KonMari 2018 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

I really don't enjoy this weather, woke up with a migraine and have spent most of the day lying down (apart from the bit where I had to get dressed up, drive for 40 minutes, do some work, smile at people and then drive back again). I feel totally wiped out, however I had plants waiting to go in so about 7 pm I struggled outside and did some gardening.
Indoor stuff can wait for a rainy day. I'm still trying to do 30 minutes a day weeding and it is starting to turn the encroaching tide of brambles. Trouble is I now have to spend another 30 minutes or more watering! Even in the shade it was too hot for me today, I think I'm going to be gardening early and late, and spend the hottest part of the day doing as little as possible.
My latest theory on GQ's item ... I think it's a Belisha beacon. Mysteriously transported there from the zebra crossing where it lived, it's been flashing on and off in a lonely, half-hearted way in the middle of Plot 2, waiting to be reunited with its opposite number. :rotfl:Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -

Maybe it was waiting to be united with its long lost love - the phone box that left it in the lurch when it decided to become a tardis.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

A scary time for me this morning ahead. I was very emotional yesterday finding a very unexpected house on RM, in an area that I don`t really know but have been through several times, an area just right for me. A turn key house, just what I hoped for in size and os style and with two flat gardens. So perhaps all that kondo and pre-packing was meant to be, the universe may have spoken and sent me this house which I am very drawn to. Wish me luck on my new home journey today0

Kittie, sending good wishes for the house seeking.
PWD I am with you re it being too hot at times, the house is cool so I wander in and out, but don't sit out for more than a few minutes, in the shade. Even with lots of breaks it is really zapping my already low energy having to water mid evening. Lovely to see the sun, but for me a couple of degrees cooler and some rain at night only would be just the ticket :rotfl::rotfl:
It was Karmacat that started me off on the few minutes a day thing outside, it was at least 6 months before I could "join her", but baby steps is getting me there:D
Siebrie - the fruit harvest sounds good, I love gooseberries:D
MMF pleased that you are sorted with the chairs, not all of these things fall into place first time, but not horrifically expensive for you thank goodness. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Hello everyone.....
Loving reading how you are all doing. MMF007. What fantastic finds, bet. Your dining room looks fab.
Yes it's hot. Luckily my house is cool so I do the "in and out"thing too, but staying out of the fierce sun.
Well now I have started clearing, sorting and packing for my impending move, cellar and loft next. Too hot for the loft this week so I might make a start in the cellar today.....it will be cool down there. :rotfl:
Then when it's cooler this evening I will potter about in the garden. It's so light and the temperatures are lovely, I really enjoy summer evenings in the garden.0 -
Welcome back Karmacat! Sounds like a wonderful trip.Kittie, sending good wishes for the house seeking. It was Karmacat that started me off on the few minutes a day thing outside, it was at least 6 months before I could "join her", but baby steps is getting me there:D.
One of the best things about the holiday is that it showed me my CF is definitely over. Stamina will take forever to build up, I had to do less than my sister, but thats a different thing. I only did very little yesterday in the garden, but like everyone else, thats just because of the heat. I cut half the grass - I'll do the other half this morning. Right now, in fact, I'll break off my mse time so I can do the grass before it gets too hot.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
It is happening, I am potentially about to put in an offer, just getting some advice first. Not turnkey but very clean and very me. Will need gutting and re-installing but not too bad, just expensive. Almost there0
