Maybe. I dunno. I try a lot of accounts out and there are pros and cons of most of them. On this one, despite the track record, it's clearly risky and I hope I have made that clear to everyone. Still I have a soft spot for suggesting financial institutions that have compelling offers and are making a real effort to service customers needs. It's great to see the feedback that some people have taken the plunge and invested first time for themselves and their children. I hope they have a positive first experience.0 -
Thanks, have given this a goThinking critically since 1996....0

My order has now been processed, that’s £100 in the equities fund! Let’s see how far that £100 + bonus goes...
I wonder how many new accounts they’ll have with just £100 in them and how many will remain untouched for the 12 month required period. Still, I reckon it will probably give better returns than £100 of lottery tickets (I tried that once albeit over several draws, safe to say, I lost all my money!) - and before anyone jumps on that, no, I haven’t done any maths to back this up, it’s just tongue in cheek guesswork.0 -
Thanks for the tip, I’m signed up for a s&s ISA, just waiting for the bonus.0

You and anyone else who places an investment order before the cut off should have the bonus honoured. It's the date the order is placed that matters, not when the funds actually land with Orbis, I confirmed this with them via chat and it's in the Ts and Cs too, to be fair...

Don't use a long word when a diminutive one will suffice.0 -
So I've invested £100 into the ISA and received the match. Am I also able to invest £100 into the GIA to receive a match there? Anyone done this?
Worth throwing £200 at for a bit of fun, if so.0 -
Many thanks Alex. Me, my wife and our kids have each taken out a £100 GIA. After a year we will sell them, donate the £100 bonus to charity and go for a fancy dinner on 26/1/2019 with the original £100 (+/- gain/loss) to Tristan's in Horsham (other restaurants are available). Everyone wins! (Except maybe me, since I seem to be staking everyone's £100.)0

Have £100 invested on 15/01/2018 according to the Order History (Global Balanced Fund). How long before the bonus materialises?0

Thanks Alexland, I’m not the most financially savvy of people, but I’m giving the isa a go....here’s hoping, fingers crossed.
I don’t see me as a player of the markets lol....but the last isa we had (quite a few years ago) lost money....No two ways about this one: Anything Free is not a Basic Right..it had to be earned...by someone, somewhere0
