after I put in a decent nightshirt that was too short for me (when nipping out to get the milk in with no knickers on!!) Luckily I live in a fairly quiet road and only bend down with my back to our house lol. Sainsbugs had a nice one with puddy tats on it and 25% off so had to be done ;)
I also managed to offload half a dozen matching jam jars. Ive got a small mending job to do for DS1 & then I can get rid of that and my sewing machine put away.
Siebrie, your daughters sound absolutely beautiful & from what you say about them they are lovely kind girls.
Slinky - when my kitchen was fitted a few months ago I finally had the door put on my integrated dishwasher....only had it 4 years! You wouldnt believe how happy it made me ;) Well done you on sourcing a decent SH one.

Siebrie Thank you for telling us about Brother Juniper! I hadn't heard of him but have enjoyed myself looking at the cartoons.
Your DD is very clever to be teaching herself English, and she has a very good teacher in her Mum :)

I chucked out a veggie burger! The local supermarket had handed out vouchers to try a package of 2 for free, and I fried 1 last night. The label said 'product of the year 2019', but it was awful! Really soya-y and overly salt.

I have been trying to add something into the CS bags most days. I wore a jumper the other day that has too wide a neckline for my narrow frame so that will be washed and added. Today I found a cardi/jacket in the CS that I can layer up over tunics etc, need to find another item to make it 1 in 2 out if I can.

I bought a new sandwich toaster recently and it is a bit bulky, I need a big kick up the derriere to re-organise kitchen and utility cupboards to make space for it. I rarely cook for more than 2 these days which means that I should be able to Kondo some large dishes and pans.

Thinking of pans, one of life's little ironies is that now I am able to afford lovely cast iron pans and cookware, my arthritis is so pronounced that I am unable to pick them up empty let alone full:rotfl:

    Me too!

When I got married nearly 40 years ago i was given 13 glass casserole dishes with ugly flowers encrusted on the sides (and 7 quiche plates) but I lusted after the orange cast iron brand....
I literally dreamed of the set of pans hanging in that pretty pine rack :o I finally acquired one solitary casserole but lost it in the divorce :rotfl:
Like you, arthritis has put a dent in my cast-iron aspirations :o

Yay, success, kondo'd a rat in the trap next to the hole between our garden and our neighbour. Worryingly it had been in our garden heading to theirs instead of the other way round. Have rebaited the trap and ratty is now in a sealed plastic yogurt pot in our freezer until the black bin waste goes in 10 days.

Ragbag: dh's holey underpants. He has 2 more pairs that are nearing their end; I put them at the top of the pile all the time, he puts them at the bottom of the pile all the time :D
DD2's pyjama pants (holey, waistband lost its stretch)
1 sock that lost its stretch

I've moved the pans and pots cupboard around, so now the frying pans (that we use a lot) are at the front and the lightweight plastic mixing bowls and such are at the back.

I bought myself a new Braun handmixer, and will donate the Kenwood Pattissier. I never could get the hang of it, and always ended up with lumpy dough, a dirty machine and dirty hands and sleeves.

Looked in my card drawer for a birthday card for a friend and saw I'd stashed in there a gift box of notelets, notepaper and envelopes given to me a few years ago still in their cellophane wrapping and some card blanks and envelopes I'd bought intending to make some cards. They have now been donated to the hospice craft shop ;)
Slinky - rats are the only creatures that give me the willies! I can cope with frogs, toads, snakes and spiders but not rats. Good job you've managed to catch one
I actually don't like cast iron cookware precisely because it's so heavy when empty, let alone full. I do have a lovely cast aluminium pot though, much lighter ;!

I'm about to start writing the Christmas cards I made earlier this year to clear some space in my craft stash. Please note, I have bought NO cards this year - usually it is at least three boxes because I like the pictures or because they are a "bargain":o

This year should see the end of the printed Xmas wrapping paper stash. Once that is gone we will be using paper that can be recycled or fabric bags (to use up my Xmas fabric mountain :o:o:o)

Slinky - I'm glad you have caught the rat! And, you have reminded me I need to defrost my freezer ....:A

Strolling in late I'm not sure I want to examine that logic.

Please, check the Met forecast before defrosting & "work with nature".

I defrost more often when I can empty the food into laundry trugs & shove them outside (into also freezing temperatures) for half an hour whilst I ply the freezer with boiling water & attitude. A final once-over with a bicarb solution, power back on & lug the food back indoors. Well, bid son lug "so he can pick what we're having for supper". (I'm a devout believer in child labour, and even the teenagers cooperate over matters of food.)
