So your leeks were leaking Farway :rotfl::rotfl:

Goodness there have been some industrious CFOers today, can't say I've been one of them as fell asleep this afternoon:o.

I thoroughly enjoyed my gammon salad sandwich for lunch and as I also was a greedy beggar and scoffed a couple of slices mid afternoon:o , I certainly don't want it again this evening:eek:. I've defrosted a lamb steak and will have it with stir fried leeks & cabbage and either root veg mash from the freezer or steamed carrots. For tomorrow I've a portion of spinach & ricotta lasagne defrosting as I'll need a quick dinner to nuke as I have folk round early evening.

I just about managed 6 yesterday and that was a struggle, didn`t make the veg juice because I was busy all morning and more. I need to make it today, I have a veg box plus celery coming tomoroow and my veg drawers need some clearing

breakfast as usual, I am eating 3 well soaked organic dried apricots every day, they puff up to the size of apricots if I soak them long enough and they are nice. Lunch has to be a rm (I need to use 3 up) and the same fried kale and garlic as yesterday, it was nice

I have a berry/apple crumble and hm yogurt. I made a nice lemon cake yesterday afternoon, using the rest of the ricotta, I need to freeze slices, leaving one out. Last meal, no idea but that peasant bread fills me quite well and probably that as toast. Drat I have quite a few red cos lettuce leaves, told you the oxo metal salad spinner keeps lettuce nice. I will have to juice half today and the rest tomorrow, either that or I eat lettuce for a snack or on top of peanut butter on toast

I made the veg juice early, had to before I got that cba feeling. I quite like the chopping and the cleaning was easy, I also got to add some raw healthy beetroot and half the lettuce leaves. Then I had a slice of hot toast with a cheese slice on top and a nice cup of real coffee

Not doing much today, sitting in the weak struggling sun, reading is the best I can do. Not safe at all to cycle anywhere later, will be slippy corners under shade

If I designed bikes they'd have three wheels. Two at the front, or rear, spaced just inches apart, to give more stability without looking "like a trike".

Years ago I saw a scooter like that, you could hardly tell it had two wheels at the back. These days you see some with 2 wheels at the front, that are obviously 3-wheelers... but I think there's room in the marketplace for subtle-close 3 wheels so you don't stand out from the crowd, but don't have to put your foot down on the ground; it'd also be easier to park the darned things if you didn't have to rely on needing something to lean them against.

I'd also have handlebars that were on a simple nut/bolt that could be stored upright in tight spaces, then dropped down to use them. Ditto for pedals. Not everybody buys a bike for action sports.... sometimes we just want a nice, stable little ride that takes up little space when not used, but not a "folding bike".

Morning all and Happy Spring Equinox. :j
Last night I had the second half of my 'nutty' pork stew. It was just to heat up and even more delicious the second time around. Got some dry cured bacon and chestnut mushrooms for tonight and will fry it up with fresh soda bread - with some token left over spring greenery currently lurking in the fridge.
Was glad I didn't risk the car at the weekend, as yesterday I passed a car that had skidded on the ice and which was still waiting on the side of the lane for collection. I noticed the airbag had inflated. That's never happened to me - I think it would be a big shock in itself! How do you get the air bag back in situ again?

I've never seen one either.... I believe that once they've gone off that's it and you have to have a new one fitted. There's something that sets them off that is destroyed in the action.

One use and it's a whole new one. No packing it back in :)

I popped out ..... top of the list, sausage rolls. So it was 2 hot sausage rolls for lunch.

Sliced/wrapped the cabbage/parsnip B&S I made the other day and shoved four fat chunks in the freezer.

Also stocked up on oven chips .... and bought a new pack of fish fingers.

I then realised I'd made a mistake yesterday - hadn't put two frozen bread rolls back in the freezer, so they're defrosted. As they were half price/on their use by date when frozen that dictates that later today I'll have to eat bread rolls in some way... I expect beans on a toasted bread roll will feature high (need to check the status on beans.... hope I've got a tin)

Thaw has started, sun's out still a bit chilly but wind has dropped

Nil breakfast, then into L's this morning, basics plus summat for dinner inspiration was required

At least the tomatoes were good ones this week, stocked up. Dinner inspiration came as YS family Hawaiian pizza, so bought a cuc as well. Dinner sorted, pizza & side salad
Also stocked up on oven chips .... and bought a new pack of fish fingers.

Well done PN, my L's freezers are nearly empty, the only chip like item were "fries" I want chips, not skinny spud sticks:(

Mid morning biscuit, plus there was a table selling HM cakes to help raise cash for our centre. All the recent talk of boiled fruit cake, and there was one:T. Bought a big slice for later today

Lunch was a W/rose mini cheese, ham & leek quiche. Part of my two for a tenner meal deal. Very nice. I had some piccalilli with it. One left in the pack for tomorrow

Dinner is as mentioned, pizza + salad, I have oiked a mozzarella cheese out of freezer and will add slices to the pizza. Could be CFO LO cold pizza breakfast:o

My bread has gone stale, it's over week old, I just don't eat much of it these days. I may venture into soda bread, or perhaps try the farls mentioned, never had them

    Good afternoon everyone,
It has, dare I say it, been almost "Spring" like here today though still pretty cold in the shade. Shame it's not to continue as it's to be wet and mild for the next few days but here's hoping that's the seasons changing.

My trip to the Drs went as expected, meds have been upped again:( and back next week for review. I do hope this settles things as my GP surgery is dissolving on 30/03 and it will be a locum service for a while. I don't know if I can hack continually having to explain things all the time. :(

Nothing very exciting in the food department, no breakfast and lunch was the last of the gammon with salad and crackers. I've a portion of spinach & ricotta lasagne defrosted for later.

Spent most of this afternoon cleaning as I have visitors early evening tonight. Not really a social visit but to do with a voluntary group I support so I don't really know folk so wanted the place to be spick and span:)
