I had crackers with marmite for breakfast. Not very nutritious.:rotfl:

I am making courgette noodles with fried onions, brown lentils with pasta sauce so will make up for it then.:) I might add some spinach too.

I want my husband to bring home another vegan sausage roll from Gregg's again. I only tried one for the first time other day.

  • Thanks about the rice warning, I am aware. Had some of the chicken Wednesday, very nice, had a take-a-way with DD and family so that was goat curry, thought I would have rice maybe with some eggs or fish or lentils tonight but I see it is another chicken curry. Think I will have pork chops and potatoes tomorrow - back to my roots, usually only have curry about once a month.

Into L's on way to volunteering, nothing of note & no YS in there today, except manky salad leaves only suitable for compost

Chocs & choc rolls fell into basket on way to till

BLT PB baguette for lunch, opened another use up baguette pack

Dinner tonight is LO savoury mince, it was OK but not superb. I'll freeze the other portion

Since way back in Feb I've been planning to go down Southsea for the 75th D Day anniversary on Wednesday, now it seems every one from Her Maj downwards wants to join me, swines, the place is turning into a fortress with security.
I went for the 50th, it was easy then, HM drove in open car along the front, this time they'll need tanks.

I'm only there for the Red Arrows, D Day flight & the Fleet sailing for Normandy.

    Good evening everyone,
It's been another wet & miserable day here, I had to go out this morning and got drenched:(, I was very pleased to get back indoors.
As there was no way I was even thinking about gardening I gave a couple of non-food cupboards in my kitchen a good tidy. There wasn't anything I need to fling out but re-organising has created space for a fair bit of lurking clutter beside my kitchen island.:D
Lunch was a cold tandoori chicken drumstick with cucumber sticks & baby toms and a mug of mushroom soup. There's a portion of soup left which I'll freeze so a good yield for a bowl of by their best veg and some stale bread!
Tonight I'm having a bash at sourdough pizza, I made the dough last night using the discard from my starter when I was feeding it. Although I halved the recipe it seems to have made a fair bit of dough though it will be hard to tell how much spare there will be until I roll it out. I'll use some of the tom sauce I made on Wednesday on top along with some lurking ricotta and sliced chorizo and red onion. I suspect it won't look pretty but hopefully will taste good.:)

    :j :j it's Friday :rotfl:

As long as the pizza tastes good doesn't matter now it looks Caronc, definitely an advantage of CFO :D

I sat in the car when I go home tonight watching two magpies arguing with a jay and his lordship watching from a safe distance, he obviously has more sense then I though :D and decided to leave well alone I did scoop him up just in case... I had heard the Jay recently but this is the first time I've seen it :)

Lunch was a repeat of yesterday dinner breaded chicken salad with coleslaw but with cold chicken. After an hour phone call I cba to cook so dinner was falafels from the freezer, pita and salad.

    Isn't it just:):)

It's just about to go in the oven and it's only slightly looking like Australia:rotfl::rotfl: . Even using only 1/3 of the dough I reckon it will be LO cold pizza tomorrow. Bearing in mind the recipe was supposed to make enough dough for four individual pizzas and I halved it I dread to think what size of pizza the blogger ate:eek::eek:. It was an American site and I know portions tend to bigger but a half recipe would feed 4-6 especially if with sides.

    Good morning everyone,
It has stopped raining:D, I intend to make the most of it as it would seem to be a one day only reprieve!

A scorcher forecast for today, it's 85C + in the conservatory already, with door & windows wide

Usual porridge breakfast, then got on with clearing out the daffs in the front planters & replacing with geraniums [pelargoniums] before the heat gets round the front
Followed by cup of coffee & a co codamol, completed planting just as back started twinging:)

I've taken a YS XCFO free range chick out to defrost for tomorrow, if this weather keeps up it's chicken salad, if it cools it's roast dinner

Lunch expected to be BLT + last of the OOD PB baguettes

Dinner, looking very much like CBA, too hot to cook, cheesy beans on toast with couple of fried eggs topping

    Good evening everyone,

No scorcher here but definitely better than it's been! It's a shame the rain is coming back overnight.
Slugs/snails have obviously had a party during the recent rain and ravaged two pots of salvia, I'm afraid it's pellets down now as I don't want to lose the rest of them.
I got all my beans, peas and patio/basket tomatoes sorted out and the courgettes into their final position. The courgettes may need bigger pots in a few weeks but that's not a huge job. I've kept a few toms to grow in the conservatory which I usually do but have popped the ildi and maskota plants into the greenhouse instead of growing them in tubs on the deck. My kholrabi, chard & calvo nero seedlings are now on the deck to harden off and once they are in apart from more salad that should be it veg planting wise for this year:D.
I popped the LO pizza in the oven as I fancied it hot and it was as good as last night. I wish now I had frozen the spare dough in three rather than two portions but at least I can look forward to LO pizza again which is never a bad thing in my book.:)
Gammon steak baked in foil with a nectarine with roast toms & red onion, corn cob and a baked spud. I like gammon & peach or apricot so I'm hoping the nectarine works as well they do.
