Brambling said:It seems there are support groups in the US for men who find out they're not the biological father of adult children when those children have DNA tests (which are a popular Christmas present) it's quite common 😳
There are a few reasons/types of mother:
1/ Had an affair, knows it, staying quiet and hoping she can get away with it.
2/ Was sleeping with several at the time, picks the one she wants it to be (seen on Jeremy Kyle, where I've seen a girl have three chaps tested and it was still none of them)
3/ Bloke simply can't count/do the maths and is conned by a girl to be their bf/do the deed, then she declares it's his.
4/ No point going down that route as it's started with a criminal act denied or hidden up.
It is a woman issue because they're the ones who know who/when they slept with - and if they should've been ....0 -
I'm all at sixes and sevens today. Spotted a bungalow I wasn't terribly interested in had returned to the market, it'd sold quickly before, so no need to dwell on it. I re-researched it this morning. It's not ideal, but it could be "good enough, almost"... but is it worth giving the dream up for? So I took a drive by. It's on a main/through road; it's 2 doors down from a bus stop and opposite one; it's got frontage parking (if you can get in/out safely enough with all that passing traffic and buses pulling in/out. It's a bit of an odd layout and a tiny bit tired... but "it'd do". Thinking about a viewing, but still not enamoured of it.
I then hit Mr T and scooped up some frozens. Pizza, 2x lasagne, toad in the hole. Also got some sausage rolls and a few other bits. Failed to get a few things because I spent so long looking for custard and coffee I became "people in the way tired" and CBA to go BACK round to the (always busy) bread aisle to look at bread, I'd already got crumpets. The frozens fitted in the freezer. I wasn't sure if the pizza box would be too large for it (10" pizza). I need to get a shelf for the fridge as that's missing... I've measure it so will put a shout out on Facebook for anybody about to take theirs to the tip that no longer needs a shelf.
New person moved in this morning, occupying the moonlight flit style departure... there's a story there too! Not an interesting story so I won't tell it.0 -
Bit dull outside, & rain on the way, should save you from garden "music" today BramblingWith that in mind first job was knock up a sausage & bean SC thingy given the last successLunch, thinking of same old cheese sarnie, maybe with piccalilli?Dinner, as aboveEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

Good morning everyone,
The wee lad next door plays the violin, he's pretty good now but there's was several months when he started out where "Silent Night" was being practiced daily after school .............
Snap Brambling peanut butter for us too (and thighs instead of breast), I wasn't sure I'd use cashew butter and it is too expensive to waste.
As it happens we didn't make the curry last night as we ended up having an impromptu meal out at the local pub with sis and nephew. It was lovely to get out of the house and have a catch up and as always the food was decent, I had a warm cajun spiced chicken fillet sandwich with salad and chips which was really tasty. I'm cooking the curry tonight instead.
Wet and wild here this morning with weather warnings for flooding. I don't need to go anywhere so will be staying put indoors where it's warm and dry. My son needs to head out later to have a tyre replaced but hopefully it will have calmed down a bit by then.
Soup from the freezer for lunch - it's that kind of weather.3 -
I've always liked tinned spag bol on toast (+ cheese optional if CBA). Half a big tin, 2 slices of toast. But it's pricey.
Grabbed a tin of Mr T's this morning, 55p, then, as I was putting it in my basket I spotted their cheapo range tins, so got that instead, but there was no price label on the shelf... had to wait to go through the till to see how much it is. 40p. I don't expect it to be any good, but it's worth a punt in case.
Heinz original's £1.25 (on offer at Mr T at 3 for £3 at the moment). Not had that one for donkeys' years.
The cheapo one has 6% beef and the Heinz has 4%. There's quite a lot of difference in ingredients between the two tins. Cheapo has tomato puree, Heinz has 36% tomatoes.3 -
I only had a cup of ginger and lemon tea this morning so I was starving when I got home. I had a bowl of leek and potato soup with toast and some crisps. I had green tea too.
I'm going to have a choccie bar when I read my magazine this afternoon.
i'm not sure what else I will eat. It will involve potatoes!

i'm not sure what else I will eat. It will involve potatoes!Oooh, I love L & P soup. Not sure I'll be making any this year because I used to buy on offer or YS leeks & pick the best there.I can't really trust the on line pickers but who knows what lies aheadInvolving potatoes, baked spud or chips then!!Very dark & windy outside, just checked the weather radar and PN is getting it right now with me right in line for someGood move with SC sausage & bean thing fro dinner, very comfort foodEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2 -
Trying to eat/cull my already vast mountain of food I don't fancy any more.... I had one of the lasagnes I bought earlier.... and I've just had a cup a soup and flatbread. I'm now into my 3rd pack (of 12) of those flatbreads, I'm mostly eating them cold/just ripped up as a nibble. The cup a soups I bought early March, different boxes of four - and this one's had one soup in a box cluttering up my pile for months. I couldn't shove it in another box as I wanted to remember which flavour it was, so, now I've had that one I can toss out the empty box.
Weather's wild here... wet, windy, wild. Cold, miserable.2 -
Evening all
The wind and rain enjoyed by PN and Farway reaches us about 5pm and seemed to be at its worst when I went out just before 7pm 🙄
i had a iceland delivery today to use a good voucher and save me going into town at the weekend, unfortunately there was three items (not important ones) missing which pushed me below the £35 so I ended up paying delivery and losing out on the voucherI wasn't happy 😐 but not the end of the world
I did get a free 1kg bag of pasta as part of an offer which I thought should have been 500g so I'll probably pass that onto my sister and nephew as I have a 500g bag, spaghetti and lasagna sheets in my cupboard. B
PN Heinz tinned spag Bol was half price in Iceland so I did buy a tin as it's something I haven't had in decades but use to buy when I was at school and occasionally have it after work (Saturday job) my mum wouldn't buy it, I bet it wouldn't taste as good as it did then 😁 my palate as evolved since I was 18
lunch was a bowl of stewed apple and berries with Greek yoghurt as it needed using 🙂 dinner was a burger and fried onions.

The calm after the storm this morning.A bit of a breather while Storm Alex gets it's puff up in the Western Approaches for the weekend, supposed to be real batten down hatches stuff coming up the ChannelI may defrost some steak chunks tomorrow, it's looking like stew & dumpling weather for the weekendIn light of the above I think I'll pop out & pick a few apples before they get blown off, they are nearly ripe as I've had some alreadyEasy "cooking" day today, all only heat up RM stuffLunch a cheese & onion pastyDinner, a 3 cheese deep pan pizza. I may glance at a lettuceI've not tried Heinz tinned spag bol, normally not a lover of tinned mince stuff of dubious origin, but if on offer in Ice£and I may just pop a tin in my next deliveryBrambling I thought if you ordered & it was above £35 but come delivery a non available dropped it below you weren't charged delivery?I've never experienced below £35 so I could well be wrong.Presumably like you I squeeze just above, even popping some soup / loo roll or whatever in to make up the numbersAt the moment I'm waiting on a coupon before I return to Ice£andEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2
