Good news about Hector getting the cone off.:)

I've just been watching the World Cup all day today and yesterday. I had a toastie for breakfast.

I'm not sure what to have for lunch. I might look at what I have in the freezer and just have it with whatever veggies I have. I think I have carrots, peppers and tomatoes. Actually scratch that I think I might make a chickpea curry with rice as I just saw I have coconut milk.

  • Happy to help, Brambling 😉. One of the worst feelings is only remembering at bedtime that you need to remake the bed! I’ve got much better about doing it earlier…

Another fairly quiet day. Did some outdoor pottering, a bit of domestic goddessing and some voluntary admin. Weather has been strangely grey and damp but very mild 🤔

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast for lunch. Made a batch of beef in red wine in the slow cooker so a portion of that with mash and green beans for dinner. Also made a batch of smoked mackerel pate, mainly to use up a tub of soured cream 😅

I frequently do this  :s I usually blame the cat because I hate to disturbed him if he is curled up asleep on the bed when I go up to do it and then I forget

i am all out of sync tonight, I had a bad sleep last night I was still awake at 2am and dozed off early evening when I sat down to watch tv at 6ish I'm not usually a napper and it wasn't a deep sleep as I was aware of the tv especially when the louder adverts came on.  I did awake enough at 8pm with a sore hip and went to bed and slept until 11.30pm, so now it's 1am I've gave up trying to go back to sleep and have just eaten a bowl of cereal as I missed dinner and I'm listening to a podcast in the hope I'll go back to sleep in a bit

I went around to my sister late morning for a gossip and cuppa so did have a late lunch when I got home at 2pm using the bacon up in a BLT.

I'm another out of sync for today, Brambling. Woke up thinking it was Tuesday, wishing life away.
Very dull & wet first ting, but sun's out now, so maybe it'll keep bright?
Thanks JKS, mackerel pate mention has reminded me to add some SM to next online shop in for Christmas pate. Back in pre covid & mooch around shop, I could always rely on finding YS SM for freezer top-ups but my stock has long gone

Meals, lunch maybe open tin of fake Spam and have with salad bits in a sarnie
Dinner, if I open the fake Spam then I'll have some with more salad & LO mash

    Good morning everyone,
Must be out of sync day all round - I thought it was Sunday!
Drs appt later to discuss my test results <<fingers crossed>>
Domestics and general pottering today. It's dry so will wash the back windows, no doubt with a furry helper!
LOs for lunch and either dal or chicken traybake for dinner.
  • I managed to miss what looked like a very exciting goal-filled match this morning as I was hanging up laundry and generally pottering around the house. My husband missed it too as he had to go out for a routine blood test!

I had a Pot Noodle for lunch. The shame! :D

  • Well, that’s Monday done. Fairly steady day, no dramas, which is always good!

Portion of spicy carrot and lentil soup with bread and butter for lunch. Easy reheat tea of beef in red wine and mash, just did some freshly cooked green beans to go with.

Definitely a chill in the air so good, warming food went down a treat 😋

i hope the doctors appointment went ok Caronc

After a bad night sleep I was happy not to be working and having a lazy day at home.  My nephew finished some garden work for me and did the heavy lifting at the garden centre with some gravel.

I sorted the freezers out today in the hope of fitting it all into the small chest freezers so I can look to replace my old fridge freezer but unfortunately there a drawer left, mostly homemade ready meals.  My nephew caught me head first in the small chest freezer and surprised me with a throat clear so I nearly had a freezer incident, he thought it more amusing than me 😁 I did find some smoked mackerel so I could copy the pate idea later in the week 😋

I 'shopped' from the freezer today, lunch was a sausage sandwich.  Dinner pork chop, mash potato, runner beans and broccoli.  Unfortunately not a lot of room made in the freezer 🙂 there is a fair bit of fish in the freezer but I need to balance my love of it with being careful of upsetting my gout again

Same here, love fish but having to be careful now, seems just can't win, eat fish for heart, avoid fish for gout :| . Gout V2 has gone BTW, back to normal again, at least it goes quickly these Allopurinol days

Email from Asda about tomorrow's delivery, shortage of some items which is getting normal now, nothing that can't be swapped or missed off, like cream crackers & frozen Yorkies, I'm only getting them in for Christmas anyway so not end of my world

Hope blood results were OK, Caron

Lunch is likely to be toasted crust with grilled cheese & pickle topping
Dinner, LO roast chicken quarter and the mash I never made yesterday

    Good morning everyone,
I have passed my MOT  :) , mainly with flying colours but with an "advisory"- my blood glucose levels are higher than they should be but not alarmingly so and nothing that hopefully won't be corrected via diet/losing weight. I've been told to watch/reduce my carb intake, limit fizzy drinks including artificially sweetened ones (don't really drink these anyway) and reduce my weight very gradually aiming for a 5% reduction by the end of June and 10% by the end of 2023. The Dr reckoned that would be enough to reset things and they'll repeat the tests next March. It all sounds very doable.
Hector got the all clear at the vets and was allowed off the lead on his walk last night so he made the most of it and got completely soaked rolling on grass. Thankfully it wasn't muddy grass.  :)
LOs for lunch and off to my sister's for dinner tonight.
