Roasting like many others, it's 102F in my conservatory, even with windows & door open. Be better once sun moves round
No "odd" dreams last night, never found the pickled onion factory in Pompey
Last night's crumble was all I hoped, plenty left. Bit disappointed with the evaporated milk topping, my taste memory playing tricks:( Custard or cream would've been better. Solved for tonight, I've now got Greek yoghurt to plop on top
MTSTM had to search for chuckleberry, seems interesting, but I'm deluged with currant bushes so not for me. I had an e mail this morning, from the nursery I bought my grape from, plant of the year at Chelsea, small mulberry tree, only £60 plus quid:eek: Think I'll give that a miss as well
Into town, needed odds & ends, but found a YS cheese & broccoli quiche during the mooch, dinner solved right there
Lunch was last of the BF ham, with salady bits in a sandwich
Dinner, some of the YS quiche, with salad on the side, with B & A crumble to follow, maybe use the last of the evap milk, or dive into the Greek yoghurt. Decisions, decisions
Bit of a tomato mystery now ripening. What I thought was Pink Brandywine beefsteak is not, thought it was perhaps Sungold, but not that, it's long trusses of yellow cherry toms, no idea, not one I've bought, maybe incorrectly packed seeds,?
Reading on line wrong seeds in the packet seems very prevalent this yearEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Toooooo hot to eat.
I started with a filling cooked breakfast, quite early. Hash browns, sausages, beans, scrambled eggs.
I've had a packet of crisps since then.
It's too hot to think about pulling any food together; I've got a stonking headache, just taken 2 tablets.0 -
Are they maybe "Sun Baby" tomatoes Farway?
Snooze has been had but it's still too hot to do any gardening, I think a lurk with my book in the shade next to the compost might be in order. It's not the prettiest part of my garden but it is the coolest.
Hope the headache recedes PN - try running your wrists (and ideally feet) under cold water that usually works for me.0 -
Good evening everyone,
My word it has been hot here today certainly not 35C like some parts but still too warm to enjoy. I'm so glad I was in a roasting office;).
After a lurk near the compost with my book I did some tomato tidying in the greenhouse. The sun had moved a bit so it wasn't too bad in there and it's was good to get the jungle tamed again.:)
I've defrosted a couple of pork souvlaki LO from a recent bbq for dinner tonight. These are going to get de-skewered and mixed with various garden veg and either rice or chick pea/lentil mix from the freezer for a an easy cook but hopefully tasty meal.0 -
I hope this is the right thing to post but hey ho.
kittie - seen that you can't post just now or get messages but can view the boards. Hope all is ok and sending <<hugs>>, hope it gets sorted out soon x0 -
Had thunder, then two short bursts of rain (5 mins apiece), the temperature dropped by 3°F ... and so I cooked pizza.
Actually, it wasn't very nice. Sainsbobs, sourdough base I think. I prefer a more doughy base.0 -
Hopefully the rain will come our way PN although the garden needs a lot more than 10 mins. Hope your headache is better now, maybe it was the storm brewing which caused it?
I got as far as making the meatballs but nothing else, so I've picked at 3 or 4 from the dish, at least the heat is good for something I seem to be melting away [STRIKE]I wish[/STRIKE] another 2lb lost so that's 9lb down :T hoping once the weather breaks which will hopefully be soon it doesn't slide back on again

Kittie asked me to let you know that she's OK, has been packing and is shattered but that she has found a removal firm who can meet her wishes. She'll be back posting 7th August. Good news eh?0
