I've had roast potatoes with a big salad and some fresh fruit today. Bit of a weird mixture. I'm not sure if it is using this steroid nasal spray that is making me lose my appetite as it sometimes makes me feel sick.
I'm making HM tomato soup later and I have some granary bread to go with it.4 -
Lol Weds that is certainly a weird mixture but I see that as a wonder of living alone you can eat exactly what you like when you like. Sounds nice to me though
Still hot here though bit hazy so thinking a cold buffet again. Nice bread delivered today some mackerel, slice of pork pie, piece of cheese chutneys and some salad. I also have some pancakes strawberries and cream for afters4 -
Evening all
it felt cooler here or it could just because it was cloudy. My hand joints are painful today I think due to gardening so I kept it to just watering tonight. I think my garden is trying to kill me, first my back now my hands and I've been wheezing since last night due to something in the front garden - has anyone got a gun 😁 if I don't shoot myself I going to get the pigeons sitting on the fence eyeing up my bean plants with evil intent 🙄 🔫
I made a quick dash into town lunchtime to pick up a cheap container from Wilkos, I have brought some flour from the bakery which was in a plastic bag so needs to be decanted into something and I broke the lid of my last one. When I was in town I picked up a baguette and had it with the last of the gammon and cheese. Dinner was the last of the cauliflower cheese with the LO purple sprouting I had forgotten was in the fridgeLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin3 -
Cooler day, still sunny though. After breakfast I was out watering before the heat gets going, my rhubarb is looking a bit sorry in drought so hoping a few gallons will give it the will to live & me another crumble sometimeDespite the hot day ahead I've decided to use the small & grotty cauli from my C & C in a cauliflower cheeseHonestly it's more of a large floret than an 89p medium cauliflower. However it's in soak & hoping it'll perk up a bit. Certainly there will not be any LOsAnd another moan, my manky C & C spuds, I had to bin more yesterday, going squishy & rotten
.
My local green grocer is now delivering in this area, but it's a "box" scheme which is not always ideal when CFO.I'll have to look into it a bit more, he sells local FR eggs & honey as well so it's tempting, now if only he had cheese & baconLunch, the crisps & salad cream sarnie was fine, bit like chips with salad cream, you know it's "wrong" but it tastes just fineHowever today's is a cheese & piccalilli I thinkBit of a cheesy day with cauliflower cheese as tonight's dinner. I'll probably have some HM chips with thatYesterday was my first pea, went into my salad. Yesterday I went to the chippy - I thought I'd try their curry sauce. At £1.20/pot I had high hopes.
Unfortunately, what £1.20 buys you is a smallish pot of sweet/weak curry sauce that's got all those miniature bits of chopped up apple/whatever. So, nothing special, just a standard warehouse job lot of bog standard curry sauce. The chippy where I used to live at least gave you a large pot and it was homemade, for that price.
I had paste/cucumber sandwiches yesterday and doritos and pastille sweeties and a flatbread.
Today I've had a paste/cucumber sandwich so far.... will have to have another one later as the jar's open. One 27p jar makes two rounds (four slices), so I tend to make one lot and pop the lid on the pot again until I make the second round later.2 -
Good afternoon everyone,
The weather is gorgeous here today if anything a tad too warm at the moment for me so I'm lurking in my cool bedroom until the sun goes over a bit. Yesterday I managed to get my beans and courgettes planted out which really pleased me as it means I've been able to move my bedding plants and green veg seedlings from the conservatory to the covered deck. I have my kitchen table back again! My balance is still iffy so when it's cooler later I'll see what other outdoor jobs I can do seated.
When my son was at Lidl on Sunday he bought a bag of their Greek style cheese, herb and sesame seed pastries. He baked some for our lunch and my they are very moreish 😁. Tonight it's pasta shells mixed with sausage meat balls and HM ratatouille from the freezer.2 -

I had leftover pizza again for breakfast.
It's still quite warm here. My garden weeds need tackling but I can't find any motivation at the moment!2025 GOALS

That looks like mange tout Farway or as my tablet wants to call it 'man get out'
cooler here as well Farway I think we lent Caronc the sun today, the garden still needed watering and due to a slight mishaps I watered his lordship this evening 😬 he wasn't happy but not my fault he was hiding 🙀
annoyingly i I forgot the second pack of mussels until tonight, I had taken them out of the box to make room in the fridge, they were three days past their use by date and with shell fish I wasn't about to take the risk especially as it was after dinner so they would have had to wait until tomorrow, it really hurt to throw them outI hate throwing food away especially seafood
i had a slice of bara brith and butter for breakfast before slicing it and sticking in the freezer, I'll have to consider the Parkin once it finishes maturing at the weekend 🤫 I should give it away. I didn't fancy the salad I had planned for lunch so had a big bowl of chopped fruit, mixed berries, banana, nectarine and kiwi. Dinner was pan fried salmon, jersey royals, asparagus and broccoli. I cooked some none jersey royal potatoes as well so I'm thinking fish fingers and chips tomorrow it will depend on the weather they could end up as potato salad 🤔Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin4 -
More sunshine but with a pleasant breeze today, I'll be out watering later, my DD has picked her first outside strawberries so I must keep the end up hereThe cauliflower cheese turned out fine, ample for one with some chips. Thankfully I've now used all the grotty spud bag, must have binned half of themND delivered my shopping and I sampled some of the Coastal Bites cheese from T*sco, tipped by Caron I think.Very nice and confirmed once more my taste buds are in champagne territory & not cider.Although oddly I prefer cider to champagne that could be because I've never had really expensive posh champagneLunch, think it's cheese on use up toast, just plastic cheddar, not the good stuffDinner, snap for Fish & chips Brambling, I'm going to try Morries frozen chunky breaded cod fillet, part of my C & C, with HM AF chips & nuked frozen peasEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2
