KonMari 2018 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

Thanks for that but I can't see it happening!
Arrgghh, the flipping monitors saga continues. We were away visiting friends at the weekend, so despite having delivery dates of this week, the monitors and 3 other parcels not expected til this week, all turned up and were taken in by our neighbours. OH has discovered they've sent the wrong type of monitors - which don't have the HDMI connectors OH wanted. So we're having to send them back........ and order some more. What's the betting we're out when they turn up......Make £2025 in 2025

I have been feeling so tired and demotivated today, so decided to give myself a kick up the rear and try on some Winter clothes. Sadly 2 lovely dresses and 1 tunic still too big so now folded neatly with some other bits ready for CS. Really pleased to find that my lovely black jersey shift dress looks great with a fine roll neck sweater worn underneath as a pinafore dress, will look great with opaques and my new black boots:D
4 Phillipa Gregory books offered to and accepted by next door neighbour, then will be passed to her SisIL and later on to my preferred charity shop (coincidence:D)
I can see a small space in the book shelves, but sadly more books than space, a work in progress. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
I've been chatting elsewhere about sleeping bags ... I have an old "mummy" type one sitting in my airing cupboard, it's not been used in literally 20 years. I'd never go camping again, and if I did need a sleeping bag (to "bug out" or, more realistically, to sleep in a hostel on my round the world trip
) there's no way I'd use that. So. The stuff bag, I'll use that for myself if the bag as a whole goes to recycling. Thing is, it needs a wash, as its been used maybe 20 times, and the label specifically says not to wash it - I don't know how you're expected to clean it. Any suggestions what I can do? Nice ones, please :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I've washed all of ours over the years and then line dried.
Our local homeless shelter is on the look out for sleeping bags this time of year - a similar org local to you might be? Can't do Sally Army, but a homeless charity would be great, thanks for that.

Karma! Find someone with a wood stove: we're always looking for dry kindling!
I helped the county arb guys tidy up a site less than 200 metres distant by taking the equivalent of a barrow load of small oak branches away, and saving them from the shredder. Just stuff I carried on my shoulders and under my arms, but the three short journeys were worth it, or will be in two years when it's seasoned.
The sort of tidying I like. The rest of the house is a bit meh. I do like my books..0 -
The guy over the road from me has a woodburner, a quarter of his double garage is stacked full of wood (he's a carpenter!) and he didn't want the nice clean branches
no one would go for the kindling/twiglet stuff - I kid you not, I'm burning the stuff thats the diameter of a couple of pencils. The stuff thats 2" - 3" is very rare in my garden :rotfl: but I do know what you mean.

More things left yesterday including a broken pyrex lid. That will need to be replaced at some point and we'll keep an eye on charity shops.
I have just discovered that Christmas is 7 weeks today and we'll be going away 2 days before. Our goal was to have the Kondoing finished by then - after all I've been at it for several years now - so although we're making progress it doesn't feel fast enough.
At least every single thing which leaves our homes is one less thing to clutter us up and if we don't finish in time, at least we will have made strides towards our goal.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0
