Good evening everyone,
Sorry to hear you are still feeling unwell Wednesday, hopefully it on it's way out.
Veg stew & dumplings sounds lush PN, glad it turned out well.
I was tired after being out this morning so had my usual quite afternoon. I did have a noodle through the fridge and have a semi meal plan for the next few days though I'm still pondering over dinner tomorrow. I'm going to make a beef stew on Sunday as the weather is to turn pretty cold and PN has given me a notion for one though I'm going to try and just make a couple of portions.:).0 -
Made out a mealplan for this week again - have found I semi sorta stick to them:cool:
Today (and tomorrow as well) being stirfry with marinated tofu in. Errrm...didnt get round to thinking of it early enough to do rice with it - so it was couscous then....
I have noted Caron's thoughts re pre-cooking rice. Errrrm....followed by sending off for some glass meal prep. containers, thinking they'd do well for that (amongst other things).
Someone remind me that, once this diet is finished, I must never let any weight go on again. Weeks at a time on a diet is not my idea of fun:(. Now what was that comment by my mother "It's easier to keep it off in the first place - then take it back off again in the second place". Still trying on the clothes I'm waiting-to-wear-again regularly to incentivise myself - won't be long now before I can wear some of my trousers and jeans again...0 -

I've a few things on/ needing to spend time on next week so I've a stir fry "meal deal" in with my order next week as some days I won't have much time or inclination to prep stuff . At £2.50 for veg pack, singapore noodles + sauce it's okay price-wise. Yes I could make cheaper but I do like them and it feels like a bit of a treat and much, much cheaper than a takeaway. From past experience the noodles and sauce freeze okay if don't fancy the other portion the next day to and I'll get through the veg pack easily.0 -
I never buy "veg packs", they're a handy con.
Handy as you get just a little of everything, but a con as they tend to be, say, £1 and weigh 1Kg.... and then you see that onions don't cost £1/kilo, nor do carrots, nor do spuds, nor do parsnips ... nor anything in there at all.
I noticed this morning that 4ldi had them for sale, I think they were £1.... I just snort quietly....
So I've never bought one because .... I just feel ripped off.0 -
My meal planning is the same, I kind of stick to them, some days I cba and some days I over cook so end up having it multiple days
Wednesday hope you feel better soon, it sounds like this cold crepted up when your defenses we're down with the bug
Another fun day at work but with the exception of one issue still bouncing between IT teams everything was resolved todayI think I may have shocked our new lady by announcing loudly that one of the IT guys was talking a load of b******ks and banging my head on the desk, in my defence it's been a long week :rotfl: my boss just agreed with me he probably thought it safer especially after I assured him I hadn't put that in the email :rotfl:
A grey day today which suited the mood, definitely a stay indoors day drizzle and foggy the kind of day I hate driving home in, the bendy country lanes are bad enough in the dark without the rain and fog, I was half way home before I remembered where my fog lights were
Lunch was last of the soup and dinner was roasted cauliflower cheese and LO meatballs. I now have LO cauliflower cheese and ratatouilleLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

I can't feel my fingers, because I made a stupid, stupid, mistake..... yesterday I cooked a really stinky stew... with smelly things in it. Lingering smelly smells.... and it wasn't until late in the evening I remembered I have a viewer coming quite early this morning
I tried the old Febreze trick a few times last night, it improved, but it was still omnipresent.
ALL windows open ..... all..... trying to get rid of the smell
Lunch today will be some of that stew, with a toasted bread roll.
Tea might be the remainder of that stew, with a couple of dumplings.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Hi candygirl - sounds like good cold weather fare you are making.:)
Hope the smell goes PN!
Not sure about food for today yet, I had planned to have a HM pork, apple & sage burger from the freezer but looking at the forecast for this evening I think stovies might be a better option.:) It's to get pretty cold. It's nice & bright just though so I'm going to wrap up and get out doors for some fresh air.0 -
Bit of a restless night which resulted in a lie in, it was misty murky weather as well so very little incentive to crawl out of my pit
later than norm breakfast of norm porridge etc. I tried some of my fresh batch of yoghurt made with a Bulgarian starter I bought on line.
It has turned out exactly as promised, thick & creamy with a slight tang which I prefer over the sugary commercial ones
Sun's out now, bit chilly, but I need to get the last of the daffs in before it's too late for them. Some from previous years already have green shoots above ground
Lunch will be last of the luncheon meat, probably in a YS Brioche roll, maybe with piccalilli, I think the onion chutney may have upset my tum so I'll bin what's left of it, safer than sorry, again
Dinner, more LO fry up I think but that may changeCompletely agree re the general veg packs of carrot/spud/swede etc, but I do think the stir fry packs are a bit more CFO friendly and all pre sliced. To get such a variety of veg I'd need to buy a load of stuff that needs using quickly which I don't find practical, the pack I'm getting has 6 different veg in it a lot of which wouldn't keep for more than a couple of days such as beansprouts and I'd struggle to use a whole pack of these:eek::)
Same here, I used to buy the stir fry packs for the same reason, no way could I buy bean sprouts, water chestnuts, mange tout etc in small enough quantity to CFOEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
