I really should go food shopping, but it's such a nuisance.
Last time I bought two 6-packs of flatbreads, the trouble with those is I just grab one to eat as it is.... so I quickly go through them. This then means I have to go out to the shops again. I think next time I'll go back to having a loaf. It's a pain to eat so much bread, but it does last longer and is more versatile as I can make jam sandwiches with bread, but jam/flatbreads don't really work.
I've a vaaaaaaast, maaaasssive collection of lovely food I could cook/eat, which I've never used. I just collect nice recipes and then continue eating what I've always eaten. I store them in evernote, which has a tagging system. As I've not been able to cook a meal for myself since last September, I'm kind of thinking that when I get a proper home I should make more effort to cook actual meals.... just the easy ones mind you. I've no time for huge lists of ingredients, nor faffery... so, as evernote's got tags, I've started using one this morning called NewHouse - and when I'm pawing through and spot a recipe in the set that I should get round to making I'll tag it, so, once I get this mythical unicorn house I'll have a list of what to cook.
I should add: I did something similar in 2012... never did cook a single item of those. Ditto each Xmas if I'm honestI've a Xmas-All tag and Xmas-2012 .... through to Xmas-2019 all lovely tagged recipes I never made in the end.
Today I've had: 2 tomatoes for breakfast. A noodle pot for lunch.2 -

. Although my house was built in the mid 60s wild blue bells, wood anemones and wild garlic come up every year in my front garden, and tend to run amok 🙂
Funnily enough not a lot is happening in my world at the moment 🙄 other than work, food and my one walk a day. My excitement for today was the garden centre near me send an email to say as a 'garden club member' I can use their very limited online shop to click and collect and I could just order compost which is as rare as flour around here. The two other local garden centres want you to buy at least £50 of plants before you can buy compost and this one isn't selling plants. Email with order sent by return, It means if it all goes ok that no worries with planting on of my seeds. I fear I've water logged my runner beans I forgot the trays they are sitting on had no drainage 🙄 I'm debating whether to plant the last of the seeds as they're my sisters' and she will kill me if no plants, then again my nephew will kill me if she ends up with a freezer full of beans 😁
lunch was another portion of stuff vegetables. Dinner was quorn steak with broccoli and french beans, nice and simple as the quorn went in the air fryer from frozen and the veg was LOs

Hot day ahead is forecast, sun's cracking the flags alreadyDespite the forecast today is roast dinner again day, mainly because I've broccoli & cabbage getting near wilt. With my reliance on ND to get my shopping I have to order stuff just in case, and the green veg is case in point. At least I've food unlike some vulnerables who seem to be stuck in without a deliveryPorridge breakfast, because the banana had gone way past it I had to mash it in. It was fine. Banana loaf would have been an option except for my last poor effortLunch, another cheese & salad sarnieDinner, as above, I've taken LO cooked XCFO roasted turkey slices out of freezer, and use up some more of the XCFO Aunt B's roast spuds.I don't know what I must have been thinking when I placed my XCFO order, way to many packs roast spudsWaiting on a package of loose tea, at least I'll be in this time, normally I finish up with card in door & trip to sorting officeI'm going to try on line specialty cheese order soon. Nothing wrong with SM Cheddar but I do like a bit of something different which I sometimes find on YS moochingApart from that, one highlight of the day will be putting the bins out for tomorrowEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens4

I can't remember if I said on here but I was so bored yesterday that I jet washed my back garden/ patio. I hadn't done it once since I moved in as my husband usually does it.We have lived here, hmm, 18 years. Lol.

I had toast, marg and Marmite for breakfast.
I then had a cup of green tea and a chocolate protein bar in the garden sunshine.
I have the last of the leftover HM tomato soup for lunch. Actually I have half a tin of chickpeas in the fridge so I will make a sandwich with salad and vegan mayo. No mustard left and I forgot to order any in the shopping tomorrow!
I'm going out later to buy wine and some sparkling water (priorities!) and so I might look for mustard too if the shop is as empty as last time.2025 GOALS

I made a list of food and went out at 9.30. Somebody yesterday had posted that a shop was empty, so I thought I'd try it about the same time they must've been there.
There was a queue... it wasn't worth queueing behind all those people for one loaf of bread and a couple of pastes.
After that it went Pete Tong. All I wanted ... was to go into a shop and come out with a loaf. It took me 2 hours, 20 miles and 8 shops to finally achieve it. Then I had to stick with it. That final shop had people with earplugs in wandering around "how you like", ignoring the arrows... and even a bloke shopping with his kid on a bike and the kid was cycling all over the shop then shouting every 2 minutes to work out where his dad was.
I just got a loaf in the end, no pastes... I didn't know that shop, I didn't fancy walking round it a 3rd time to see if they sold them... I just got the bread and left.
Adjacent to the first shop I went to is a £land, so I popped in there and emerged with a bag of chocs, box of matchmakers and a bag of 5 packs of Walkers.... again, people not following the arrows....
Came back and made a jam sandwich and had crisps. A bit later on I had a paste sandwich (one unopened jar left and this jar 1/2 empty, so I'll have that later). Feeling annoyed/twitchy at not being able to simply wander into shops .. and emerge with food.2 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Glad you have your priorities sorted Wednesday 😉🍷
How many tins are in a pallet CG?
It's another lovely day here though quite hazy, nice and warm though and the cold wind has died back a bit. I had a fairly productive morning after a slow start, my voluntary admin is now up to date and I put weedkiller down on the slabs at the back. It's all slabbed and a fairly decent sized space so not a small job. I'm pooped now so have abandoned any thoughts of also doing the front garden today. Lunch was a ham salad sarnie with baby plum toms and grapes on the side. Dinner will be a rake and see what veg needs using up and take it from there no doubt a stir fry or veggie pasta dish will be the result. Grocery order for tomorrow is as far as I can see finalised unless my son has any last minute requests as the weather looks to be fine for until we'll into next week I think another bbq will be on the cards. Between what I have in and what's ordered I'm sure my son will come up with some ideas to justify lighting it lol😁.2 -

I know it's not your "normal" store but W8rose are good at discipline so I'm told by my spiesI think £land sell bread? Never bought any from there but I think I've seen it in there. I can well imagine £land shoppers wandering about haphazardly if my store is typicalVeg prepped, roast is still on target despite it being baking hot

I should do that too Candygirl. I go through so many chickpeas!
I did get some English mustard and I put it on my sandwich when I got home. I haven't had that type of mustard in a while. Lovely. The shop I go in since the virus situation is almost empty every time so I'm quickly in and out. The Russian (I think that is a Russian accent) guy says hello to me now. I always used to go in Londis or Coop before this but they are too busy for my liking!
I saw so many pizza delivery drivers on mopeds while I was out. Seems like the pizza restaurants are doing a roaring trade, at least where I live.2025 GOALS
