    Good evening everyone,
Very good service from the boiler folk, phoned late morning and they were here just after 2pm! They're not local so not just a case of dropping in as they passed. It was a leaky connector thingy and took minutes to fix. The guy was annoyed they hadn't spotted it at the time.
Forecasted rain arrived this afternoon though it's dried up now, I had voluntary admin to do so wouldn't have been gardening anyway. My bedding plants have been dispatched so should arrive in the next couple of days.
Must go and get on with sorting out dinner.
  • Had the leftover Spanish chicken traybake tonight, served with couscous. Leftover leftovers in a lunchbox for tomorrow 😀

Lunch was poached eggs and mushrooms on toast, after a swim (a positive of wfh).

Grocery delivery tomorrow evening, I always feel better when the fridge and pantry are well stocked 😉

I know what you mean  :) but was very handy last year to have good supplies in  ;)

Caronc the boiler men are definitely on the ball

I managed a little gardening lunchtime in the back garden until I started sneezing 🤧 I loathed to go back to work but the hayfever drove me in. Before going back to work I went online and brought a season ticket for a local garden about 10 min drive away the yearly ticket is the price of 5 visits so my sister and I have both brought one and it seems we are entitled to a free wine tasting (they also own a vineyard) so will have to persuade my nephew to payback for all the taxiing his mother did 😁  this time of the year they are well known for their rhododendrons and as a member no need to pre book which is a current requirement. We plan to go at the weekend it seems they have baby wallabies at the moment 🦘 some will be white 🙂

Lunch was the last of the crumpets with jam today.  Dinner Nasi Goreng with loads of veg and spicy enough to clear my sinuses there are LO which I'll probably have Wednesday dinner

    Good morning everyone,
The garden visit sounds lovely Brambling, I hope your nephew obliges with the taxiing so you can enjoy the wine tasting!
Dull, damp and chilly here today. My bedding plants arrived first thing but they will just be getting unpacked today and I'll pot them up tomorrow when it's supposed to be dry.
LO pasta bake for lunch. Last of the ham tonight with eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and AF chips.

I had crumpets and jam this morning and I went for a walk. I walked past charity shops but one didn't have anything I wanted and the other wasn't open so I didn't find anything to buy.

I went home to hang up the washing and then went out again to get loo roll, bread etc... I've got in nearly 10,000 steps so far. :D

My husband has a hospital procedure this week so he has to have an at home swab test today. They haven't turned up so far.

It feels very Springlike here today. I felt a bit chilly as we have switched off the heating but when I went outside I realised it is quite mild.

I had fresh bread with marg and a salad with some pickled cabbage and some dips on the side. It's only half 11 but I woke up really early so I fancied some lunch.

Quite mild out, sunny as well with rain promised but I may be too far south for it to get here, looks like it peters out north of the South Downs, could certainly do with some rain

That garden sounds nice Brambling, the yearly option  V visit price is why I chose the RHS Wisley membership, as many visits as you want + another "family" member free
It's still PIA book ahead now with CV, was just turn up

I'm not quite ready for another grocery delivery, fridge is looking a bit empty, but the Sms here are pushing now, money of, plenty of slots, had offer of fiver off from Morries, but delivery is £4.50 minimum It's not worth me bothering as I have annual paid pass from Asda now, and the online checkout is far better, at least can opt for sub or no sub

Lunch today was the other PB baguette, with grated mousetrap & sliced onion filling
Dinner, something from the freezer, maybe MFO stab & ping or another of the Asda 3 cheese pizzas that I like

Chilly start here as well and with the window open and no heating I didn't want to leave my bed when the alarm went off, it was ok once I showered and dressed

Farway I've received a voucher for £8 off if I spent £40 by Iceland but it had to be used within 24hours,  I don't  need enough from them to warrant using it and I'm not that keen on their fresh F&V

other than work which had its moments my only excitement was going to T Express for milk lunch time. I realised that what I had ran out of date yesterday and I'll hate to find it's gone off tomorrow breakfast.  I haven't been to this T Express for a while and they have fitted red / green stop go lights at the door for customers, it's also a petrol station so busier than the one i usually go to which is in the opposite direction.  Annoyingly I forgot to buy tomatoes which wasn't good seeing as there was only two items written on my shopping list left on the fridge door  :s

Lunch was a cheese and HM coleslaw crusty roll with no tomatoes  :( dinner was sticky turkey with noodles and steamed pak choi. It was a recipe from a friend who kept raving about it but I'm not sure I would do it again, maybe I was doing something wrong. I used turkey instead of chicken and it was just marinated in equal parts honey, balsamic vinegar and soy, I added chilli but not convinced  🤔

  • I had the excitement of actually going to work today (office day) so was very glad of my CFO leftover leftovers at lunchtime 😜

No online shopping offers here but I do have a nicely stocked fridge and pantry again.

Made pasta puttanesca tonight (no leftovers 😆), got the spicing just right, was yummy

    Good morning everyone,
Enough rain here yesterday to keep the garden happy for a bit. It's dry so far today but overcast and decidedly chilly. I think most of the bedding plant potting will be getting done indoors as even wrapped up it's too cold to be sitting out for any length of time.
I had a rubbish sleep last night, took ages to get over and when I did I must have been in an awkward position as I've twisted my neck and shoulder. A hot shower and some pain killers have eased it a bit so fingers crossed it unkinks itself as the day goes on.
Cheese and pickle toastie for lunch. Dinner tonight is salmon with baked spuds, roasted baby toms, green beans and a creamy spinach sauce.

I had that offer as well, like you I find their fresh F & V very mixed, but at height of last year's lock down I was pleased to have that option at least
Having read this I realised it's a Bank Holiday so checked for slots at W8rose, plenty now, but my first would be early next week and it's clashing with offers & maybe the BH, so back to Asda & just completed order for tomorrow morning delivery, get it out of the way, includes more side of salmon fillet on offer, reviews are good so thought I'd try that, cut up, eat & freeze as required

I'm still left with buying Savoy & cauli's from where I can see them before buying it's but a small inconvenience

Made a ready mix loaf in the Panny first thing, lunchtime sarnie of LO corned beef + pickle I think
Dinner, bangers out defrosting, them + HM AF chips, LO beans + fried eggs, not very inspiring or veg full but it'll do for now, comfort food
Talking of which I may have a root around to see if anything suitable for slow cooking is lurking, handy over the weekend
