Update,Lunch became cheese on toast with LO scoop of beansDinner. The cabbage was even worse than expected, at least half was non recoverable and binnedLuckily I found a LO not quite as bad broccoli so that makes up the green quota for dinnerSC beef now wafting Bisto style odours aroundEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

The garden appreciated the rain Farway and it's made it a lot cooler 🙂 unfortunately if you dig down a little bit it's still bone dry 😐. I didn't mind a damp walk around town this morning and it meant it still wasn't that busy. I was led astray in the farmers markets at the local fruit farm stall and brought cherries, raspberries, strawberries, Tay berries, gooseberries and black currants 🙂 I'll use some to make the filling of a summer pudding but won't add the bread part so not really a summer pudding 🙄. I also picked up the last of the asparagus for the year
Was the airfryer a birthday present Caronc?
My sister is still in intensive care but did have a little porridge for breakfast and has spoken to one of her granddaughters on the phone, I fear she's in for a telling off from my eldest sister for not speaking to a doctor it seems she passed out and fell in doors a week before the garden fall and wouldn't let my BIL call the doc my eldest sister takes the role of eldest very seriously, I would love to be a fly on the wall as they are 76 and 79 😄
It was nearly 2pm when I got back from town so lunch was the last of the pineapple, melon and mango. Dinner was a little more substantial 😁 YS marinaded steak with HM chips using LO new potatoes, griddled asparagus, broccoli and French beans

For LL an ill wind PN, but in your case a Divine Wind
. Windy here as well, but sunny, you'd need to be in a sheltered spot today
Early start after breakfast, planting last of the climbing French beans and removing the first of the all scoffed peas. For once my attempt at staggered sowing seems to have worked, with more peas to followWhile out there I spotted some of my dwarf French beans are ready necessitating a quick change of meal plan for today, must use them before they go toughLunch, thinking a SC LO cold beef & mustard sarnie, can't muster much brain power to think past thatDinner, now with change of plan. It was going to be LO SC beef + salad, but now will be the French beans in some sort of pasta with some sort of tomato pasta sauceI've located a prime sauce suspect at rear of larder, BBE 2014, looks fine in it's jar, soon find out once I pop the lidI have backup sauce from ND T*sco buying just in caseEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1 -
Good afternoon everyone,
It's back to winter here it seems, blowing a hooley, pouring and blooming chilly!! Needless to say apart from a quick trip to pop out the food waste caddy for emptying and right some topped garden chairs I've not been out.
I'm enjoying a lazish day but I'm just about to start prepping dinner for later - slow cooked then roasted pork ribs, ayrshire tatties, broccoli, carrots and green beans. Lunch was eggs scrambled with mushrooms and tomatoes on toast.1 -
Just had air fried stuffed chestnut mushrooms. Were squishy but absolutely delish 😘"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Quiet day other than my sister popping around for a couple of hours chat in the garden this lunchtime. I spent the morning cooking some of the fruit I brought yesterday and resisting the urge to make a crumble with any of it, mixed berries, gooseberries, apple and blackberry I still may be led astray by a gooseberry fool but that will mean going out for cream so it made stay just a thought 🙂
It was 2pm when my sister left and we had picked at the cherries I brought yesterday so I had a couple of crackers with cheese to tide me over. I slow cooked lamb shanks for dinner 'Greek Style' according to the recipe and had some with orzo pasta, roast fennel, French beans and tenderstem broccoli and a taster of the courgettes with tomatoes, onions and garlic which I'll have with the LO pasta tomorrow 🙂 my French beans will be ready in a day or to so I'll finish the shop brought ones tomorrow. They were big lamb shanks so the two made three generous portions, I'll have one Tuesday dinner and the other I'll freeze

Windy & dull here as well, may change dinner plan again, it was salad but now TBDWith the change in weather I may postpone picking the gooseberries, red & white currants.Like Brambling my intention is to cook them & decide what to do later.I may just freeze the cooked berries because there will not be enough for a decent crumble. Custard sounds tempting thoughIf I wait a few weeks the first of my blackberries should be ripe and then we'll talk crumble with LO 2019 appleLunch, maybe warm up the LO pasta & beans mix from yesterday, it turned out well, so well I've added a more paste & sauce to the C & C order in anticipation of my runners cropping soon, small ones are now peeking outDinner, as above, cold LO SC beef salad was planned but may opt for a hot meal, nuke a Chinese MFO?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

Good afternoon everyone,
Glad you've managed to avoid and overlap PN 😁.
It's still wet, cold and wild here so another day of not venturing out for me. I was late waking up this morning so it was nearly midday by the time I got myself functioning, feels like a bit of a waste of a morning but with the weather being as it is I haven't really missed anything lol!
Lunch was jarred dill herring on rye crackers with salad and grapes. Dinner tonight is refried bean tacos with HM guacamole, salsa and cheese. My son cooked the beans yesterday so it's just the toppings to sort out. Later I plan to make a pan of ratatouille type veg stew some of which we'll have with pasta for dinner tomorrow. If the forecast is to be believed we might get some dry weather tomorrow 🤞, if we do I want to get on with the remaining planting and won't want to be faffing about chopping veg.1 -
Lunch was another plan change, cheese & piccalilli sarnie in the endDinner is def a nuked MFO of some sortNice timing on overspend PN,Shame the restrictions will still be in place or a nice treat would've been one of the all you can scoff roasts. From what I hear buffet style food is out for ages with social distancing & puffing germs over the food and the handling the toolsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

Having picked 3 courgettes yesterday my dinner will also be a courgette, tomato type thing Caronc no aubergines and i forgot the peppers so not quite ratatouille
Even when you're not busy the weekend seems to fly by and back to busy Monday and 6.30pm finishesI have had some help again today and he was pretty determined on what he wanted. I ended up using my mouse with my left hand and not being able to use the Enter key. We had words when he started to try and inch his way across the keyboard which ended up with him attempting to bite me (more a nip than a bite as he doesn't draw blood ) unfortunately the altercation between us was on a conference call which I hadn't muted
. It wouldn't be the first time and makes a change from the noise from somebodies kids, I had already explained away the purring. When he shut the lid later I lied and blamed technical issues, he pushes it from the back whilst rubbing his chin on the corners
Lunch was LO steak from Saturday with pita and salad, I have been complaining about achy joints all day so I probably shouldn't have eaten the wheat. Dinner will be courgettes, tomatoes, onions and garlic which I made yesterday with LO orzo pasta and some LO green veg. Having picked 3 courgettes yesterday I'm a little worried about checking them later on which I may find I could be passing them over the fence.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin3
