Thinks - now if McCulloch could just pass that "lack of appetite" in my direction....sighs...
Having got up at around 5.30am this morning and by 6 a.m. my stomach was going "Food NOW" at me - even though I usually end up having breakfast somewhere between 7-8 a.m.
Now if I could just switch off that appetite until I've lost that couple of stones it would help...with a "on/off" switch to it if I spotted something new/different/etc to eat (eg I've just arranged to have a posh type vegan meal out with a group next week - so I'd want it on for that).
I'd just regard it as a blessing McCulloch - unless you're happy with your figure as it is (ie if you would be underweight if you don't eat much for a while). In which case - time for a few treats to tempt appetite back again...
Admits to only recalling a loss of appetite once - many years back as a child and I lost my appetite for a few days. This was so unusual for me that my parents forked out for a rare meal out for us all - to tempt it back again:rotfl:. It worked.
Certainly if I had typical British diet and typical British lack of exercise at the same time - then I'd be size of a house with an appetite like mine....0 -
Good morning everyone,
Hope your appetite perks up mcculloch.
There's some scrummy sounding food being made/eaten in CFO land:).
This morning I'll finish making the chicken & sweetcorn soup so it's ready for lunch time, so lunch will be some of that and a chicken salad sarnie. I went for a chowder style soup in the end up. I've a cooked duck leg defrosting to have tonight with stir veg & noodles so no advance prep needed for that.
I'm not sure what my my plans are for today it's dull & damp outside but if the rain stays off I'll hopefully get out for a stroll. I also need to phone Boots to find out why my repeat meds were incomplete as they didn't say anything to my sister yesterday when she collected them for me:mad:0 -
I had my overnight oats for breakfast just now with a cup of black coffee. I had used all the almond milk for the oats!
I have HM soup for lunch and I will have it with a "vegan tuna" sandwich.
Not sure about dinner yet.
The vegan tuna is made with mashed chickpeas, sweetcorn, vegan mayo, lemon juice, garlic powder and finely chopped celery/red onion/spring onions/cucumber pickles if anyone is interested.
It's been about 25 years since I've tasted tuna so I can't really say if it tastes like it, but it is nice on some toasted bread.:p0 -
Morning Everyone
Caron, you are so organised- puts me to shame lol. Hope your meds are sorted and the problem doesn't happen again.
Mcculloch - best wishes from me and I hope your appetite picks up soon.
After days of glorious sun, we have rain. Typical as I've just had a skip delivered and was hoping that the fine weather would stay for a while longer - no such luck lol. I'm up in the loft today and having a good old clear out. What I will find - who knows. When we arrived here I found a case full of school reports - better than mine ever were lol. They were returned to their owner
Breakfast was as usual - porridge and then a hot grapefruit. Lunch will be baked beans on toast and later Tim is going to conjure up a Thai Curry. I think I should enter him for 'Master Chef' - he's an absolute whizz in the kitchen - just loves to cook. Wish some of his enthusiasm would rub off on me.
I suspect it is more greedy than organised :rotfl::rotfl:I do like to know I'll be well fed.....:)
Unfortunately flare ups are just an ongoing part of this condition but fingers crossed all remains calmer for a bit:).
Enjoy being catered for, you never know once your friend has gone he might have left you some of his mojo:D0 -

I'm never quite sure why these recipes end up with a fake meat/fish name. But as long it tastes good that's the main thing:D0 -
Morning all, like many, dank & wet here today so staying in today
Pot of tea for breakfast. Followed by HM yoghurt & honey
I have decide today is a use up day, my pot of HM cauli soup will be heated up for lunch, I may follow MTSM lead and try some grated cheese sprinkled on top. A new one on me, but it does sound tasty, plus cauli & cheese is a good match, like peaches & cream, or steak & pie crust
I will have same soup combo for dinner, which should just leave one portion for another day
I will plug any hunger holes with bread puddingEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Grey and rainy here in the great metrolops. CBA to go out.
Mushroom and chicken liver risotto for lunch, with maybe a glass (or two) of vino, then I think I'll heat up some HM tomato and basil soup for tea.
Farway, Haven't had bread pudding for ages. Almost forgotten how good it is. Enjoy!0 -
Mm mm Farway cauli soup lovely with cheese blue if you have it!
Dgson is here more or less for the week as he's on half term hol.
Yesterday we had roast beef that I'd frozen with gravy from a previous meal, in fact there's enough for dgson same again tonight, we had with pots, cauli, carrot and sprouts, I made enough for today as well. There was a sausage each left from breakfast and Yorkshire on too, delicious.
We had gfree cheesecake with kiwi chopped on top and cream.
Today when he has the rest of beef I will have salmon with black pepper fillet, and share the veg.
Enough cheesecake left for dessert.
I've lifted the hm leek and potato soup out of freezer for me to take to work tomorrow.
I think I've watched every episode of sponge bob:o let's hope the weather improves then we can get out!!Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
On the scene for tonight - stuffed portobellos with mushroom gravy (from current cookbook). Another new recipe I'm planning on trying out.
As to what to have with it - hmmm... - maybe some sweet potato chunks and some peas perhaps?
At least the weather is improving a bit - just as well....as went out for a shopping trip and any shopping trip round here has every likelihood of taking a lot longer than "going from A to B" by the time one has had a long chat with a complete stranger and then another long chat with a complete stranger etc (one of the "plus side" things of living here:rotfl:).
Roll on good enough weather for "Explore countryside" trips.0 -

Ta, no blue cheese in the house, I love it but it soon vanishes. I did spot a recipe using BC, and if I had some I would use it, and now I fancy blue cheese
It was nice with grated mature cheddar sprinkled on, I will do same for dinner
Added puffed wheat & blue cheese to the L shopping mooch tomorrow, just to check prices / value IYSWIM
Just one lump of bread pud scoffed so far today. Another may be sacrificed later
Plus two crackers & butterEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
