My energy seems to have been sent elsewhere in the last few months. I know there are a few “spoonies” about, I’ve been doing some spoonie adaptations which are not strictly Kondo but here you are....
I bought the silicone oven mats, I had been using foil when grilling or baking. Now have two re-usable easy to clean mats. Less waste, less £ spent on foil.
I started using an old plastic picnic set (which was taking up space/rarely used) actually found it easier drinking from plastic cups, plates are fine for snacks/ dry foods. As a result I’ve had a lot of use out of something, plus I have now purchased a few cheap, thin, lightweight plates (50p, Iykea) and cheap forks (£1land) I have stored my old heavy (but lovely) crockery and cutlery in bags in an awkward shaped cupboard which had been empty. Day to day, washing up is much easier with lightweight stuff, but for “special occasions” with visitors, I will get the nice stuff out.
I got a sodastraem. I love fizzy water and was buying bottles of the stuff (heavy, inconvenient, expensive) now I have fizzy on tap! Am also drinking more water and less of the diet caffeine drink (rhymes with “broke”) 😀
I Will admit to being a sock folder...I rarely wear them though. I did find they rebelled against folding until I cut up a cereal box lengthways to create a “tube” to contain them. I did a few of these sections and covered them with some cheap printed scented drawer liners I had.

Several viewings on the house this afternoon, agent seems to think things went well and have asked people to get back to her on Monday.

Hopefully we will get a suitable offer from a proceedable buyer, so we are able to relax about keeping the house so tidy. And I will stop kondoing money on flowers - never bought so many!

I've been reading a facebook group related to where we are moving to, with people complaining about inconsiderate parking near the park and up the street we're moving to. Slightly concerning about being able to get a removal van up to our house if we move in the school holidays. It's OK during a normal week, but busy on Saturday mornings when kids are playing football in the park, but the cars are usually gone by the middle of the day from our street. Will have to check with our new neighbour what it's like for access in the summer.

Kondo some money today that gave me and the kids a buzz. Wasn't in the plan but i scrimp so much that it was nice and apt for the glorious weather. They'd come for the drive to get petrol and strawberry plants to get the allotment raised bed started - plan is that it should take care of it self once sorted!

There is a gorgeous cake shop near the plant shop that has daily hour queues at opening time as it is that good. DD1 loves cake, i mean LOVES cake and has wanted to go for ages. She got a massive cake jar. The other child is not a big cake fan, which i think shocked the assistant but settled like me on a more simpler choice!
The shop we were getting the plants from did not have any so it made me chuckle as i thought I might as well nip to the garden centre. Didn't tell the girls who didn't realise until we were about a mile in the opposite direction. Once there, they wandered and found me sat at a table in the cafe overlooking the river. So tranquil. It only has the 'posh' bottled fizzy soft drinks which i seldom buy as they can be pricey but the quality moments were worth every penny!

Now back to getting the things gathered for the eBay car boot job lot that i want to get on so house can breathe a bit more.

Still no idea what to put in the empty tub in the kitchen cupboard.
Don’t put it down - put it away!

:) Have been over with the 'rents for a few days and am now back. Some things from theirs have come to mine, on their way to charitable donation/ specialist recycling. A large square cushion that Mum made for Nan, and which came to mine when we cleared Nan's bungalow 2.5 yrs ago is now on the way back to Mum, she has a purpose for it and I don't.

I have also rehomed one of her spare Therm0s flasks, to replace one of mine which broke (I have a 1 litre and a 1 pint, not a fleet, I hasten to add).

Weather's glorious and has been for days, so pleased for all us Easter holiday-makers and daytrippers and lolling-in-gardeners.

Husband has bought his ticket for a month long visit to his family in Africa, where his half sister (who is living in The Netherlands) will join him. He will buy a second hand car here, fill it with the mountain of stuff we have collected in our attic, and ship it to Africa, for his use when he is there, and to sell it afterwards. The profit should be enough to cover his ticket. The stuff in the attic includes two child's bicycles :)

If the renovatio pre-work moves along, we will start next summer, which means that I (let's be honest here...) have one year to get rid of any excess items. Lots of stuff to sell that I just never got round to.

Fantastic day for a bootsale yesterday, it was huge and so busy. Knowing I didn't want to bring stuff home I sold it all at silly cheap prices. Just 2 bags of stuff left for the charity shop and £110 profit in my pocket (and I was home in time for lunch).

I've got several bits of furniture that will need to go before the move but DD1s partner is just moving from a flat to a house so we've offered him first refusal and he wants the lot.

:T That's a super result, Pooky, and how fab to have it done and dusted by lunchtime, too. I bet your buyers are happy and you're ahead by cash and space, so a win-win.

On Saturday, at the 'rents, I spent a happy 3-4 hours or so sorting out a huge pile of boxes of books, magazines and packaging materials. Have reduced the height of the pile by a good two feet, broken down several knackered boxes for recycling, and got all the j i ffy bags neatly stashed by size in a plastic crate, and all the bubble wrap etc rolled up and disciplined with elastic bands. Since it's Kid Bruv's packaging stash, it's anyone's guess how long the orderliness (anything from days to up to a fortnight, based on experience :p) will last but I enjoyed doing it and it's made the room a bit more pleasant to live in.

Home is a bit of a state as I came in yesterday morning, dropped stuff, went allotmenteering, came in exhausted, stripped the bed, dropped more stuff and then went to bed. At some point today I really really must do some tidying, lol.:rotfl:

Tomorrow, I will take some Stuff to the chazzer after work, stuff which came up from the 'rents and is temporarily taking up space in the micro-flat. That cannot be here one day longer than necessary, or I shall go do-lally.

Today's cunning plan is easing into the day then heading allotmentwards with food, tea, lotsa water and starting to sow Little Seeds; parsnips, beetroots, carrots, radish. I am also now building a witches brew of fertility into the runner bean trenches Dad kindly dug for me yesterday - lined with newspaper, they are going to hold compost, manure, barley grains and anything else I can get my paws on. Beans like richness.

:j Oh, and the spuds planted on 24th of March are coming up through the baulks, hooray!

    Brilliant result, Pooky! :T

Sold a couple of items via fb00k in the past week (one lot of money to DD, 1 lot to hol fund), gave 2 items away via fb00k and took a few bags of stuff to CS. Also have a good pile of items building up for shoebox appeal. DS2 has almost finished totally blitzing his room (should get last bit done today) and this has seen much stuff leave to recycling, some donated, a small amount passed on and a small amount binned. A torn pair of his trousers has been converted to shorts - and he is delighted with them! :T We have a large bag of clothes for recycling (mainly torn jeans, tshirts with lots of holes) which we will take to HnM this week and buy new jeans for DS1, using the £5 voucher we'll get from HnM :T

I have a large item (physically and decent amount of ££) on fb00k and have masses of interest, so that should also go this coming week - which will be extremely pleasing! Have also used a full pot of fence stain on 4 panels - have another 2 pots left which should hopefully just see me through finishing the fence (been a very piecemeal job) - but will need to buy some more for better coverage in some areas.

Already have a new CS bag building up, too.... :)

A good Easter break for getting things done/ getting things gone here :T :T

I took a large bag of clothes to one of my favourite charity shops en route to DS1s on Saturday only to find it was closed, still it saved me buying anything! Anyway I dropped the bag into another CS just along the road and picked up a game for DGD for £2.

Last week I took a half tub of the dreaded Autumn Gold fence paint to the community garden, they were happy with it. I've changed colours of fence so this was surplus. Also took a couple of opened tins of emulsion to the tip, I must get this cellar sorted!
