I also threw out the bottom 1/2" of brown sauce when I did a tip run yesterday
I'm surprised you do not have any 'quick nibbles' to be going at.I've had a cheeky bag of those baked C+Onion crisps earlier although they are hard by design, these ones seemed especially tough for some reason. Biscuit tin is unfortunately empty for the moment.
Just put some potato's in the pot, bit early but I'm short of cereal so I want something warm to eat, and I appear to have an excess of them.
WM man moved his app (have two, trying to get one out the door even for a couple of £ it will do to get it out of my hair!) to later in the week which is a tad annoying as I'd planned on being here for them.0 -
Today is back to normal sunshine but I had a bit of a lie in, woke about 3.30 for some reason and never really went back to sleep. Listening to radio half the night, could be worse, I could have been on way to my TC holiday
I feel sorry for the staff, there's never a good time to lose your job but I always think getting near C'mas is worse somehow
Last night's buffalo stew was lush, my first "proper" buffalo meal. Seems much richer & meaty taste than cow. May of course be down to the rearing as well. The dumplings turned out nice and fluffy also
Two huge greedy portions of stew left:)
Porridge + chopped apple breakfast
Lunch, another PB baguette with cheese & salady filling
Dinner, could be nuked LO stew. I am toying with idea of making a small lump of soda bread to dunk in, could even involve some of my HM runny yoghurtAbsolutely and don't even start me on deconstructed crumble:mad::mad:. That's not crumble that's stewed fruit with a bit of granola on the side, perfectly nice but not bleeding crumble....:p:p
"His Lordship" sounds like as though he has "the wee man big chip on his shoulder" syndrome the bigger they are the more of a challenge..... There's aways a specimen to be found in pubs round here later on a weekend night!;)
It make me wonder where these food fads start, does a posh chef think I CBA so [STRIKE]chucks [/STRIKE] arranges it on plate, thinks up naff name & charges double to punters who are too embarrassed to point out the King has no clothes?
Wee man big chip, came across a few, one rule of thumb was never go ashore with one, bound to finish in an argument. I wonder just what it is that makes them like that?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

I think the "wee man" syndrome is genetic here, my ex is 6ft 5 and when we used to go out and about you could almost guarantee that later in the evening he'd always get at least one "how's it going big man?" which never boded well.;) My ex is fairly placid thankfully so didn't take the bait!
I think you've hit the nail on the head re de-constructed, easier to prep and cook and arrange artfully on a plate while selling as something lots of folk recognise and love.
I discovered last night that one of the meds on my repeat was short, the pack should have had 168 tablets in it but only 148 were in it. A quick trip to Boots got it sorted, they were very apologetic, but I'm glad I noticed when I did or it would have been harder to sort out. While I was out I popped into Farmfoods for butter, I noticed on Saturday that they had butter for 99p but were sold out. Four packs have been purchased they have long use by but I'll freeze a couple. A 5kg bag of very nice looking onions for £2 were also purchased, they just fit in my rollator bag. I use quite a lot of onions and they'll keep well though I will propably end up freezing some. I went to the hardware shop and managed to get a medium mesh sieve, after just about killing my hands making passatta yesterday I knew I really needed to replace the one I broke. It's just too much like hard work rubbing them through a fine sieve and my hands are aching today. While I was there I treated myself to a new potato ricer as mine has warped and I do like my spuds riced for mash. I'd been meaning to get one for a while and they had the type I was looking for. A bit of spendy morning though really only the onions were unplanned.:D
Crackers, cheese and salad for lunch again today and veggie pasta for dinner tonight. The kidney dish was lovely but rich so there are two portions for the freezer to have another time.0 -
Rain arrived, not that it makes any difference except to make my nuked LO stew even tastier & more weather appropriate tonight
Decide against making soda bread to go with stew because I'm still feeling full from baguette lunch, plus there's a small LO dumpling in the stew, plus CBAEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I went to get my flu jab and to a GP appointment today.
I looked around the charity shops and found my husband a jacket but nothing for me.
I had toast this morning and then carrot and lentil soup and bread when I got in.:)
I bought some of the smoked Tofoo tofu to try later.0 -
Good news on the 'jab then.
Must visit Sain's or something for mine but it will have to wait a week or two.
Lunch I'm afraid was early and consisted of yet more boiled and bashed about new potato's (they did need eating though!) with a large tablespoon of that 'not very nice' sweetcorn thrown in. I'll slowly get though it.
Just spent a good hour doing another app this time for A1d, wish me luck on that one! Not heard back from HB actually but its early days!
Not sure what to have later actually, something at the back of my mind tells me it going to be meatballs+peas or perhaps some soup of some description.0 -
I didn't get round to eating, to speak of.
More doritos and the rest of the chocs.
Just sliced one bread roll in half and made a 2-egg omelette to put in it. No marg and no brown sauce but it's moist/tasty enough, just.
One roll left, 2 eggs left... so I guess I'll have that tomorrow too.
Out of eggs then, but won't be buying any more now, too close to moving.0 -
Me either but its not really 'time' for it yet, too many other things to do first. I've only got the vague idea I put above for what to have, but I've just eaten a bag of plain salted crisps for the moment. Keep eyeing up the unopened pack of choc digestives too, only a cheapy brand though but they are edible enough for the price.
I'm surprised you don't have a box/bag of 'instant goodies in tins' somehow, perhaps you do.
, I realise its more clutter though.
Note to self: When obtaining cereal look for something different that would work in 'choc cereal cakes', those cluster things if I can get them at a sane price locally might work but I'll hold off this topic as there's a thread on it already!0 -
Good evening everyone,
Hope the jab went ok Wednesday, you've reminded me I must book mine. Hopefully I won't have the same issues with the receptionist that I had last year who said I wasn't eligible. The nurse had other ideas and I was duly jabbed at my BP appointment! I'm happy to pay for it but there's nowhere locally I can get one, the nearest is about 8 miles away which is problematic for me. I'm jealous of you & Brambling being able to get smoked tofu - no such exoctica seems to exist in this area.:(
Has to be Kripsies or cornflakes for me for chocolate Andy, nothing else gives the proper crunch IMHO:).
Ended up having a very quiet afternoon as the "wonky donkey" decided it was being ignored and kicked off. Tbh I think I overdid it out and about this morning so hopefully just a fleeting visit, needless to say I'm not contemplating managing a hot pasta pot and I'm going for HM spiced courgettes from the freezer with a micro poached egg and pitta bread.
I'm expecting a noisy day tomorrow as my neighbours are having a woodburner installed, I don't mind they had to put up the racket when I got mine put in. They had been away for the weekend and their cat appeared this afternoon, obviously just doing his rounds after his stay at the cattery. Once he knew I hadn't had the audacity to change anything in his absence he was off to inspect the rest of his haunts.:rotfl:0
