The tortillas didnt work out - as in remnants were thrown in the bin. I shall get a suitable healthy and oil-free recipe worked out for some sort of flatbread yet:cool:.Now there's another taste to try out. I have celery in, and pickled gherkins, as yet unopened, now I will give that "recipe" a go
You'll not regret it:)
flubberyzing - lovely that you were able to have an early walk in the sunshine. It's sort of cleared up here now but getting blinking cold again so my walk & windows can wait!
The weak sunshine showed up how manky my cooker doors were:o, not any longer I've been busy with the "Elbow Grease"0 -
It weren't me yer honour....honest...'twasn't me experimenting with my pressure cooker.
Most of the country won't know what I'm on about - but those in the west of the country might well. The Welsh Facebook pages are now full of chat of everyone asking everyone else if they felt the earthquake. It was near Swansea and map shows it was felt as far to the east as London and I expect Pastures felt it (as it went down pretty much to the toe of Cornwall).0 -

That sounds lovely, I'm not a fan of potatoes but I'm sure it will taste just as good on other oven baked vegI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Not got a lot of option but to keep trying - as there simply aren't any healthy readymade flatbreads in any supermarket or health food shop anywhere in this country (cue for me even checking Waitrose website - thinking "Surely they will have" - but...no...not yet). Not that I've got a Waitrose anywhere near me - and can't say I see one turning up here any time soon - wah!!!
or I've just found this recipe using just rolled oats and non-dairy milkthis makes a batter type mix which you fry to make a flatbread

Type of diet - pretty much (80%/90%) wholefood plant-based at the moment.
So, in effect, vegan with no oil.
I'm still going sorta half-and-half on milk (some dairy/some plant mylk) and having dairy spreadable stuff on bread (as I can't find any other I like basically). The occasional glass of wine is also "not even vegetarian" - as I can't find any here yet that matches even one of my two criteria (organic and vegan).
Eating out - one still has to revert pretty much to vegetarian at the moment still in most of the country (ie here for instance). Sighs visibly at the thought of Totnes or Brighton eating-out opportunities for instance:(. Am guessing Glastonbury caters more as well?
In my case - it's more of a thing to lose weight and then I might revert to "usually wholefood vegetarian". Think the weight is starting to come off gradually....0 -

Checked with my son - they were out for coffee and thought it was a vibration from roadworks:rotfl::rotfl:0 -

I decided to eat cleaner about 5 months ago, basically from a health point of view, I gave up smoking and joined a gym, so decided to sort my very unhealthy diet out too
I'm basically trying to eat healthy, organic plant based foods most of the time, as well as cut out as much processing as possible, so I'm not eating bread, pasta, rice etc as well as cutting out meat and trying to cut down on dairy
I should eat 2000 cals a day to maintain weight, and more on the 5 days a week I go to the gym, I also try to stick to a diet of 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat
I have the R1verford fruit and veg box delivered every week and plan my meals around that. I would like to be completely vegetarian, but I do struggle from a calorie and protein point of view. So I am still eating sustainable fish or organic chicken a couple of days a week. It's the protein that's the real struggle
it's not exact and I'm not pretending to be perfect but it's a whole lot better than the EFO diet I used to eat, which was, no breakfast, no lunch and an unhealthy dinner, I maintained my weight because even though dinner was usually carp food I wasn't eating a massive calorie intake. Swapping to the new cleaner diet I'm eating 3 meals a day and feeling wonderful
following this thread is great, I list/eat 3 meals a day and get lots of great ideas :TI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. My meals haven't been the slightest bit interesting the past few days. Am doing a short, sharp shock diet thing with those meal shakes. Today however I met DD and DS for lunch and a chicken sandwich was had.
hope PN is ok as haven't seen her around for a day or so?Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
Good evening everyone,
spirit - I'm not dedicated enough to exist on shakes, I tried them years ago and couldn't get on with them. I like a decent plateful too much;)
You're right I've not "seen" PN since yesterday which is unusual, I hope all is okay.
I'm not sure where today has gone, I got engrossed in some admin and suddenly realised it was Saturday "wine time", it would never do to miss that :rotfl::rotfl:
Must get my self organised and go and whack my steak:)0 -
