PN, hope the viewing is OK. They always say view in the wet, sunny days make everything cheerful

    They do :)
But it's sunny now and I can't change the weather :)
  • How much milk do you get through on your own? I find I am drinking more these days, cba making the likes of nut milk, might as well just eat a few nuts raw. Farway, do you make your porridge with milk? Its the breakfasts that use most milk, that fuel breakfast soaks it up like no tomorrow
I`ve done all my mal planning for today, got a small venison ready meal out to de-frost and have good salad to use up. I don`t eat salad last thing. Last meal will be frozen fish, if I can un-earth it, frozen LO cooked oat grains, they are like barley, nice. Plus some fresh veg and all in that pod for 6 minutes in the microwave
Right now I am prepping a couple of crumbles, both wide soup bowl sized. One for the next few days and one to freeze. Apple with frozen blackcurrants and some frozen crumble on top. Will cook then freeze

No biscuits or cakes in the house, nothing to keep my sweet tooth happy. Got to be busy instead
  • I didn't have the fajitas as I fancied a jacket spud with baked beans and a side salad so I had that instead.

    Good morning everyone,
I remember the days when I just bounced back after a night on the tiles, these days a third glass of wine is enough to fell me the next day.....
PN - hope the viewing goes well. The house does sound small but if the space is used well shouldn't be cramped. My younger son rents a tiny house it has a small kitchen/living room that has obviously been fitted out on the cheap and it feels really cramped. His neighbours in the exact same house have really used the space and not only have a lot more kitchen storage and work space but also two couches in the living room and apparently it doesn't look crowded. My son has little kitchen storage and just one sofa as lots of space has been wasted and the way the kitchen has been fitted crowds out everything else!
unrecordings - I'm sure the cat was just trying to help :rotfl::rotfl:

pattypan - I buy 4 pints of milk every time I get a grocery delivery (usually 8-9 days), I find it keeps ok. I only really use it in tea/coffee and cooking. Sometimes I need to top up and sometimes I'll end up making a white sauce or similiar to use surplus up but usually the equivalent of 1/2 pint a day works well for me.

I didn't have the best night so when I woke just before 7am to the sound of the rain lashing off of my window I decided to snuggle back down for a snooze, I must have went out like a light and didn't resurface until well after 9am . It's dried up now but I'm still a tad ropey on my feet so no gardening for me today.
I thoroughly enjoyed the sausage, black pudding & parsnip bake and there's lots left, I'll freeze a couple of portions and there will also be enough for my lunch. :) I've a huge bowful of roasted tomatoes needing pureed and sieved, that'll keep me out of mischief for a bit this afternoon. Easy chicken, cauliflower, courgette and sweet potato tray bake for dinner. There'll no doubt be veg leftover that I'll turn into a quick soup tomorrow. Definitely a week of evolving LOs this week

Varies just over 4 pints, the 2 litre, about a quid size. I normally buy twice a week. ,Which leaves some as rollover for following week
Use it in porridge & drinks only

I use roughly 50/50 milk / water. I use full fat milk to soak overnight.

Add oats to bowl , glug enough FF milk in until oats just float, then add tap water until they drown
Leave overnight & nuke when awake

I then stir some HM yoghurt in, which uses 1 litre of full fat UHT a week

Lunch was corned beef & chutney sarnie
Dinner will be the LO ham, pea & mash fried up bubble & squeak style, and having seen someone mention piccalilli reminded to locate my jar to accompany the fry up

anyway, enough of the malaises, I've a CFO chilli to plan for later

Which by majority vote has turned into fish & chips:j

I'll be cooking up the mince I'd defrosted afterwards - probably just making a nice bollo that I can turn into a couple of meals (lasagna & chilli, or maybe a moussaka etc)

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?

Pattypan I use more milk this time of the year as I start eating porridge rather than fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, however like Farway I use half and half milk to water and soak overnight unless I buy skimmed milk and then I use less water. I tend to buy two 2 litre containers a week and occasionally have to think about using it up.

Unrecordings I've had helpful cats like that too, I did learn not to buy a carpet the same colour as your cat, my last cat and carpet were both dark cream and she would lie along the stair and blend  Enjoy your fish and chips :)

You need piccalilli with bubble and squeak and cold meat Farway :D

My [STRIKE]throwing toys out of my pram[/STRIKE] complaining worked re time off over Christmas and I have been offered the 23rd and 24th December I nearly said no over the 24th as it's usually just working from home in the morning keeping an eye on emails but as i was proving a point decided it was worth taking a day holiday :)

I didn't fancy soup for lunch so had a gammon and blue cheese salad with figs followed by the last of the cooked fruit, unfortunately the spinach was a little pass it's best but it filled a gap and I couldn't get out to get anything else lunchtime due to a forgotten meeting

Not sure about dinner it will be the last of the gammon probably just not sure what with maybe singapore noodles

I am very impressed farway about you still making your own yoghurt, it wasn`t just a flash in the pan like it was for me. I got through 2 x litres of semi milk this week and had to buy another pint today. I think I will go full fat next time, I believe it will make my porridge and coffee nicer, I`ll just get a pint of semi for my tea. I am using my nuker on a regular basis these days, never even used to own one but its not half handy. I like nuked porridge and eating out of the bowl. I like nuked salmon and veg done in the pod thing

I like milk, I used to like drinking milk years ago. These days that milk no longer exists and it's all watery unless you buy it from the farm where they have those new fangled "raw milk" machines etc....

I don't bother with milk at all in the main.

I buy milk specifically when I have chosen to make something that needs milk, e.g. toad/hole, or a quiche. I probably buy 3 pints a year. I keep angel delight in the cupboard so I can always use it up once opened.... just to get through it.

She's a black cat - they all think they can become completely invisible at will. She's currently stretched right across the top of the stairs in a way that suggests I don't really want to go downstairs and watch the news. Sensible probably...

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?
