1 white work shirt that I was given and wore a few times, in the ragbag.
Went 'shopping' with dds yesterday (for their pleasure - definitely not for mine) and bought a few St. nicolas presents already (they picked, I paid) ,that I have put in the attic and told them to forget about
Have decided I need to kondo flabby bodyparts, so have changed to tea all day (no sugar no milk), no biscuits, only one licorice after lunch, only food at mealtimes.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
Was out and about with my bezzer this morning and she suggested we go to X (an out of town chazzer specialising in craft materials which is open seven days a week).
I went (:o) and was very disciplined and only bought two hanks of tapestry wool for a mending project. I did buy one of those wicker bottle carriers (was on the wants list) and vac'd the dust from it, washed it and it is airdrying and will be in use tomorrow. It is part of Project Kitchen, an attempt to make the countertops easier to keep clean and more usable. Bottle carrier is to hold three bottles I use daily (olive oil, apple cider vinegar and honegar) with one vacant slot for whatever vaguely-cylindrical article is homeless that day.
Been gardening this afto, clearing couch grass tussocks on Plot2. Have found underground; a pair of seceteurs, a housebrick, many nails inc one ancient handmade example, lots of plastics, a tent peg, bits of glass and bits of china, and some random bits of rusty metal which fall into the category of ?????
I also brought down a cracked plastic bowl and have put in the bin. It was sort-of useful for dry things, but I have containers which don't have big cracks in them and can be used for liquids and dry things, so this one has had to go.
Allotments and their allied sheds, greenhouses etc are holy terrors for attracting clutter. I've vowed to deal with one cluttery thing per visit, until they're all gone. Onwards!Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I have today bought the book
bit daunted when she says it usually takes 6 months, and was expecting a bit more of a 'recipe' (though admit i've only read half the book). hoping this thread can see me through the next 6 months. i have let the dogs know they bring me joy (and the husband has long gone rofl). i only really have saturdays to do this. is this going to work for me?

Yes it will work it can take as long or short time as you want there are no rules. Pick something easy to start with, most people start with their undies drawer and then take it from there. Many people on here are veterans at it and will be more than happy to give you encouragement or help as and when you require it. Let us know how you get on good luck xx0 -
that's helpful shanks i couldn't get past the putting all my clothes on my bed and not getting through them all by the end of Saturday. will let you know how i get on next saturday :-)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

It is definitely doable, just break things down into smaller categories - for example, you don't have to do all your clothes at once, you could just do tops - or even just t-shirts, cardigans/sweaters another day, and so on.
It gets easier as you go on, because your ability to decide what sparks joy becomes stronger. It really is life-changing.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -

It's in an industrial unit on the edge of another town, only accessible to me by car when the bezzer gives me a lift. They do books, too - envy is a terrible thing.............. :rotfl:

Hi DD <<waves>>
Don't be daunted - just break things down into manageable 'chunks'. if chucking all your clothes on your bed is too daunting just do one category - even socks. do they have holes in? Do they disappear into your shoes, do you simply hate wearing a particular pair? have you got more e.g. black socks than any one person needs? When you put like things together it gives you a focus to see which ones you want to keep. Then do other undies, tops, pyjamas, knitwear for example.
then move onto something like kitchen ware or books or DVDs. it soon becomes habit forming
I don't post much here any more as i am largely done (within the confines of having clutterbug DD back home).
I have kondoed a couple of books - I've just been on hols somewhere with no wifi, and did a lot of reading (leaving a couple on the bookshelves at the accommodation). Have taken a bit of a step back from things like facebook to make more time to read so hoping a few more will go. I also kondoed a floor mop cover thing (technical term) the floor mop went ages ago but, you know, Justin...
Also i am finishing some knitting WIP so that i can start something else, using wool from the stash.
Still have the bl00dy filing cabinet though..... This week, this week....I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
It's crazy how small things can stop you, isn't it? I have to submit doctor's invoices to the insurance company, and have run out of labels (Belgium, complicated system)... ordered them and it will take 10 days! Now I am out of my flow, and have all these papers lying around again.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590
