It's super hot weather - yesterday I had baked potato and beans and cheese ... because I'd bought the spuds so they need to be eaten.
Ditto today, scorcher of a day and I've got jacket spuds and beans to chomp through.
Can't make potato salad because .... I'd then need to go out and buy more/other food to eat with thatI've no salady stuff in. Well, I have, but to eat spud salad I could use up the final 1/5th of the cucumber, do a boiled egg, add some grated cheese... but then I'm stuck unless I open a tin of corned beef ... and that then means there's an open tin of corned beef that needs using up... so that then means corned beef hash and beans and we're back to winter food.
Coordinating food that needs using up + the weather's really troublesome in England.0 -

I had some gluten free cornflakes for breakfast. I ordered bran flakes but they substituted them instead.
They tasted like "normal" cornflakes to me.:)Wednesday
. Please try and stay away from the sin bin :rotfl:
Lol Wednesday nearly on the naughty step hope you've finished your lines.:rotfl::rotfl:I've had a few words in posts turned to !!!! by the board all of which were being used in their correct context. I do quite like that this is not a sweary place but "hidden swearing" cracks me up, if they are old enough to interpret the actual word intended they probably use it in the play ground;). ( A bit like spelling out words you don't kids or pets to understand https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzZzGxReXmo :rotfl::rotfl:)
:rotfl: I know. I have been very badly behaved. Lol.PasturesNew wrote: »yesterday I had baked potato and beans and cheese

Scorchio again, luckily I'd watered everything by last night so no problems expected
I've half a large pizza LO from last night, it's in fridge on Amber alert,
Porridge breakfast then into town for YS mooch + shopping
Took some posh YS burgers out to defrost, clearing space, had them since Nov 2018
Spotted pack of finger rolls YS in Iceland, then fancied fish finger rolls, so pack of !!!!!! bought at same time
I needed cheese, on line search had revealed Asda had cheapest mature Cheddar, SP @ £4.47Kg but I found in store they had Wyke Farm Vintage cheddar @ £4.17Kg. 300g pack £1.25:j, no idea why, the other cheeses were not reduced, maybe I'm the only one who likes strong cheese? Four packs, BBE mid Sept, keep me going for a while
Fell into YS ham trap in W+rose, gammon joint YS, only the own label stuff not posh stuff. Just over a tenner, enough for at least 3 days I reckon. It is now in the SC, I'll cool later & use from tomorrow
2 x FF + tomato rolls for lunch
It'll be the 2 posh but small Stilton burgers + eggs + frozen chips for dinner
PS, banks, I found one of my on line current accounts vanished once, even though I looked regularly, seemed looking but not touching was not enough. Phone call fixed one but the other I had to go into branch and prove who I was, it only had a couple of quid in it.
Now I shuffle cash about, even if same bank, current to saving, then back again if needed but I forgot the ISAsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I've been snacking on watermelon all day and it is lovely and refreshing in this hot weather.:)
I also just made a watermelon salad for an early dinner - watermelon, red onion, cherry toms, lettuce, rocket and cubes of vegan cheese with a citrus dressing.
OMG, delish.
I'm going to make it again tomorrow but I want to get some cucumber and hopefully some fresh mint from the shop.2025 GOALS

Hot here today, but not sweltering.
CBA. I've had:
The rest of the bag of chocolates I bought yesterday (225g bag).
A fat toasted crust topped with beans & cheese.
The other fat toasted crust topped with beans & cheese.
It's a bit tiresome actively thinking about not buying in new food due to possibly moving in the next month or so.... although, today, my neighbour's sale's fallen through, so it's still fingers crossed in my camp.
It was bin day today - and I got to thinking about packing and storage - and I thought "wheelie bins are very water tight" - they sit out there in all that atrocious weather and don't get water in them. They can be a great size... with the wheels on them I wondered if they'd make great belongings containers if one were considering long term storage as they're big enough to fit lots of odd shaped things in, easy to move due to wheels, weather tight. You'd not cram them full of heavy books, but there's plenty of stuff that could easily go in them.
They're quite cheap to buy really - although it's a shame they're not more square. My recycling one is 240 litres, they cost about £40/new online without digging around - not a bad price compared to, say, £8-10 for a 56 litre plastic storage box (I bought 3 at £6 each this week).
£40/240 litres = 16p/litre
£6/56 litres = 10p/litre. But £8+ ones (as most are) would be 14p+/litre.
If only they didn't look like Council Bins reallySquare ones wouldn't.

Good evening everyone,
Yes the "Big Yin" can be very sweary Brambling but he still makes me laugh
Interesting re banking & looking not being enough Farway, I wonder if it depends on the bank? I think I'll make the odd shuffle just in case as there are no longer any local branches of the banks/building societies I have money with;).
I love watermelon in salad Wednesday especially with cucumber, red onion, feta & lots of mint. :)You could buy a tub of the growing mint from the SM and pot it on, they do really well and so handy to have to hand.
My sis & I got on well today at my Dad's, still a bit to do but definitely getting there now. When I came home I did some tidying up at the front - mainly taming a buddleia with world domination ambitions and a Kilmarnock willow that was resembling "It" from the Addam's family:rotfl::rotfl:. I had hoped to get a good bit done in the back garden but rain stopped play so just got a bit of dead heading done before I retreated.
Breakfast was the remaing hard boiled egg on a couple of oat cakes, lunch a pate & lettuce sarnie with cue sticks. baby plum toms and cherries on the side. As I wasn't sure how long we'd be today, dinner tonight is a repeat of yesterday's tuna/sauce/pasta. I cooked extra pasta last night though didn't mix it with the sauce as I think it dries/goes stodgy, still an easy "heat & eat" meal tonight. There will be a couple of portions of sauce left which I'll freeze.
I've sorted out a grocery delivery tomorrow as the kids are home tomorrow evening, elder son & his fiancee are on a "hi & bye" as the are up to go to Hen/Stag dos on Saturday and fly back on Sunday, younger son is here until the beginning of next week, though I'm unsure what his plans are so may well be CFO at points.0 -

I'm blaming you for my late night Caronc :rotfl: In the Brownies at midnight probably isn't a good idea on a school night
I think my japonica has the same idea as your buddleia  and even my nephew admitted defeat in digging up my dog wood
I forgot my tablets this morning (half asleep) forgetting the thyroid pill isn't too bad just once but not a good day to forget my hay fever one  it was a short walk lunch time.
Lunch was the last of some tuna mayo which needed eating with a jacket potato, I'm not too keen on microwave potatoes but it filled a hole. I made a Chinese style pork fillet and noodle dish with pak choi, pepper, mushrooms and spring onions for dinner, last years chillies are :eek::eek: only a small red one but it packed a punch  and I removed the seeds and white bits inside which are meant to be the hottest parts. I may offer some to my sister :rotfl:
