Paint job in the garage has finally been completed this weekend. We also moved the clematis next to the pergola. We've got a minor repair to the trellis section as there was a slat missing. We reported it to the garden centre, they reported it to their supplier, and instead of sending a single slat, they've sent a whole new trellis section. We may be able to use the rest of the panel to replace some old trellis on the front of the house.
I've caught some sort of bug and have a nasty cough/sore throat. OH has caught it off me and is about 3 days behind where I am. Can't wait to kondo this!Make £2025 in 2025

For St Nicolas (5 or 6 December, depending on the region) I regifted dds some very large bathtowels I had 'pre-inherited' from my Aunt and Uncle when they downsized 3 years ago. The towels had been in my attic waiting for a goal. I hadn't wanted to 'send them on' because they were such good quality and still in very good condition, and now the DD1 had been asking for one for some time, they had found their goal.
Into the ragbag: one white girl's dress DD2 was outgrowing, and then decided to wear while making a painting, and not putting an apron on. The stains won't come out
For a friend's 50th birthday party last Saturday I bought some bright red shoes. I danced on them for 4 hours, and my toes were crying for help, but I got many compliments, and my toes stopped hurting as soon as I took the shoes off, without any blisters. This may sound weird, but that's a win in my bookAre you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -

Please, check the Met forecast before defrosting & "work with nature".........
We do.
As I live near the sea we rarely get snow, but we certainly are scoring high numbers on bitter wind and rain right now, so it is ideal weather.
I open the back door and the kitchen window and place the freezer drawers on the work tops, as my back and his heart don't agree with lifting. Our nearest child labourer is 150 miles away, unfortunately.
A bit of old carpet to contain escaped moisture, the kettle on and off we go....I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
I know many of us like to find a good home for things that we no longer have any use for.
I just heard about this on the radio, and it would be a wonderful use of any children's books or pyjamas that might be getting cleared out on the run up to Christmas.
This young man wraps a pair of pyjamas and a children's book so that on Christmas eve children living in Womens shelters can have a present and a bedtime story on Christmas eve.

Ragbag: 1 sock, 1 pair of pants.
It's my birthday on Friday and I have sent husband a small list of items I'd like. I think he went off-list and bought me a phone, if I judge dd1's excitement correctly(she will get my old phone).
Donation box: 2 pairs of girl's shorts. DDs have many pairs already and these are a bit meeh.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
DD1 had expressed an interest in visiting a hairdresser! A friend of our's had a hairdo dd1 liked, so we went and had a chat with the hairdresser. We made an appointment for next week: 4 hours for detangling and braiding.....
Meanwhile, at the hairdresser's, dd2 said she would like a new hairdo, too. So...., the hairdresser had an hour before the next appointment, we detangled dd2's hair as much as possible, the hairdresser washed dd2's hair, decided to cut off the braids in the neck, then washed twice again... (I'm a lousy mum....) and dd2 was sooooo happy, really shining and grinning about her new short hair. She's sporting a lovely bouncy afro nowAre you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
At last we're able to use the lounge. Extra sofa has been moved to the garage. I've emailed a charity with photos of it asking it's of interest to them. Not entirely sure if they cover our area. If not there are some others I will try.
Christmas decs are up, has been fairly straightforward to decorate even though we've moved since last year. We have a tree in the lounge and the dining room. We moved the dining room table also which makes it easier to walk round. Used the table to eat at for the first time since moving here in July.
On the rat front, spotted a tail sticking out of the rat box when sorting out the Christmas lights in the garden today. When OH went to empty it, he discovered it was still alive, so he had to despatch it. Not pleasant. So that's one in the freezer again. The previous one only went in the bin collection this week. It seems we catch one just after the fortnightly collection for black waste.Make £2025 in 2025

Having finally got our pergola up, we decided to decorate it with some Christmas lights. Bought a battery set as we don't have an external plug at the moment. Yesterday morning the cat flaps were indicating their batteries were on the way out, so we replaced them to ensure moggy has full access to the house still. We decided to be moneysaving and use up the last of the power in the garden lights. Had a twinkly evening, OH was all set to go out into the dark and turn them off at 10pm, when coincidentally they ran out of charge saving him the bother! We have 5 more used batteries, the lights take 3, so another 3 will be going out tonight, and I've identified OH's nasal hair trimmer as a potential donor of a used battery to make up a 3rd set.Make £2025 in 2025

Make sure he spruces himself up before you do... back when dinosaurs roamed the earth my dad took the plug off something he considered a little used item and attached it to the Christmas tree lights.
My mother was furious when, dripping wet and in curlers, she found her hairdryer out of action on Christmas Eve!
In those days you had to put your own plugs on things, and they must have been incredibly expensive because I was a teenager before they finally bought one for the Christmas lights......I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
still at the KM, albeit slowly. Back from a cs this morning, donated 2 fleece fitted sheets and 4 fleece pillowcases, all new. I am going off fleece, its cosy but sparks and doesn`t breathe and I think that is what wakes me, too hot at times in the night and well past hormones. I kept the 2 single duvet covers, not ready to let everything go, yet. They will do for winter duvet covers for 2 spare beds
I have ordered 2 single sets of 100% cotton flanelette, got my fingers crossed, ordered the better quality and hoping they wash well and will last. If I am happy all through winter, then I will donate more full sets. I still have 4 x full single sets in fleece . It was much easier downsizing dishes0
