Another one noticing the darker mornings, I dozed off after I woke and still dark at my normal time.

I don't set an alarm, being retired I can get up any time I feel like it

Sun's out but still not going to cut the grass

Breakfast normal porridge, with diced apple, yoghurt & honey
Today is a use up day

Lunch will be one of the BB baguettes, with use up Red Leicester cheese & salad filling
Dinner is LO use up beef stew, but I'll plop fresh dumplings in

I'm following the Bodyguard, recorded. I have to be extra eagle eyed when I watch it later, seems some was filmed in one of my childhood stamping grounds, the Arcade in Uxbridge

I'm another fan of parsley :D are you growing it indoors Farway? I usually just grow it during the summer and then buy the supermarket pots during the winter.

Flubberyzing/ Farway now I have tuna pasta on my mind, may have to rejig my meal plan for end of week

I'm going to try growing parsley inside this year, noramlly just outside in summer. At the moment it is in a pot in the conservatory but I expect I'll have to bring it in once the weather turns colder

Oh, I've been REALLY enjoying Bodyguard! It's written by Jed Mecurio, who has done some other shows I've really enjoyed. It seems to be following a bit of a pattern of his previous work, where episode 5, of 6, is quite talky, then the last one will be utterly brilliant!
I've heard the last episode will also be slightly longer as well.
I'm looking forward to seeing how it all comes together! There's still a lot of loose threads to tie up! :rotfl:

I thought I might try 'Killing Eve' on iPlayer tonight. I've seen some positive reviews and the trailer looked quite good.

I watched it, def worth seeing if you like Bodyguard.

I thought when I saw the cast list "oh no, not more diversity box ticking" but love the part as played by Sandra Oh

Not looking for spoilers but seems there's a series two already.

Went out this morning to look at a couple of houses, so took the opportunity to try the lunchtime meal deal at a local chippy there - £2.30 for a small tray of chips and a large fishcake. That went down a treat.

Into the Co-op to buy some cans of drink (cheaper than chippy, who wanted 85p for 1 and I need some in the car for when I'm out and about) ... and I grabbed a bag of 5 doughnuts. Review: Don't bother with those, they're not good.

That's it for today ... chips, fishcake, 5 doughnuts :)

There's a lot worse diversity box ticking - I'm even struggling with the odd "watch" of Bollywood clips/films if they are modern ones or if I have to "applaud" one more person that's had a makeover on a makeover show and being described as stunning whilst I'm looking at them still waiting for them to have a makeover in the first place......:whistle::silenced:

Just wondering PN how big a part will a decent nearby chippy play on your house buying decisions :D.

This morning there was definitely a slight nip in the air but it turned into a lovely day, tee shirt weather when walking lunchtime :) I've got both yesterday's Bodyguard and Killing Eve recorded just need to settle down and catch up before the weekend :)

We had our new team member start at work today, so fingers crossed she works out, first impressions were good but it's early days :) she can't be any worst then the last person  she doesn't seem the type to not come in when it's too hot or too cold.

Lunch was a portion of minestrone soup made yesterday and dinner was an Asian duck stir fry with soba noodles so plenty of veg today :rotfl:

  • Morning!

    Blowy out there today!
I meant to watch 'Killing Eve' last night, as well as catching up with Supervet. But I got caught up doing some bits on-line. And by the time I'd done that, done the washing up, had a shower etc, it was well gone 9pm. I'll try again tonight.
I'm not working today, so I guess in theory, I could watch them during the day... But I just prefer not to have the tv on in the day... For me, tv is an evening thing. But everyone is different!

Todays dinner will be a repeat of yesterdays. I've got the last 3 potato croquettes, that were YS'd yesterday, half a pack of goujons and broccoli. Basically, eating the fresh stuff I purchased yesterday first. Then freezer/cupboard meals on the meal plan can go later in the week. :)
I opened half a jar of pasta sauce on Sunday night, so that will need to be eaten tomorrow.

It won't matter :) The chips were OK/passable... the staff of the "shuffling feet/disinterested/disappearing and you're not sure if they've forgotten you" type.

I've got a top quality/fab chippy over the road from where I currently am and in four years have probably had chips twice :)

    :wave::wave: Hello everyone,

I'll get a proper catch up later. That's me back to CFO after a really lovely but busy few days with the kids here. I have a fridge full of "bits" so dinner will be based around those! I also have a "spare" whole raw chicken (as you do:eek:) which needs portioning but probably not today;).
I've spent this morning returning the house to some sort of normality & tackling the laundry mountain. I'm well and truly ready for some feet up time and no doubt a snooze this afternoon.
I admitted defeat and popped the heating on on Friday so as far as I'm concerned Autumn is definitely here. The temperature as really dipped the past few days so the house is getting decidedly chilly come evening not helped by the really wild & windy weather,
Lunch is a toasted roll with (really rather yummy) Belgian pate and tomatoes & cucumber from the greenhouse. A small piece of gorgeous LO "White Russian" cake my cousin made may well follow:).
  • Well at least you don't have to think about food too much for the next few days Caron - as you eat the "deads" (as my mother calls them).

My central heating went on the day I came back from recent home visit. I'd been there opening windows/taking off clothes/etc and thinking "If I can ever get the chance to move back - I will be putting ceiling fans in every room - after having lived in colder West Wales".

I got on the train coming back/walked in the door/felt the temperature generally - and the heating went on and I'm wearing extra clothing again. A friend here was ridiculing it being noticeably colder within the same country - at which point I pointed out the evidence that another friend had checked respective temperatures for a day earlier that week and it was 5C colder here.

Rather you than me up north...
