Another warm day 🙂  three loads of washing dried included some of my heavy woollies

Freezers were sorted and tided as was the cupboard under the stairs before popping to Sainsbobs after lunch, in theory I only needed a couple of things but was led astray by YSs £20 of meat and fish including 2 packs of sea bass fillets for £6 😁 I divided it up and froze enough for 15 meals.  I also brought one of their half price beef joints (the smallest they had) which will probably also end up in the freezer as I'm now out for lunch tomorrow

during my freezer sort I found some of last year's rhubarb so cooked it with some of the YS strawberries I picked up yesterday, I'm resisting the urge to put a crumble on top 🤔. Lunch was scotch egg, coleslaw and salad.  Dinner LO Nasi Goreng from Thursday it was a small portion so I added wilted spinach, some runner beans and some 10p asparagus tips

Warm day ahead with sun, ideal Easter Sunday for those out & about

My cough / cold is improving, I was talking with someone yesterday & they told me colds / coughs seem everywhere now, no idea if it’s weaker Covid or just colds. Bit of a nuisance whatever it is

Nothing planned for the day, just pottering about and maybe a spot of plant pot watering

Meals today I’m having a day off from Pukka pies

Lunch, probably same old toast & cheese spread

Dinner, trying the Asda sirloin [2 for £8 offer], with HM AF chips, fried eggs & LO nuked baked beans

The steak looks nice but of course only the best side is visible although I did notice the Mark’s packaging was transparent top & bottom

Ignoring the siren call of frozen stewed 2021 crop apples after seeing brambling's mention of crumble

Good morning everyone and Happy Easter,
Glad your cough/cold is improving Farway.
Lazy morning so far after a productive day yesterday, the family aren't arriving until late afternoon as DS1 is watching the Old Firm game and my nephew is at work until 5pm. Once I've finished my cuppa I'll go and get the lamb ready for roasting and scrub some spuds. I started the pepperonta yesterday so it can finish off nearer the time. DS2 griddled aubergines yesterday too so just dressings and some croutons to make for the salads.
The sun is trying to break through the clouds so I might get a sit in the garden this afternoon.

Glad your feeling better Farway 🙂

i hope your long awaited family meal went well Caronc 🙂

I made a beef cheek rendang this morning before going out for lunch, in the pressure cooker using some beef cheeks which had been taking up space in the freezer, I now to squeeze back into the freezer several portions of it 🙄 eating down the freezer seems to have hit a road block this weekend  :# at least when work gets manic in June I'll have plenty of HM RMs to eat

lunch and baby cuddles at my sister's 🙂 dinner was some stewed rhubarb and ice cream

Not as sunny today, bright enough so garden pottering can continue, pot on some tomatoes I think, and spot of pot and bird bath top up watering

My cough / cold / covid maybe continues to improve. Just a bit wheezier than normal for me now

Back to Pukka pies for dinner, it’s leek & potato today, I think for CBA it’ll be nuke LO mash to go with it

Lunch same old toast & cheese spread

Quite a food rut I’ve dug myself this weekend but it suits my lolling around and not fancying much at the moment, and the fridge is slowly emptying if not the freezer

    Good morning everyone,
We had a lovely day yesterday though I drank a little too much so slightly wabbit today. My nephew made the most gorgeous cocktail - a "Bees Knees" (gin, lemon, honey and water). I'm often not a cocktail fan but these were delightful.  Our food all went well and there's some but not too many leftovers which I'll sort out later. The kitchen and lounge are rather untidy so first job after more tea is to try a restore some order.
Salmon for dinner with spuds and various veg.

Sounds like a good meal Caronc 🙂 even with after effects  ;)

The temperature had dropped slightly today which made it comfortable enough to garden this morning , I nearly filled the wheelie bin up before the garden got me, hay fever, allergic reaction causing itchy arms and finally the hip strongly objected  :s  just shoot me now please 🙄 but I did have a nice chat with my neighbour.  I had planned to do something this afternoon but had a unexpected nap 😁

lunch was a quick beans on toast when I came in from the garden.  Dinner a portion of the beef rendang with cauliflower 😋 definitely worth the time making the paste there are now 2 portions of paste in the freezer and 3 portions of rendang with one portion left for tomorrow dinner.  It had set so required slicing to freeze 😁

The weekend seems to have flown pass and just two of us in tomorrow, I foresee a lot of emails to deal with

  • At least it’s a short week Brambling 😉

Car picnic for lunch today on my way back from visiting family. Just a cheese and mustard sandwich and an apple but much nicer than anything I could have bought on the road and meant I could stop at a huge garden centre for a wander and to buy a drink. Got some (not) free range eggs whilst there.

Got sent home with a mini food parcel too so a very small Sainsburys shop this afternoon to get me through to the weekend. Struck lucky and found YS cod and prawns, now safely stashed in the freezer. Thai green prawn curry tonight with baby sweet corn and sugar snap peas served with noodles. Annoyingly had already taken some prawns out to defrost before finding my bargain ones 🙄. Oh well, they’ll all get used!

Up earlier than normal, usual failed to get back to sleep after bathroom visit. Looking sunny out but feels cooler, nothing planned for the day except potter in garden & maybe trim some gooseberry shoots

Maybe go into Mark’s tomorrow, nothing really needed but more of a YS mooch and now my cold is declining I don’t think I’ll be spreading lurgi around, normally wear a mask anyway

Food today, I found a two pack of Gregg’s veg slices in the freezer yesterday, had one for lunch & I’ll have the other for today’s lunch.

They were a trial buy last year and not used, now I‘ve tried them I’ll not buy an more, nothing wrong with them except a tad too spicy for me and taking 30 minutes in the oven for a one is getting silly with cost of fuel now. I suspect a lot of makers will be revamping their products to be a five minute ping

Dinner, the very last Pukka pie, Steak & kidney today. Maybe with fresh pot of mash or HM AF chips, depending on the spuds, it’s a new pack from Asda delivery last week so quality unknown, especially this time of year as older spuds run down

    Good morning everyone,
Yes roll on the new season potatoes  :)
Sunny but chilly here today, I'm pooch sitting and he's happily sun bathing on one of the garden chairs.
I was going to sweep and mop through but that can wait until tomorrow when small, hairy one has gone home.
LO lamb in a wrap with salad planned for lunch. DS2 is cooking tonight - dal with rice, salad and naan.
