Normal Friday pop into L's. Routine stuff, the only "exotic" item on my list was dishwasher salt:D No YS offers around either. At least I've more milk now.

I also bought a 6 pack of the little juice things, the ones that you poke a straw in the top.

Not something I normally buy but tomorrow as part of Veterans' day there is free entry into the Dockyard & RN Museum, so I'm m going down there, with tomorrow forecast to be a scorcher I'll need something to drink without queuing forever and then stung a fortune at the end

Lunch was cheese & tom sarnie
Dinner will be a use up CBA one, toasted stale crust + tin beans, topped with grated cheese & couple of fried eggs

Gardening, need to do some watering once the heat goes down, but I've ordered my tom & beetroot seeds for 2020, on sale offer, couldn't resist

    Good evening everyone,
Cor it's been a scorcher here 30+ this afternoon and only 27C now! A bit hotter than I'm designed for  so have lurked in the shade for most of the afternoon, though got the weedkiller down earlier before it got too hot. Groceries arrived as ordered so supplies have been replenished. I have couple of dwarf beans almost ready to pick and I will need to use some mini pak choi to thin the plants out, with the courgettes coming on nicely a stir fry (or 2) will need to feature on next week's meal plan which I must have a think about tomorrow.
I just had some fruit for breakfast so was pretty hungry come 1.30pm when I got round to having lunch. Scotch egg, salad & a crusty roll banished the tummy grumbles:). Tonight I'm swithering between chicken kiev or chicken wings with oven chips, coleslaw and corn cob.
It's forcast to be much cooler tomorrow with rain coming in as the day goes on. A few more dry days would have been nice so hopefully the rainy spell won't drag on.

Yikes and double yikes - next door's cat has just marched in with something hairy & twitching hanging out his mouth and looking as pleased as punch:eek:, I have no idea what he's captured but he thankfully wandered straight back out and jumped onto the top of my shed to crunch in peace! I'd much rather not know so will leave him to it:cool:.

:eek: Caronc you've obviously made it feel like home for him so he's brought you a present :rotfl: I'm a little concerned that next door's new owners are cutting back the jungle what may find its way indoors with his lordship

I didn't know Scotland ever got that hot Caronc. :D;). We didn't make 30 today but they are threatening up to 33 tomorrow  there was a nice breeze when I went out lunchtime which then disappeared so by the time I finished my walk it was sticky.

For lunch I had buckwheat salad with loads of raw veg and parsley chopped into it a version of tabbouleh and the LO pork from yesterday. Dinner was LO runner beans and broccoli from yesterday with a salmon fillet panned fried a la Farway with a bit of butter :). I cooked a second one to have cold tomorrow

Not often do we get such high temperatures but not unheard of especially in the past few years. The West Coast does get the benefit of the Gulf Stream - there are palm trees on the seafront in Largs which is just up the coast. Yes next door's puss has definitely decided I'm on his "good people to visit" list but he's more than welcome to pop in without bringing gifts;).
Ended up with a complete change of direction for dinner as I remembered I had quite a bit of LO pasta & veg from yesterday. I added some diced pepperami, tomatoes & mozzarella as there wasn't quite enough LO for a meal. Saved adding more heat to the kitchen by switching the oven on which was "Brucie Bonus"

I'm sitting in my dressing grown early because my little angle obviously stood in it before burying it and then came home to wipe his feet on me  _pale_. Washing machine is also on.

When they leave it with you it's a gift, a present. They love and respect you.

It wasn't that hot here yesterday, due to the high winds. It's hot here this morning!

I did an 8am trip to L1dl, walked as it's only a few yards, but then picked up 12 cans of drinks and a couple of those individual juice cartons - a pack of blackcurrant and a pack of orange at 79p. Not a fan of carton drinks, but I figured I'd better stock up in case I wish I had in 6 hours' time when I'm dying for one :) If nothing else, they keep well in the car, so will get a use.

I only really went out for a loaf and a cucumber and "something salady" - so I also got a pack of cocktail sausages and a carton of mexican coleslaw. A pack of choc covered raisins found their way into my basket.

No ice-cream as I'm not a fan of ice cream as a staple - and I find the ones offered by L1dl/4ldi to be quite a limited range and a bit pricey for just "grabbing anything".

Today's food will be egg/cucumber sandwiches, tomato sandwiches, sausage sandwiches.

Phew, scorchio already and I've windows wide open.

Quick porridge breakfast then down to Dockyard for freebie day in the heat, like PN I've got the little cartons of drink to take along, plus sun cream for back of the neck where I always catch the sun
Luckily there is a slight breeze which may help a bit

Nothing planned on food front, just play it as it comes today.
