All gone now
Could do with a tiny shop top up of a couple of things but its hammering it down so I may just make use of what is here. Only silly random bits needed really anyway, probably I'm being picky.0 -
Popped out to 4ldi, pack of 4 bread rolls, big pack of cheese tortillas (crisps) and a tub of tuna sweetcorn sandwich filler. Then into £land for a bag of choccies.
I've made up two bread rolls with the tuna filling - was generous with filling and ate the remainder from the pot with a spoon. Serving with a handful of the tortillas.0 -
Got a Lidl Chicken and wild mushroom and tarragon pie out so will have to put oven on, have already micro'd a jkt so that will go in to crisp up and will have some courgette too. Will have 2 sausages tomorrow now.0

I settled for about half a dozen reasonable sized new potato's knocked about a bit for the moment. Not quite with it today and not really that hungry. Twas enough for now. Probably see about something in a few hours time. I took a pic for some reason of the bowl of knocked pots! Had phone in hand at the time.0

Good evening everyone,I've taken some chicken thighs out of the freezer as well as some white pudding and vegetarian haggis so out of that will be a couple dinners and lunches just not sure what yet but it will probably involve rice and vegetables for the white pudding and haggis
What did you end up making?
Unless they've changed Andy I can confirm Tesco custard doughnuts are good - I used to sometimes get them for the kids as a treat and if I was lucky/quick I got one!:)
I've had reasonably productive day and a good natter with my sis - world has been sorted out once again.:rotfl:It dried up for a bit and while I was nipping to the bin five massive swans flew over heading South West in a perfect "V", the sky was like lead and the majestic birds against that back drop as they flew into the distant was breathtaking.:D Unlike geese they were silent apart from their wings beating and even though they were high up you could still hear the synchronised beats. It made my afternoon:D:D.
My two batches of roasted toms yielded just under 2l of HM passatta so another five tubs are just about to get squidged into the freezer. :eek:Just as well a lot of the brambles will be coming out in the next few days as I want to get the gin started. A batch of mash is made so some of that will need frozen too and I'm expecting a portion of the cooked kidneys will need frozen as well. (Unless I'm very greedy or have them for lunch tomorrow;)). Dinner is all prepped I just need to cook it now and that won't take very long at all. I think after a decent-sized steak last night and offal/bacon tonight, dinner tomorrow will definitely be "meat-free" Monday.:)0 -
Evening
I'm a West Country girl Caroncthe SM were almost giving away the veggie haggis after Burns night
. I think I have 'proper' haggis brought the same time so next time I'll try your recipe
. Always like something new to make. There are kidneys in the freezer so I'm thinking kidneys they may end in a mustard sauce
Spent a couple of hours cooking this afternoon which will see me through the next couple of days. I diced an assortment of vegetables lurking in the fridge (shallots, celery, pepper, sugar snap peas, courgette, mushrooms cavolo nero and carrot) saute until soft then added to cooked brown rice and the chopped white pudding and vegetarian haggis. Some of the veg was also added to a fresh tomato and courgette sauce (no aubergine so not ratatouille) it seems my little chillis are very hot  I should have checked their label as I forgot what variety I brought  definitely cleared my sinuses. Chicken thigh fillets were coated in Cajun breadcrumbs and air fried. All the runner and French beans were cooked so just need pinging over the next couple of days
Dinner was a mix of a couple of small thighs, green beans, tomato and courgette sauce and a tbsp of rice to sample
Next door has a cob nut tree in his back and front garden and I watched whilst cooking a squirrel spending the afternoon burying nuts in my lawn, I already spend the year pulling up trees from both my gardens  he was so busy, next door will be complaining the squirrels are winning and getting more than him again :rotfl:
The other side have moved in and are living around the last of the work which will hopefully mean the noisy work is finished, one of the daughters held up a small kitten in the window to show me. I've told his lordship no bullying when it's big enough to come out I was told he was rehomed as he doesn't play well with others

Sounds like a very productive couple of hours Brambling, my lamb kidneys had a mustardy sauce here too.:) I like how you haven't called your tom/veg sauce "ratatouille" - I've seen some strange combinations labelled as such over the years and it is a bit of a classic. I always shudder when I see a recipe introduced as a "twist on...." -it seldom is just something that might vaguely resemble it.:rotfl: A friend for "His Lordship" perhaps if he trains it properly:rotfl:. Last weekend I took a couple of ripe habeneros from my plant with us as part of the "supplies" and my they kicked a punch. We expected them to be quite hot but these were "super heated". There's a couple more almost ripe and I'll be using them with caution. I like a bit of chilli heat but not when it numbs your tongue for hours.......0

Nope ratatouille has to have aubergine in
I also don't understand where the trend to deconstruct food comes from, after a successful project a few years ago we were treated to a 'posh' meal out my colleague had deconstructed cheesecake for dessert which basically meant a line of crumb, a quenelle of the topping and a smear of coulis placed separately around the plate  I was glad to have chosen the sticky toffee pudding which was a lovely big lump nothing fancy done to it and was appreciated as there wasn't a lot of food in the previous two courses  it drew envious looks :rotfl:
His lordship has tried to take on a neighbours' husky and the rather large ridgeback being walked pass the end of the path one day  both minding their own business, well behaved and ignoring him. :cool:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

"His Lordship" sounds like as though he has "the wee man big chip on his shoulder" syndrome the bigger they are the more of a challenge..... There's aways a specimen to be found in pubs round here later on a weekend night!;)0 -
I'm starving. I've got bread rolls and eggs, but can't make scrambled eggs on toasted rolls because I'm awaiting a phone call... and if the call comes it's a charity collection van to say they're about to arrive...
I also threw out the bottom 1/2" of brown sauce when I did a tip run yesterday0
