Another small Kondo win. A friend gave a me a coat a while back but it's now too big. I have now passed it back to her! (last time I cs'd something she passed me, she was a bit upset and said she'd have had it back!)
I have a large piece of furniture that will be leaving soon to return to said friend (it was on long term loan d/t relocation). I an currently Kondoing the items inside into new places. We won't be replacing the item. It's too big for the room.
Two sweet ornaments and a dress did appear in my life though. Joyful though! I don't often buy ornaments but OH and I have an ongoing thing about elephants. We kondoed 2 elephant soft toys that weren't very nice and were past their best, but two small stone elephant tea light holders have now appeared in my life to replace them.
PS: we also use a plastic bag on the door for a binLBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -

Still clearing out paperwork and lots more has gone through shredding, onto the fire and into paper recycling.
Nearly caught up with the reading pile - hopefully that will finally be gone in the next couple of months and will then be able to start reading proper books again.
Four tops into CS bag yesterday as realised am never going to wear them again.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
Thanks Islandmaid. It's about time I joined in with this method as my wardrobe is chocker. I love all my clothes but some more than others so time to read the book I think as not all spark joy when wearing. All that clutter used to be money0

I have been drowning in paperwork and tax papers today. I hate paperwork more than any other thing. All tax papers are now in a neat little bundle, old tax packs are just filed and two loads of shreds are out. I still have to do a few instructions etc but that means opening the boxes in my filing cabinet and that will open a new can of worms
The house looks good for photos next week but I cannot find anything0 -
I finally got around to putting stuff away in the 'holiday' drawers. Usually things get shoved in haphazardly so I dragged the contents out and put things back more tidily and logically. These drawers are in my OH's home office. He only tends to use this room when he's between work and it's a bit of a dumping ground. I dragged out a large bag I suspected contained clut, and sure enough it did. Took it downstairs for him to go through and most of it has now been sorted for recycling or shredding. Continuing on a theme I then discovered another pile of business magazines (which rain through our letterbox), from 2009-2010. They've gone. I've also identified that there's a stack of Car magazines of a similar age on the bottom shelf of his bookcase which are out of sight behind the side of his desk. OH has long since forgotten they were there......... they'll also be going with the recycling this week. He used to argue the toss that he may read them again, but given we had to clear a load from the 1970s-80s out of the cupboard at his mum's house a couple of years ago, this argument carries no weight. He just simply doesn't have the time even if he found the inclination which in 17 years I've never seen.
2 small suitcases are awaiting return to the loft, don't fancy going up there at the moment, we're away again in a few weeks, they may find a temporary home under a bed.Make £2025 in 2025

Just got back home, Have been up since about 4.30 am and we arrived at tbe bootsale at 07.00 am.
Have shifted serious quantities of Stuff, net of pitch fee it was £52.20. Not humungous compared with some people's takes but there were no electronics, expensive collectables etc. Major volume reduction achieved.
Some things did come back, some have been re-stashed in the parental shed prior to another sale in September. A bit cooler than today's 27 c would be appreciated.:rotfl:
I also bumped into some distant rellies (was in a part of the county where you could hurl a brick in any direction and hit someone who shared DNA with me) so had a good old chinwag.
I bought nothing other than some plants for Mum to have in the planter I dug out of Plot2 last month. They're having a little rest in a bucket of water in the shade and Dad will transplant them tomorrow.
All in all, a very pleasant 24 hrs away from my usual routine. Back to work (and evening allotmenteering) tomorrow.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

That's a brilliant result GQ - it's clutter out and money in, a great balance. Don't envy you doing it in that heat.
Do you ever wonder about the people buying your stuff - what they are going to do with it or whether they are MK fans and only buying stuff because it sparks joy? (Ok, maybe it's just me then .... I have sold some truly vile ornaments and things, and sometimes wonder where they end up!).Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -

Nothing there which was useless truck, just some things which I had no need of, surplus to domestic requirements. With so little living space, my bar for surplus is set very low indeedy.;)
Hopefully, the happy new owners are/ will soon be reading, knitting, watchng, gardening and hiking with things-formerly-owned-by -moi.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
