Lol re your friend Brambling, I messaged Tesco via their FB page when I wanted to pass on a compliment.
Thanks Caronc I'll look on Sunday, she definitely deserves the praise.

    Dreaming - I swither a lot too  :D

    Me too!

It was a freezing start to the day, not helped by a 20 minute catch up with my neighbour she was alright she had a heavy wool coat on, I didn't 🥶 I arrived just on time for volunteering rather than my usual early.

i came out of a meeting to three missed calls from my friend re her phone 😕 then a message saying her neighbour was going to look at something for her, seeing as she has gone quiet I hope he resolved it.  She knew where I was and couldn't take calls.

I popped into the SM for milk, bananas and a roll for lunch tomorrow on the way home and then made a mistake on the do I go the left or right route home it was 5.30pm with the town filling up with people as the Christmas lights were being turned on and there were a lot of stuff in town. As soon as I turn left at the lights I realised there was a long queue of traffic, we inched slowly until I could go right around the roundabout and back track, I could see blue flashing lights the other side of the roundabout which I assumed were not Christmas lights 🙂 His lordship was not impressed when I pulled in after 6pm, not sure why he was outside in the cold doing his I'm starving impersonation.

Salmon and cottage cheese salad for lunch, using up the last of the sad salad stuff, I have a delivery Sunday.  Lasagna from the freezer for dinner, not the beef one I expected but a roasted vegetable version, I should have labelled it better than just lasagna it was still tasty 😁

Ooh, I like swithering as a word, will try to use it 🙃

Very cold and scraping the car at 7.15 took ages!

Portion of spicy soup with the last of the seeded sourdough from the freezer for lunch. Pasta with tuna, broccoli, spring onion and pesto tonight. Need a proper shop tomorrow. Have a sainsburys voucher from car insurance rewards so might go there for a change.

    Wet and gloomy, as forecast.
Ideal for mince soup I'd say, never had it but I was thinking along Corned Beef hash lines this morning, warm & comforting old-style food

    lunch, more OM mackerel pate
dinner, choice of two RM MFO, Italian or Chinese? Or may go wild with corned beef hash?

    Good morning everyone,
What a change in the weather, after a spell of very heavy rain following an absolutely baltic day it's a positively balmy 8C just now!
I've always made mince or haggis soup N2BT no specific recipe just whatever is kicking about veg wise. I grew up on the stuff as it featured regularly. I realise now it was probably my Mum stretching meat to save cash in run up/ after Christmas as we had lots of soup meals during that period which I always really enjoyed especially as we tended to have a "proper" pudding such as crumble & custard afterwards.
DS2 has just arrived back, his project won two awards so he's pretty happy with that.
Lunch is tbc, probably mince soup from the freezer and tonight it's flatbread pizza with salad.

I'm not normally so indecisive - in fact I am known for doing the research and making a decision and sticking to it. I think it's partly because going for a smaller f/f seems like an admission of getting older and more infirm, both of which are true but still doesn't match up with my head:), Anyway, I had my normal shopping delivery yesterday and briefly the fridge was full - I even had some veg in the salad drawer. This morning I have portioned stuff up and frozen what I wanted to, and started a beef stew in the slow cooker, which will do for 2 days plus probably 3 portions for the freezer. So now the fridge is only half full (and will be eaten down in the next week or so) but the freezer is fairly well packed. I think the 143 cm tall model will be ok but may switch to fortnightly supermarket deliveries instead of monthly. Not only will that reduce the need for fridge capacity for a day or two each month but may help me, as packing stuff away and peeling the veg for the stew this morning has worn me out. I have an auto-immune condition as well as arthritis, so I never know how much energy I will have day to day, and today is definitely on the lower end. Looking forward to the stew though!

I do remember mum making soup using a piece of thick rib of beef and would shred the beef and put it back in the soup or we would have the soup on it’s own followed by the beef with some mashed potatoes - next time I’m at the butcher I must get a piece of thick rib  :)

I took a notion to have a RM pizza tonight so I took a bus up the coast to visit A$d and they have had quite a bit more snow up there than we did. Their pavements are still bad in places whereas we had quite a shift with yesterday's rain and today’s sunshine but the warm temp has not quite reached us on the East coast yet only a high of 5c.

I picked up some YS brown rolls too so having a hard boiled egg sandwich for lunch and will treat myself to a glass of wine with my pizza tonight   ;)

Dinner out last night was delicious. I am going for pizza later so I had fruit and yogurt this morning before my class and then just had some crackers with olive houmous when I got home as I don’t want to ruin my appetite.

It's been very wet today and the rain got harder driving home from Petworth.  Considering the weather we were reasonably busy today.  I'm glad not to be volunteering next week as it's the Christmas market and if it's like last year it will be manic, although this year the aren't holding it the same day as the one in Petworth. Last year the town became gridlock.

Ham and Brie roll for lunch. I couldn't find my new pot of English mustard this morning, I'm sure I brought a new pot before the last one finish.  I put Dijon on instead.

I cba to cook tonight so dinner was a tin of tomato soup with a slice of cheese on toast

    Good morning,
Oh I've not had a pot of soup made with a piece of boiling beef in a long time, proper ribsticking stuff.
Wet and cooler again here today. Yesterday I made a pot of golden veg soup using up some lurking fridge veg and a bag of par cooked chopped carrot, parsnip and swede I prepped when the SMs had cheap veg at Easter. It was the last bag so good timing to do the same again at Christmas. I'm looking forward to a bowlful for lunch. I'll be well souped today as dinner is the second half of JO's fish pie soup I made earlier in the week.
