I've not had watermelon for years, not only too large but the seeds are a real PIA, unlike honeydews where the seeds are sensibly placed to scoop out
probably came from same Devil's seed packet as pomegranates

Lunch was easy, but the toms from L's were gross, watery & some squished, luckily I've some from the greengrocer, I'll grill the remainder of the L ones. Annoying because I always check them before buying, maybe it's this hot weather ripening them super quickly?

Good news for me, I bought a new camera the other week, and my old film lenses fit using an adapter so I've been trying them out.

All fine if a bit fiddly, sometimes with sign of the times, control the camera shutter using a mobile these days, assuming one can find the correct choice to use from the gazillions available

Glad it's salad tonight, very close & humid now

    Marvel Dried Milk

According to MySupermarket.co.uk Marvel is available from Tesco, Sainsbury's and Iceland. Iceland is cheapest but you can bet that, now I've posted this info, they won't have any in stock if you go there.

Farway i do buy more expensive tomatoes usually baby plum or cherry but that's because I put them on the window sill and pick at them when I walk past :D. If I'm cooking I tend to buy cheaper ones

It's been warm in the SE as well but the cool breeze left a couple of hours ago and it's been muggy ever since  i woke late with the same headache I've had since Thursday, at least this morning it had stopped hurting in my neck and at the back of my head :o. Unfortunately the building work has been going on all day and with their windows and doors all open I couldn't hide in the garden, I gave up 1pm ish and escaped to the peace and quiet of my sisters' house. We walked into town about 3.30pm which did me good but turned out expensive as I brought some shoes and underwear all half price :D and not planned  unfortunately I'm home and the builders are still working  I think it's the owner working today

I wasn't that hungry lunchtime so a early lunch was a couple slices of toast and marmalade (I wouldn't complain about the bread later) but I needed to feed my headache and that's what it wanted

Dinner turned out really tasty :D. Crispy smoked tofu with coconut and peanut sauce, a mix of rice and quinoa and stir fried veg

I remember a blue and white tin of emergency dried milk my parents kept in, would that have been marvel ?

So far I've already managed to wolf down:

    2 tomato/egg filled bread rolls
    1 cucumber/egg filled bread rolls
    2 mini cheesecakes.
Half a punnet of red seedless grapes

    :)

It was hot earlier, then turned a bit muggy. There's also been a bit of a breeze too, which is omnipresent at my house though, which I hate. I've never liked the wind. You can't sit in the wind as it's blowing you!

I had a small dinner so I woke up starving this morning.

I just made mashed potatoes with baked beans and heated up some leftover steamed veggies to have as well.

I only ate a pomegranate for the first time a few years ago. I didn't understand how you were supposed to eat it!:rotfl:

Rained overnight and still got PN's drizzle at the moment
That's knocked my planned pruning on the bonce, fighting wet leaves is not my ideal Sunday

After porridge breakfast phoned bank, twice, passwords reset, all working. But when I tried later it failed. I give up for now CBA to go round that circle again today:mad:

New loaf out of the Panny, this one is more brick like, still OK but I've had better. Maybe it's down to air pressure? Just a guess

I'll use the loaf for my ham sarnie lunch, maybe just mustard on it?

Breakfast today will probably be hash browns, eggs, beans.

Thanks PN, I was going to have ham eggs & chips later, but you've reminded me I've hash browns lurking in freezer that need clearing out , I'm fed up seeing them eyeing me up every time I get some peas out

Nor I, if you look at TV chefs they whack it & innards come out, but still leaves a pip in every bite AFAIK. I'll pass when there is so much other fruit around that requires very little effort to scoff

I timed my pie and mash right :)

It's turned a bit nippy! The sun came out earlier and I thought "Oh no, hot pie in a heatwave", but then it changed cooler again :)

If it's cold again tomorrow, I'll defrost another slice of pie as I need to eat it + I've got another portion of mash sitting in the fridge now and there's still about 1.5Kg of spuds to cook up for more :)

    Evening all

Annoying I stripped my bed when I got up this morning and didn't realise it was raining :(. I held off hanging it up indoors until I needed to go out at 12 but it was still drizzling. It stopped whilst I was out but it was too late. I should have done it yesterday but wasn't feeling great so just did clothes and towels.

I went out for lunch with my sister nowhere grand, we drove out to a cafe which does fantastic cheese on toast using a local cheese. We shared a portion (a slice each) and had a piece of cake for pud, I had a very nice slice of lemon cake :).

We came home via the garden centre which is bigger and has better choices than the one five minutes away, my sister has discovered the garden and flowers, she was if you can't eat it what's the point and most of her 140ft garden is lawn. I did say who are you and what have you done to my sister :rotfl: I'm probably not the best person to ask because I plant what I like and don't check what's best for my soil or with each other :o. She wants a bee garden so just a couple of plants today and a quick basic lesson on annuals and perennials and something for winter colour. She's going to drag my nephew there to get his opinion :) they have started to make changes and I will let her have some plants and cuttings from my garden

Dinner was a very tasty chicken laksa with pak choi, baby sweetcorn and soba noddles, using more of the coconut milk I opened yesterday. LOs for lunch tomorrow :D I have a rhubarb and strawberry slice in the oven with a crumble topping, the rhubarb was gifted :rotfl: I think I put it in the wrong baking tray I should have used something shallower and wider, I realised at the point of no going back

Edit - yep too much crumble to fruit and isn't going to slice well
