Blue sky & sunshine this morning, plus Gout 2.0 seems to be easing so more comfortable limping about

Nice to hear about others "steamed" microwave puds, now on my must-try list
Still compiling the Asda online shopping for next week delivery, adding & subtracting items but hoping to close soon, or it will go on forever

Food today is use up items
Lunch, toasted HM bread topped with grilled cheese & piccalilli
Dinner, the YS minute steak from Mark's had more in then I expected, so I have the same again tonight but have to sniff first because it is now opened & past Use By. Assuming it passes it's that with HM AF chips, fried eggs and grilled wrinkly use up quick tomatoes

    Good afternoon everyone,
Tesco have been and shopping put away, only one, acceptable, sub.
Need to contact Virgin Media over the next few days as my current package ends at the beginning of January and no way am I paying what they are saying it's increasing to. Not sure I'm in the mood to haggle today so maybe a job for Monday.
I'm being bombarded by spammy dodgy Black Friday emails purporting to come from various high street retailers but aren't. :s  Not sure why they aren't being picked up as spam so will need to reset my settings I think.
LOs for lunch and usual Friday freezer rake for dinner - possibly breaded haddock.
  • Made it to Friday 🙃

Got my catch up wfh day but didn’t seem to achieve that much, oh well can’t do everything. Got a load of towels mostly dry on the line, just finished them off in the dryer so they’re nice and fluffy too.

Posh fishfinger sandwich for lunch and harissa courgette and prawn orzo tonight. Looking forward to a chilled weekend 😊
  • Oh no Brambling. I am hopefully quite prepared now if I get a powercut. I would hope it didn't last long, though.

I ate too much restaurant food in Cardiff. I need to eat some fruit and veg today. I have some fresh asparagus that I will eat up later.

Asda shopping list completed, over & above my normal spend, but I've added Christmas extras this week to make sure, exciting stuff like a packet of peanuts and variety pack of biscuits just to pick at while I'm watching my on offer Now Christmas cinema package at £1 a month, seems to have fallen right for once and although most films are rubbish IMO maybe there will be just one for me this Christmas that is not zombies or superheroes?
I started watching Devil's Hour on Amazon, but that's another one that's lost me after one episode, no idea what's going on and CBA to watch & get more confused only to maybe find out it was rubbish anyway

Caron, I have loads of BF offers as well, but mine seem genuine so the Gmail filter is working for me, I've just taken up a BF offer on loose tea, I had hoped there would be an offer and there was, saved a few quid there, later I'm browsing dahlias at T & M, I may grow some next year for a change, at least they are mainly plant & forget down here

On similar note, my NOW broadband expired, and I thought they offered me to do nothing and carry on as before, seems my thoughts and theirs were not the same, jumped by £12 :s . However, all resolved now & back to where I was, very politely & promptly done once their error was pointed out.

And still on the up, my replacement issue of barcoded stamps arrived in time for my card posting, one less to send this year though, my cousin is off on a cruise, Indian Ocean & East African coast, nice for her, travelling with her daughter & SIL, says she decided to do it while the opportunity is there, good idea

Made a loaf overnight in the Panny, so fresh bread for lunchtime sarnie, I may go for BLT lunch today
Dinner, trying out a frozen Holland's steak & kidney pudding, never had one and despite the steaming hoping it's good and not a let-down like FB pies
Because it needs steaming I will steam fresh cauli, broccoli and carrots in with it, plus LO nuked mash & extra granule gravy
Weather is dull, so ideal comfort food

    Good afternoon everyone,
Resetting my email settings seemed have curbed the spam.
Wet and wild here today. My sis popped by with her pooch much to Hector's delight. Poor Ari though would seem to have pulled a muscle and wasn't his usual self though was happy enough running about the garden. He's fine on the flat but wary of stairs or jumping and he's usually spring loaded.
DS1 is popping by before heading to meet mates to watch the footie but apart from that a quiet day as my joints are still very painful.
Bacon butty for lunch a sticky chicken wings with a baked spud, corn and mushrooms for dinner.
  • Quiet day here, needed after a manic week. Ran a couple of errands in town and did a food shop, ironed a few bits, changed the bed, pottered around.

Lunch was spinach and ricotta tortellini, sweetcorn and sun dried tomatoes plus some of the oil from the jar and Parmesan shavings. Made a cherry tomato and roasted pepper stew tonight to have with tuna steak and the end of a bag of oven chips 😋

Evening all, it looks like a wrote a post yesterday and didn't post it 🙄 you didn't miss much 😁

my day was very much like JKS 🙂 just no ironing and she has now reminded me I haven't made up my bed yet. I only popped into town for a hour, so it was a quick dash into M&S for milk,  banana and a crusty roll and a wander around the market.  The cast from the pantomime were singing in the bandstand so I stopped for a while to listen but with just a hour on the car in the car park I couldn't stand for long.

Lunch was a bacon and egg roll 😋 Dinner was chicken wings (snap Caronc 🙂) which I had with LO mushroom pilaf and vegetables

Back to rain again, perfect trudging damply around shops for Christmas type of day. I'll pass on that :o

The frozen, S & K pudding was OK, I have three more left in the packet, but I'll not be rushing to replace them, nice enough & make a good pub lunch with mash & peas I expect

    Lunch, another BLT sarnie
Dinner, roasting the Marks's chicken quarters as per last time for crispy skins now I know what to expect & how tasty they turn out
I think I'll may make a pot of mash & have some with the chicken and nuked frozen peas

    Good morning everyone,
Dry and still here today, what a contrast to yesterday.
We've removed Hector's cone as he well healed and he's been a good boy and isn't poking at the wound area. He gets his final post op check tomorrow. It's lovely not to be getting constantly bashed by the edge of the cone, my legs are covered in the thin bruised lines!
A day for kitchen pottering today, I have lamb legs and shoulders to bone, roll and portion for the freezer and want to make soup and cauli cheese. I had ordered a standard cauli with my groceries but it was subbed with an extra large one that certainly deserves the description. I'll blanch and freeze the extra florets. I have two lovely pork chops from the butcher's defrosting for dinner.
