I just realised I had an open jar of pesto, one of salsa and half a tin of black beans in the fridge so had fried onions, peppers, salsa and beans in the wraps.
I am going to have pesto pasta and a side salad later.0 -

... wedges...
I've never got on with wedges.... tried a few over the years, but I just find the texture's not as good as a good old chip. Chips are fairly uniform in shape and are usually peeled.... so they, for me, cook better than wedges, which have a thin bit and a fatter bit and usually have the skin on.
I'd choose chips every time; you can keep your wedges....
It's as if wedges have acquired some kind of mystical/higher level position, trumpeted above chips as a "healthy" item... but they're just "chips done badly"0 -

No, wedges are lazy man's chips when CBA to peel, slice thin etc, but I'm with Wednesdy, any spud in a storm:)Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Farway have you tried microwaving a half of lemon in a bowl of water some times that removes persistence smells from a microwave, I've also been known to use the water to wipe down the inside as well just mind it's not boiling
.
I rarely peel potatoes when making oven or airfryer chips, don't they say that where the goodness is, just under the skin
Popped into town today for a haircut, I had to wait 8 weeks for a Saturday appointment so it was getting messy and really thick, most days this week I've woken up looking like I've had an electric shock  I met my sister afterwards and after resisting half price boots (I don't need them and she's broke) we had lunch in a small cafe in town. We had a all day breakfast, they use a good local butcher and baker and are always happy to replace items ie toast instead of hash browns and poach eggs for you rather than friedI'm still feeling full so not thinking of dinner yet I may have an apple or pear with some blue cheese later if I get hungry

Helloooo!
I’m still alive but have been very busy this week and fairly stressed too. Also not actually cooked for one for almost a week as I’ve been out or had the kids here and have been with my boyfriend a lot.
Hope everyone is well? I’m off for a catch up of the thread now0 -
Good evening everyone,
I can't think of a way of cooking potatoes that I don't enjoy. I'd be hard pushed to pick a favourite and make wedges quite a lot. I do sometimes buy oven chips but a bag takes up a load of freezer space for ages as I don't fancy them that often and only cook a small portion at a time. Much as I like chips, be they oven or "proper" ones, I can only ever manage to eat a few. Tonight I'm having a small baked spud with my fish & veg.:) I enjoyed the soda scone for lunch, I had kind of forgotten how good they are toasted. There's another one still in the freezer that will be getting de-lurked in the next couple of days.:)
The rain held off and I found the oomph to give the windows a good scrub. The outsides are looking much better but of course it's shown up that the insides need doing and that's a job I can't manage by myself so will have to wait. I also got some begonia and ranunculus bulbs potted up so feel it's been a reasonably productive day:). I think I've more or less decided on what plants I want to order, must get the order placed tomorrow as I want a tray of Spring violas delivered in the next couple of weeks. I like the fact that the nursery I use lets you pick and stagger delivery dates within the one order at no extra charge and I will spend enough to get free delivery I'll order my Autumn pansies as well:cool:. I buy stuff as teeny plug plants and as my greenhouse is unheated over the next couple of months my conservatory turns into a garden centre:D.0 -
'Morning all, I was up at 6, could not sleep and I'm expecting my package before 9, ho ho, it's 9.30 now. I was getting up anyway so no sleep lost
Sun's out, good, not that I'm doing much out, more inside today. My package is a caddy for PC hard drive, with this PC starting to play up lately I'm guessing it may suddenly go bytes up so I'm trying to get a jump ahead before I'm up byte creek without a mouse
Breakfast was usual slightly kippery porridge:o
I've taken es XCFO lamb leg out to defrost, all being well today is full on roast day
Brewed more yoghurt, and now waiting for parcel while mooching among the dead possible rellies on lineFarway have you tried microwaving a half of lemon in a bowl of water some times that removes persistence smells from a microwave, I've also been known to use the water to wipe down the inside as well just mind it's not boiling.

The lemon Idea sounds good, the whiff being in the works somewhere, I've no lemon, but Shrove Tuesday is not far way so that may solve that. I could use LJ but if fresh ones will be knocking around on offer soon I may as well wait
I'm another none peeler of spuds, except for mash & roast, I've had roast with skin on so not adverse, depends on skin state TBHEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Sun's out...
At my house I don't get to see it.... it'll be at least another month before it starts getting over other buildings and reaches me/indoors.
Summer, there's sun (in the wrong places at the wrong times), but six months of the year that's none that reaches the house/inside at all.... sunny days entirely pass me by. All I can see now is blue skies above if I look outside, but I've no direct sunshine in my windows.0
