Wow, Exciting times at PN Towers
All crossed for you & mini fridge / freezer
It was sausage sarnie for lunch, with brown sauce, and it was jolly tastySon is moaning no loo rolls or porridge left in the shops.I'm alright Jack! Mine was delivered on Wednesday.Only need to prep the HM chips & all's done for the dayEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2 -
End of freezergate. I got the fridge/freezer.
Fridge is missing the shelf, which makes it a bit of a nuisance, but I can work with that. Freezer has .... wait for it ... wait for it .... SPACE FOR A BAG OF CHIPS!! And some burgers.
With so much freezer space I'll pop up Iceland in a bit, get some of their fishcakes and their burgers, I prefer L1dl chips, so will wait or pop out later. It's easier to walk to Iceland; it's easier to drive to L1dl, so can't do the two in a round robin. Better fill it in case anybody else is cheeky enough to turn up with food without having looked, then starts poking around looking for space to put stuff...
I'll still keep it mostly filled with empty boxes... just in case.
P.S. LL didn't know about the moving out... it turns out it was a moonlight flit!
EDIT: Forgot it's Sunday. I'd decided to drive to L1dl and then drive past Iceland on the way back, perchance to be lucky enough to get a parking spot outside (rare, but worth a chance).... then, if not lucky I'd walk back there.... got half way to L1dl and remembered it's Sunday and they were about to close.... so I've just got chips for now.
This might not seem important to some, but chips in the freezer have been the backbone of my diet since forever; I eat most/many things with chips. But I've not been able to purchase chips since late last year.... so this was my first bag of frozen chips for nearly a year. It's a milestone.
I can also now buy/freeze crumpets.... and even a bit of bread. And many other foods I spot.... or buy a cheesecake and put it in the freezer instead of having to put it in the fridge then eat it within 2-3 days.
So many choices.... too excited for words. This is like my house requirements, I want "my parking", indisputable, unusable by others, clearly and absolutely my parking spot.... but in freezer space form

Great news rather freezer PN, maybe you should stick you name on it to ensure no one else tries to use it. It's certainly all go in your place
Whilst planting my bulbs this morning I had a conversation with two men in a van who were knocking hard on the door over the road from me, they wanted to confirm the road name and that It was no 8 they said it was being rented 🤔 They wandered back to the van and got on the phone and then came back to ask me where the road with the same name as my Close was as they were in the wrong place 🙄 luckily for them it's the road we're off of and no 8 is just around the corner. I did say I thought it was funny I hadn't heard my neighbours were moving. For a minute I thought the rumour mill on the Close was failing 😁 it's not been so good since next door died as he knew everything and would pass it all on to me whether I wanted to know or not 😳
I didn't finish gardening until after 1.30 so lunch was a sausage wrap, they were YS chicken, tomato and basil ones from M&S don't think I'll buy again even if they are YS not horrid just not wonderful there are some more in the freezer.
like Caronc dinner was roast pork, mine was just a small joint served with jacket potato, roast parsnip, roast chicory, French beans, tenderstem broccoli and courgette. I don't like apple sauce with pork but have cooked some cooking apples I was given with some blackberries and black currants from the freezer. I brought a couple of bags of fruits of the forest from Lidl which I haven't been very impressed with, they also contain a lot of grapes which I haven't seen when I brought them, one more pack to go but the fruit came from the end of one bag

Good morning everyone,
Great news PN on bagging the F/F
I quite like apple sauce but seldom make it, I do sometimes roast apple wedges in with the pork if the notion takes but yesterday I just roasted it on top of rosemary, sage, thyme and a few garlic cloves. There's half the joint left for tonight.
Grey, wet and on the chilly side here this morning. I got a fair bit done in the garden yesterday so indoor chores and voluntary admin will keep me occupied today. Soup from the freezer for lunch and pork, veg and noodle stir fry for dinner tonight.3 -
Bit nippy here today.
The flatbreads I bought.... nuked the first two with cheese, added jalapeno ketchup - they were good enough. Just saw the final one in the pack (3/pack, I have 12 packs).... and thought "you have loads of those, why not give it a go just eating one and see" - well, it's very passable. I think most of these will end up being used as bread and eaten on their own, or with cold/salady fillings rather than pizza.
Bit nippy here. Heating was put on last night for the first time, I suspect it was also part of a "test it out" moment to check it runs OK before it's really needed. It wasn't tested this morningCold fingers.
Last night I tried that Gluten Free stuffing mix... I'm used to the supermarket own brand unlabelled cheapo stuff and this just wasn't as good at all. Seriously thinking, as it's gluten free, of sticking it out to a food bank, once I've double checked the date. I'd rather somebody that needs gluten free got their hands on it than me forcing my way through seven large (170g) bags. 7x170= 1.2Kg near enough.
The crumble mix I probably never intended to use as crumble, in all honesty. It's just pastry isn't it .... I bought it thinking "a bit of crumble mix, but I'll also knock up some pastry with that". I'll just spoon it out into a mug, add a bit of water, then shape it by hand to take whatever fillings I dream up, probably cheese quiches or something... who knows.3 -
It's gone back to warm weather here. I went for a walk and I didn't need my cardigan.
I did 8000 steps and had toast with Marmite, some peanuts and orange juice when I got in.
I'm making pasta for later. I'm having it cold.3 -
Late clocking on today, loud clonk in the night woke me & I failed to get back to sleep & had a lie inCause of clonk is unknown, everything seems in place so it may have been outside somewhere with sound travelling at nightCongrats on FF PN, I share your chips in freezer, always handy especially when only manky fresh spuds are aboutWhen you mentioned the person moving when LL was out I did think they may have been flitting.Could become more common as CV and money problems build up.Maybe I'm wrong, never rented a room, but isn't a deposit of X weeks rent required to cover such an eventuality? My male DNA results have thrown a spanner in the works of my 1800s London male roots, I'm told could be Ulster in 1600s & Norway before that.I'll have to hunt out my Viking helmetPlot thickens & I'm waiting on chap who knows all about DNA to set me straightLunch was sandwich spread sarnie, nice & simpleDinner, @sda Smart Price MFO RM macaroni cheese, ideal for just over a quid with bit of extra cheese grated on topEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

DNA - ethnicity is a bit like horoscopes, "just a bit of fun". See/read it and move on .... as they refine their algorithm, as more people have been tested, it'll keep changing and you might wake up one morning to find no need for your Viking helmet.
My dad used to say he had a "Viking finger", that's apparently some term for a wonky little finger... I think I've got it too, it's not anything noticeable until you hold your hands flat and inspect them, specifically looking for a bend. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dupuytren's_contracture
I've got miniscule fingers, probably the size of a 10 year old... people/strangers do actually exclaim "aren't your hands tiny!", which is annoying when you hear it so often. It's harder to spot a wonky finger in a small 'un.1
