GQ - actually the roll on the boat is more of the 'industrial' type rather than kitchen. Used for getting oil and grease and the green slimy weed off your hands (not to mention lumps of guano!!!
My old kitchen bowls end up in the greenhouse too ;) Many years ago I was given a tip for planting bulbs that need to be lifted - make lots of holes in a bowl and plant them and bury the whole thing - makes lifting them much easier.

Silva......genius idea for planting bulbs. Thanks for that.

Any ideas for plastic laundry baskets. The lady who lived here left 4. :rotfl:, god knows how many plastic plant pots and several mop buckets.

I had a new bottle of multivitamins, I took 1 tablet yesterday and it was all fine, I took another one this morning at 9 and started burping straight away, am still burping at 10pm, so they are in the bin.

A few clothes hangers removed from dds wardrobe, as they were sized for toddler sized clothes. They are still in good nick and will be donated.

Summer coats washed, dried, and in the attic for next year. Old slipper booties in the attic (still fine, but too thin for these temperatures), new booties (St. Nicolas gift from me to me last December :)) on my feet.

The vine and redcurrant have been pruned, the redcurrant prunings have been stuck in the ground to root. I am trying to grow a boundary hedge in my backyard, made from redcurrant bushes. It'll be a fun and fruitful object in my garden :).

It's national reading week (as in: someone reads someone else a story) and I have read to both dds' classes today. I could get used to this life :D

Had to empty my wardrobe to properly look for something and sort out the rails in there. Result = 2 tops to CS, 5 to fabric recycling. 1 pair of shoes recycled.

ETA: was in the garage this afternoon getting something out - so also got out: 2 empty cardboard boxes recycled, a nearly-empty can of paint set ready to go to tip (RC), a bottle of wine removed to give to my mum because we have loads of the stuff and don't drink as much as we get given!!

:o I've found a way of decluttering a lot of bits of paper with note to self, books I might be interested in etc.

The 'sticky notes' function on the computer desktop - it's lifechanging, lol. I can now see my physcial desktop and *gasp* make use of it! :o

I've just caught up on a couple of weeks' postings. Sorry to hear about your uncle, Siebrie. We had a lovely few days away fulfilling a childhood dream of mine to see the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. We visited some of the many Christmas markets there but only came away with some nougat and a few small tree decorations, and a couple of fridge magnets. I don't know if it's just me, but there seems to be an increasing trend for enormous baubles, which we'd struggle to get on our 2 medium sized trees. Big isn't beautiful as far as I'm concerned. We managed to find 2 tiny glass reindeers with gold antlers, which came home in my hard soapbox, for protection.

Unfortunately the big orange and white airline managed to break the handle on our suitcase. We were nearly 3 hours late arriving back and there was nobody to report it to at the airport at 1.30am. OH phoned the number and left a message. Of course, nobody has called us back. I've done some digging about and have located some possible replacement parts, we just need to have a good measure and compare before ordering. I hope we will be able to effect a repair ourselves as the suitcase has only had half a dozen outings and I'd be annoyed to have to ditch it just because the drag handle is broken, but it would be very difficult to use without the handle. We've decided life's too short to do battle with the airline about getting it repaired.

I managed to shift a boxfile of old paperwork this week, last bit of the stuff that came out the loft a few weeks back. OH was out on the day the bins were emptied......so managed to shift it along without arguments. Some of it was shredded, which reminds me, the shredder needs emptying again.

Had a sort out in the garage. Bins, recycling and car boot are looking fuller than they should at this stage of the week.

I really need to do a tip run, but have to bribe someone with a van and/or trailer...
