Make sure he spruces himself up before you do...
Oh I'm the one with the joyous job of the sprucing. He just stands and grimaces whilst I shove the clipper round his ears and nostrils. He needs a trim so will be sorted... as soon as I can locate the clipper!Make £2025 in 2025

4 more sets of cozee home bedding out to charity shops today. I cannot be doing with sleeping in fleece any more,. Am replacing with flannelette, much better for my sleep pattern. I didn`t have to dither after the test last night. I slept all through0

I never sleep in anything synthetic, I don't even want to have (part) synthetic curtains in the room. They seem to suffocate me, and make me sweat like crazy. and that does not spark joy!
Something that did spark joy, but was a bit expensive: hair extensions for dd1 (11)! Someone recommended this hairdresser, and she was really good; hardly any pain for dd1. This is the first time ever! She has been to about 5 hairdressers over her lifetime, and they all were very impatient, and caused a lot of pain and trauma. DD2 (8) will go to the same hairdresser for extensions on Tuesday (with husband; I wonder how that will turn out - if he is strong enough to make dd2 finish the session. She has a habit of crocodile tears to get out of things and he usually falls for it. I have now seen this hairdresser in action for three hours and know she is really gentle). Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
Am just making up a donation bag to go the chazzer on the way home from work tomorrow. Presently 4 glass storage jars and an item of clothing, will have to see what else I can scare up this evening.
Have wrapped a couple of small gifts this evening in some (ahem) pre-loved paper. We're ardent re-users in our family and some of these wrapping papers have had several go-rounds already, these particular bits are on their last knockings, I reckon.
Looking forward to the week off work and the time with the family, not to mention some feasting and fun and games.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Nice to see you on the thread again, GQ!
Ragbag: 1 washed dress-up dress that has unmovable stains, 1 pair of pants, 1 sock.
Donation box: 1 bag, 1 dress-up dress, 2 T-shirts, 1 man's shaving handle (Wilkinson Hydro, I believe)+ 2 knives (unused knives still in their little container, handle cleaned thoroughly; together in a baggy)
Recycling: another man's shaving handle (Gilette, I seem to remember. It's metal, anyway).
DDs have decorated the christmas tree, but they fell out, and now it's only half done. I will fill it up this evening
More and more items are thrown out! I ask people to put away their things in their proper places about 3 times, and when they don't, and I walk past it, I pick it up and throw it out (responsibly...). A mess does not spark joy in anyone, and apparently, my housemates need to learn the hard wayAre you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
Sadly I have to report our Christmas tree lights have died. These were a very precious set, over 50 years old, which had been on Grandparents, parents and my tree. They made it through our house move this year and worked OK for a few days, but there was a bit of a scorching smell and yesterday they packed up. I've taken them off the tree and discovered that one bulb has melted the flower fitting and all of the rest of the bulbs have blown. Can't get the bulb out of the melted fitting, and don't really think I can risk them again even if we could get them going. I do have enough spare bulbs. Such a shame, feeling sad. I think I will keep them as a momento and memory of happy times in the past.Make £2025 in 2025

Slinky, can you cut out the one failed light, and reattach the little cables (with a connector block, but that may be very ugly)? Maybe it was just caused by the little bulb not being screwed in tightly enough.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590

If only my late father was still with us, he would probably be able to give it a good go, as he was an electrician, but I don't think that would work Siebrie. It's a 20 bulb set, I think it needs all 20 bulbs otherwise the others get overloaded and the bulbs blow.Make £2025 in 2025

Whilst we've had the tree up for almost a week, we haven't had any other decorations yet - started doing them tonight and several have made their way into the CS box - will drop them off tomorrow morning in the hope that they can sell some in the next couple of days.....I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200

I'm going to try (again) to persuade the 'rents to part with some of their Xmas decs, as they have so many baubles that there was overmuch for the fullsize tree and is far too many for the small tree.
I have been considering the Pyrex and have decided that several pieces can be rehomed via the chazzer. I may take a couple of pieces tomorrow but may leave the bulk of it until the New Year as tomorrow is my last potential donation day until 2020.
Was just listening to a livestream of a yoo toober I follow who had a fascinating idea - allow thrift stores to 'store' your unneeded belongings. Donate what you don't need, let others get the benefit, and buy again (secondhand) as and when needed.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
