Well I made some cherry scones and whipped half the cream into a jug which will go with me tomorrow to DDs for my DGS to scoff.I looked online and apparently it is possible to whip, pipe and freeze to go onto of hot chocolate in blobs .I have done about half a dozen, and they are in the freezer now ,the rest I used some in a small victoria sponge and the rest in some really nice coffee this afternoon :):) one empty pot to go into the recycling bag and nothing wasted :):):)

I cannot see why it wouldn't. I regularly freeze slices of cake.
  • Hi fellow LFHWrs,

Friday will be the last of the mackerel fillets from the freezer & lots of roasted vegetables probably no carbs.

Not much left in the freezer - box of fishfingers, 500g diced beef (maybe a pie with hm pastry?) mini scallops, some sausages (maybe my first toad in the hole?)

Need to start using some of the tins even though nothing is ood :)

Sorry to have bored you all :(

    Hi fellow LFHWrs,

Haven’t posted for a week - shame on me :o

The mackerel fillets are still in the freezer :( We had fishfingers sandwiches for Monday’s dinner.

The diced beef is defrosting & will be curried together with some parboiled potatoes from the freezer & some cauliflower & broccoli also from the freezer + naan bread from freezer & finishing the curry paste from the fridge & the two wrinkly portobello mushrooms - :money:

Still debating the Toad in the Hole option for the sausages :undecided.

Have also discovered several slices of bread, a small portion of hm lasagne meat, a portion of lo Chinese takeaway & half a box of summer fruits in the freezer - I know I must have put all this food in the freezer but ....:o

I have cooked some Bramley apples & mixed with the summer fruits & will make a crumble topping tomorrow.

My DH keeps asking if I want him to go shopping :rotfl: but I am resisting sending him - he has too much decorating to do :rotfl:

I really am determined to empty both freezers & start reducing the larder contents so I can see a bit of invention in my future + lots of baking!:)

I keep trying to empty the freezer but then I see a YS bargain ... If only there were an old fashioned greengrocer near me, then I could eschew
Supermarkets and not fall into temptation.

Hi! I'm enjoying reading all your posts! I had half a tub of cream cheese from earlier in the week and turned it into raspberry swirl cheesecakes over the weekend. This has resulted in half a tin of condensed milk which I'm going to make into ginger cake tonight. I also zapped old bread into breadcrumbs which are now in the freezer. I made some scones last week, baking half and putting the other half in the freezer (as dough all cut and ready to bake if you see what I mean) and will try baking them today. Works for rock cake mixture so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Well done everyone for all your fabulous efforts to streetch things out and use them up rather than binning them.I have pub quiz tonight so no need to cook as I get fed there .
But lunchtime was some diced up slightly wrinkly apples with some yogurt and an orange

I have to do my second shop of the month tomorrow as I have a few bits to ge before the holiday weekend, I hate all the crowded shops at Bank Holiday time. I want to get a small piece of gammon to try in my new PKP cooker as I haven't had a decent 'play' yet as family stuff got in the way this week. I will cook it ,let it cool then slice and freeze portions of it I think Aldi's have some smaller but for around £2.50 which will more than do me as once sliced and frozen in individual packs they are great for a salad or ham and eggs ir even diced up for pasta.I should get 4-5 portions out of a piece at least .

Have a good week frugally chums, noodle(( that ginger cake sounds good any chance of a recipe I can't wait for lent to end so I can return to me addiction of ginger, both cakes, biscuits and even ale :):):)
