Perhaps they could even offer a takeaway option. Toby had started to offer takeaway, but their version at the time was they boxed up a meal and you collected it; I'd have thought they would have sold better if they provided you with a takeaway box that you filled yourself, then got to the end and paid, like on a plate/at a table, but in a set box/takeaway.
Businesses have set up their way of doing things and many have been simply too inflexible to see beyond what they already do. e.g. sandwich shops that shut, when they could've easily done a phone/collect or click/collect. Many simply sat back and have done nothing, not tried.... I'd have been spending 20 hours/day scouring the Internet to see what others were doing, how they were doing it ... and worked out my own way forward. Some could've simply opened their doors and put a table across the doorway and used some no nails on a sheet of perspex and served takeaway... but all they could see was "customers come into our shop and queue and they can't do that any more, so I can't open".2 -
A post from Toby ... opening 4 July.
"Rest assured you'll still be able to enjoy your favourite Toby breakfast and carvery just the way you like it - with as much or as little as you'd like."
You have to book, fewer tables, they plate it for you .... but it's open, which I didn't expect for 2-5 years, maybe never.2 -

Good afternoon everyone,
The weather is still rubbish but not back to back rain so if it stays off I hope to get some herbs repotted. I don't I'll be outside for that long though as it's far from warm!
My elder son is popping by later to borrow my wheelbarrow and bringing with him some Greek style stuffed veg that his fiancée cooked, she got a bit carried away with the quantities and made enough to feed an army apparently. I'll swap them for a tub of the vat of ratatouille type veg sauce I made yesterday. We'll have the stuffed veg for dinner and bump the pasta dish I was planning until tomorrow. As it was so chilly I fancied soup for my lunch so liberated a tub of HM turkey broth from the freezer which I had with rye crackers and pate.

LL annoyed me last night ... new behaviour. Came home/parked up and sat in the car for some time (usually does/is on the phone).... came in + bf... had been on phone to bf talking to him as he drove over *sighs*. In the kitchen... chitter chatter, chitter chatter... kettle/coffee... chat... then playing with something "noisy" on the phone and laughing over that ... finally leaving 45 minutes later just before 10pm.
Right, that's done and dusted then... no. 10.15, LL's in the kitchen without the light on creeping about making a drink....
One more sleep!!!!
Today I took a couple of items to storage, not much and picked up the box to move my PC in (not a special box, but it's big enough to hold the monitor, keyboard and power cables etc + my cig-rolling-tray and my food laptray, so "handy sized" so I'd kept it empty in the storage for when I moved.1 -
Popped out this morning, quick visit to storage, just as I was leaving the heavens opened and it piddled down. Fortuitous really as then I was off to the cashpoint as I'll be needing some cash this week. Got some shiny/squeaky new £20s. As it was raining there was nobody else about, so didn't have to squeeze past/behind the socially distanced queue to get to the ATM.
After that, time for a cheeseburgerMight as well.
Back here I've also polished off two rounds of paste sandwiches and some sweeties. I had intended to pick up a noodle pot from storage, but I forgotI'd popped about 9 of them in there to free up car space for moving day, I'd kept two out since then but scoffed those in the last few days.
I was tempted to pop out for chips, but then CBA, it's cold, it's wet. No joy.... more joy saving something like that for the coming 2-3 days.1 -

Candy He's become a PITA when I'm trying to work 🙀😁
I've spoken to my BIL tonight and my sister is out of Intensive Care and complaining about being in a geriatric ward, so I've suggested she's feeling better 🙄 they're still not sure what the issue was probably a mix of a virus (not CV19) and they think some of it could be a blood pressure medication she has been on for over 20 years which they seemed surprised she hadn't been taken off. Her shoulder was dislocated as well as broken and needed surgery so she is needing physio as well and sign off from occupational health. I think I feel sorry for my BIL she won't be a easy patient 😳
Lunch was fish fingers in a Mediterranean pita with tartar sauce and water cress. I had a couple of slices of tea loaf from the freezer with a cuppa at 4pm so after a couple of long family phone calls that has been dinner with some cooked berries chilled just now
